22 - 157A Versatile Synthesis of Acridine-1,9-diones. — Michael addi-tion of alkenes to 2-ethoxycarbonylmethylquinolin-4-one (I) and subsequentPPA-induced cyclization of the thus obtained C-α- alkylated products (cf.(III), (VI)) provides a new and general route to acridine-1,9-diones (cf.
