RESUMO

O herpes genital uma doena altamente contagiosa que persiste por toda a vida, costumando

reaparecer periodicamente. O HSV2 - Herpes simplex vrus II o agente etiolgico da

mesma. A forma inicial de contgio a relao sexual com pessoas que estejam com herpes

genital em atividade. A infeco atinge pessoas de qualquer idade e geralmente se manifesta

atravs de surtos. Apesar de quase 90% da populao mundial ser exposta ao vrus, apenas40% desenvolve a doena. Alm do sol, o estresse, a queda da defesa imunolgica, as

infeces concomitantes e at deficincia alimentar contribuem para que a doena se

manifeste. As infeces pelo herpes simples vrus apresentam-se como desafios, cada vez

maiores, para diversas reas da medicina, por serem dotadas de vrias peculiaridades. Dentre

elas, cita-se a capacidade do vrus permanecer em latncia por longos perodos de tempo,

podendo sofrer reativao peridica, gerando doena clnica ou sub-clnica. O exame fsico

o meio fundamental para o diagnstico da infeco. O exame de laboratrio pode ser feito por

citodiagnstico, bipsia e cultura entre outros. Nas fases ativas da doena, o tratamento

sintomtico, sendo utilizados analgsicos, antiinflamatrios e antipirticos. A pesquisa foi

realizada puramente atravs de referncias bibliogrficas de autores nacionais e internacionais

e via Internet. O interesse decorreu da confirmao da inexistncia de um tratamento paracurar definitivamente a doena. O objetivo do trabalho o conhecimento das formas de

infeco, manifestao e incidncia do vrus na populao mundial. O estudo revelou que

hoje, o que se busca diminuir as manifestaes e aumentar o intervalo das crises, pois ainda

no existe nenhum tipo de teraputica que elimine totalmente o vrus do organismo.

ABSTRACT

Genital herpes is highly contagious disease which persists for a life time, normally breaking

out time after time. The HSV2 - simplex herpes virus II is its etiological agent. The initial way

of contagious is the sexual relationship with people who are with the genital herpes active.

The infection, that reaches people at any age, is generally expressed through bouts. Although

almost 90% of the population is exposed to the virus, only 40% develops the disease. Besidessun, stress, decrease in immunological defenses, the concomitant infection and even an

alimentary deficiency contribute for the disease to turn up. The infections by the herpes virus

present themselves as defiance, each time stronger, for the diverse areas of medicine, by

being, gifted by various peculiarities. Among them, it shows up with the viruses' capacity to

stay in the state of latency for long periods of time, being able to suffer periodic reactivations,

generating, clinical or sub-clinical disease. The physical exam is fundamental for the infection

diagnostics. The laboratory exam could be done by the citodiagnostic, biopsy and culture

among others. In the active phases of the disease, the treatment is symptomatic, making use of

analgesics, antiinflammatories and antipyretics. The research was carried out simply by

bibliographical references of national and international authors and by internet. The interest

came from the confirmation of nonexistence of a treatment to definitely heal this disease. Theobject of this research is the knowledge of the infection forms, appearance en incidence of the

virus in the global population. The study revealed that today, what its search is to reduce the

manifestation and extended the interval of the crises, once that it doesn't exist yet any kind of

therapeutics to extinguish totally the virus from the organism.
