GUIÓN TEMÁTICO
Esta secuencia didáctica abarca contenidos de los bloques 1 (Proceso de resolución de problemas tecnológicos), 2 (Expresión y comunicación técnica), 3
(Materiales de uso técnico) y 6 (Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación), según Orden de 14 de Julio de 2016, por la que se desarrolla el currículo
correspondiente a la ESO en Andalucía. A lo largo de la unidad didáctica, el alumnado deberá conocer la función de la tecnología como disciplina que
resuelve problemas del ser humano, analizará la influencia de la tecnología en diversos sectores de la sociedad y debatirá sobre la necesidad de un
desarrollo sostenible. Finalmente, se estudiarán las distintas fases del método de proyectos técnicos, que podrán aplicar mediante el diseño y construcción de
un organizador de escritorio con materiales reutilizados. La unidad didáctica se desarrollará al comienzo del curso y será de larga duración, ya que es el
primer contacto del alumnado con la materia de Tecnología y además en esta unidad didáctica se trabajarán los “cimientos” cognitivos y procedimentales
de la materia.
METODOLOGÍA
Se diseñarán actividades de introducción, desarrollo y consolidación para cada uno de los contenidos de la unidad, favoreciendo así el aprendizaje
significativo (scaffolding). Entre las actividades de introducción se encontrarán aquellas que permitan el aprendizaje del vocabulario que requerirán utilizar. Se
buscará un equilibrio en el número de actividades o tareas que trabajen las 5 destrezas (hablar, escuchar, interactuar, leer y escribir), y habrá actividades que
el alumnado realizará individualmente, otras en pequeños grupos y otras en gran grupo. La tarea final consistirá en un proyecto técnico (diseño y construcción
de un organizador de escritorio), y los resultados (presentación y objeto construido) serán expuestos en el sitio web del centro.
Se utilizarán recursos TIC (imágenes, presentaciones, mapas conceptuales, vídeos, animaciones, actividades interactivas, etc.), tanto para la explicación de
los contenidos como para la realización de las tareas.

cada una de ellas, investigando su influencia en la

punto de vista de su utilidad como de su posible

proyectos técnicos y trabajando en equipo, una maqueta de
organizador de escritorio que da solución a un problema técnico,
utilizando materiales adecuados (preferentemente reutilizados).
EA 1.2.2. Reconoce y respeta las principales normas de seguridad
e higiene en el aula-taller de Tecnología, así como las normas de
seguridad en el manejo de herramientas.
EA 1.3.1. Elabora un documento técnico (Memoria) que recoja los
apartados necesarios, con el suficiente orden y limpieza.
EA 1.4.1. Emplea las TIC para buscar o compartir información, y
para elaborar y/o presentar la Memoria a sus compañeros.
EA 1.5.1. Conoce la función de la tecnología como disciplina que
pretende construir objetos o sistemas que resuelvan algún
problema del ser humano.

ACTIVITY 12. MAKING DRAWINGS OR SIGNS ABOUT SAFETY AND HYGIENE RULES IN THE CLASSROOM WORKSHOP
In pairs, students will make a drawing or a sign representing a safety or hygiene
rule of the previous activity. Then, they will have to present their picture to the
rest of the class. Finally, the teacher will laminate all the drawings or signs and
they will be exposed in the classroom workshop’s walls.
ACTIVITY 13. MAKING A TECHNOLOGICAL PROJECT. 1st stage: Analyze a problem to solve and searching for information.
In the computer room, each work team (composed of 3 students) will search
for information on the internet in order to design and build a desk organizer that
allows having organized all the school materials of a student.
The project’s constraints are:
- The dimensions cannot exceed 30 x 30 x 20 cm.
- The object will be made mostly of reused or recycled materials.
- The project won’t take longer than 6 classes.

ACTIVITY 15. MAKING A TECHNOLOGICAL PROJECT. 2nd stage: Designing possible solutions and choosing the best one.
In the classroom workshop, each work team will make some sketches of
different designs for the desk organizer. Then, they will choose the best one
according to the F.A.C.E. value (Functionality, Aesthetics, Construction and
Economics).

ACTIVITY 16. MAKING A TECHNOLOGICAL PROJECT. 3rd
stage: Full design of the solution.
In the classroom workshop, each work team will make more detailed sketches
of the desk organizer, that is, a perspective sketch, breakdown sketches with
measurements, details of the object, etc.
Each work team will collect the detailed sketches in their notebook.
ACTIVITY 17. MAKING A TECHNOLOGICAL PROJECT. 4th stage: Planning.
In the classroom workshop, each work team will make a list of the materials and
tools needed, as well as a process status sheet. This sheet includes all the
necessary steps during the construction stage, how they must be
accomplished, who is in charge of each step or part and the estimated time for
doing it.

ACTIVITY 18. MAKING A TECHNOLOGICAL PROJECT. 5th stage: Construction.
In the workshop, each work team will build the desk organizer according to the
plan established, so in this stage it is very important that students often read and
check the process status sheet. Everybody must abide by the safety and
hygiene rules in the classroom workshop, especially when handling tools or
machinery.
Each work team will write a diary of the construction process, emphasizing the
difficulties faced and how they have been overcome.
ACTIVITY 19. MAKING A TECHNOLOGICAL PROJECT. 6th stage: Evaluation.
Once the desk organizer has been built, each work team will answer these
questions:
- Does the object meet the imposed constraints?
- Does the object solve the problem raised?
- Is the object resistant or tough?
- Is the object nice enough?

In the computer room, each work team will prepare a slideshow of the whole
technological project, using the LibreOffice Impress software. Then, they will
make an oral presentation to the rest of the class.

Once you’ve watched the video, students may answer this to the question
What is technology?
Technologies are things created by humans (that makes life easier or solves a
problem).
Then, the teacher asks the students to write this definition in their notebook:
“Technology is the practical application of knowledge (science) and skills
(techniques) to create solutions which satisfy our needs or solve our problems “
Finally, students have to combine both definitions. One model answer could be:
“Technology is the practical application of knowledge (science) and skills
(techniques) to create things that solve a problem or satisfy a need”.

ACTIVITY 11. FILL IN THE BLANKS OF A TEXT ABOUT THE SAFETY AND HIGIENE RULES
1. Come into the classroom workshop quietly and with your teacher’s permission.
2. To work, you have to be in good physical and mental health (to have eaten or
slept enough, etc.)
3. Be familiar with the classroom workshop. People shouldn’t move around the
workshop unnecessarily.
4. Wear proper clothing (e.g. don’t wear jackets or coats) so that you can move
freely and comfortably.
5. Before you use a tool, make sure they are in good condition. If not, tell
immediately your teacher.
6. Learn how to use each tool before you use it, following the specific safety rules.
Ask your teacher first, then use it.
7. Keep your hands clean and dry.
8. Use the right tool for each task.
9. Use the right safety equipment if necessary: goggles, gloves, etc.
10. In case of long hair, tie it back so as not getting caught in a tool or machine.
11. Do not use electrical machinery without a teacher’s supervision.
12. Clean and tidy up your workbench while you work: remove tolos and put them
back in their place if you are not using them.
13. Too much noise can cause aggressive behaviour, it makes hard to concentrate
and it’s annoying. Try to work in silence.
14. Do not play, run or make frights or jokes. You can cause a serious accident
when somebody is working with a tool or machine.
15. Inform your teacher immediately of any injury (cut, burns, small pieces in your
eye, etc.)
