- EL CENSO DEL 2020

Abril 2020
Durante las últimas semanas, hemos
sido propulsados ante la pandemia de
COVID-19. Todo el país ha tenido que
ajustar las prioridades y aceptar una
nueva normalidad en nuestra vida
cotidiana. Esto incluye la instrucción
en el aula y el aprendizaje estudiantil.
Al igual que los distritos escolares
de todo el país, las Escuelas Públicas
del Condado Miami-Dade (M-DCPS),
sus estudiantes, maestros y padres
de familia han tenido que volver a
considerar los métodos tradicionales
de enseñanza y aprendizaje. La
decisión del Gobernador Ron
DeSantis de cerrar las escuelas al
menos hasta el 1º de mayo no fue
una sorpresa para nuestros líderes
escolares y del distrito. Dada la
crisis de salud en nuestra nación,
ya nos estábamos preparando para
la enseñanza y el aprendizaje a
distancia. A la velocidad de la luz,
movilizamos rápidamente los activos
técnicos y digitales del distrito para
asegurar que la instrucción sólida
continúe a pesar de la pausa que
afecta al resto del mundo.
El distrito escolar lanzó el
aprendizaje a distancia a mediados de
marzo, y continuó después del Receso
de Primavera con la implementación
completa del Plan de Continuidad de
Instrucción (ICP) 2.0 de las M-DCPS.
Bajo esta versión actualizada, se
registra la asistencia y se emiten las
calificaciones. La primera semana
terminó con un 91 por ciento de
asistencia estudiantil.
Además, los líderes de las escuelas
encuestaron a los estudiantes en
para identificar a aquellos con
necesidades de dispositivos móviles.
Hasta ahora, se han distribuido más
de 100,000 dispositivos móviles, que
incluyen teléfonos para conectividad,
para apoyar el aprendizaje a distancia
en Miami-Dade. Nuestros directores
continúan contactando a los padres
de familia para asegurarse de que
cada niño tenga las herramientas
digitales necesarias para facilitar
el aprendizaje en línea, al mismo
tiempo que hacen adaptaciones
para los estudiantes sin hogar o
que viven en campamentos de
migrantes. Reconociendo que el
aprendizaje en línea efectivo también
depende de una conectividad
confiable a la Internet, el Distrito
escolar aprovechó sus relaciones
con el sector público y privado para
garantizar que se aborden las áreas
geográficas que carecen de una
conectividad adecuada.
995-3000.
Pero tan importante como lo son los
dispositivos móviles y la tecnología,
también lo son la motivación y el
estímulo. Los padres de familia,
junto con los maestros, juegan
un papel fundamental en este
nuevo entorno de enseñanza y
aprendizaje. Es importante que los
estudiantes participen diariamente
en su aprendizaje en línea, y aunque
nuestros maestros son responsables
de impartir la instrucción, los padres
de familia son el catalizador para
garantizar que los estudiantes sigan
participando. Ahora, más que nunca,
las asociaciones de padres de familia
/ maestros / escuela son primordiales.
Este ha sido un momento
extraordinario para nuestra nación,
impactando a todas las industrias,
desde la salud hasta los negocios, desde
las finanzas hasta la educación.
ADELANTE. JUNTOS. A EDUCAR.

emocionante y significativa.

Antes de que todas las escuelas
cerraran debido a la pandemia global
del COVID-19, un día típico para
Montserrat “Montse” Hernández,
estudiante de octavo grado,
comenzaría con su llegada al Centro
de Educación de Kindergarten a
8º grado Bob Graham Education
Center K-8, apresurándose a su aula
de primer período para cumplir con
su asistencia a clases, reunirse con
amigos, asistir a sus clases favoritas,
Álgebra 1 e Historia Mundial y hacerle
muchas preguntas a sus maestros
mientras explicaban todo lo que había
en la pizarra ese día.
Ahora, una de las diferencias con el
Aprendizaje a Distancia es que puede
terminar tranquilamente su desayuno
antes de ingresar a sus clases
virtuales. La joven de 13 años, que
asistirá al programa de Estudios del
Cumplimiento de la Ley / Inteligencia
de la escuela secundaria Barbara
Goleman Senior High el próximo
año, se conecta con sus compañeros
de clase con la aplicación Zoom y
también le da la oportunidad de
hablar con sus maestros durante
la clase.
“Yo utilizo Edmodo con todos mis
maestros.
generosamente proporcionan acceso
gratuito a servicios de contenido
que normalmente hay que pagar.
El Distrito también ha incluido
materiales de alta calidad, alineados
con los estándares, que beneficiarán a
maestros y estudiantes.

“Las Escuelas Públicas del Condado
Miami-Dade han hecho un trabajo
maravilloso al equipar a todos los
maestros con las herramientas
necesarias y las oportunidades de
desarrollo profesional para que el
aprendizaje a distancia sea un éxito”,
dice Vanessa Valle, Maestra del Año
2021 del Distrito.
“La Educación a Distancia nos ha
presentado a todos un desafío”, dice
Valle, entrenadora de alfabetización,
Jefa del Departamento de Lectura
y maestra principal de la Academia
de Derecho de la escuela secundaria
Hialeah Gardens Senior High. “Los
maestros, estudiantes y padres de
familia se han enfrentado a tener
que pensar de manera innovadora y
hacer que las ideas se logren. Como
educadores, estamos equipados con el
impulso innato para hacer que las cosas
funcionen porque nos preocupamos
por nuestros estudiantes”.
La comunicación es esencial en
el aprendizaje en línea. El ICP
2.0 incluye información sobre la
plataforma de elección del Distrito,
Microsoft Teams. Esta aplicación está
disponible a través de los portales
para estudiantes y empleados y
proporciona comunicaciones seguras
entre maestros y estudiantes. El
sitio web de ICP 2.0 también incluye
información sobre la aplicación
de videoconferencias Zoom Video
Conferencing, que también está
disponible a través de Microsoft
Teams. Muchos maestros han optado
por usar Zoom, que proporciona una
plataforma de comunicaciones simple
y robusta. La integración de Teams
y Zoom permite a los maestros que
utilicen la funcionalidad de Zoom
en un entorno seguro establecido
mediante la integración de Zoom en
Teams y al requerir la autenticación de
Microsoft Teams / Office 365.
El Distrito continúa ofreciendo a
los maestros oportunidades para
el desarrollo profesional durante
este tiempo. Incluido en ICP 2.0 se
encuentra en el Menú PD de Apoyo
con el Aprendizaje a Distancia que
enumera más de 40 ofertas de
desarrollo profesional disponibles
para maestros y que cubren temas
como navegar en sus aulas de manera
remota, explorar las mejores prácticas
para la educación a distancia y mejorar
la comunicación y colaboración con
colegas y estudiantes. La Sra. Valle es
optimista sobre cómo los estudiantes
y los maestros están expuestos a
herramientas tecnológicas innovadoras
para aprovechar las circunstancias al
máximo.
“Desde mi experiencia personal,
los estudiantes laboran enérgica y
definitivamente están aprendiendo.
En esto, todos hemos aprendido
a convertirnos en comunicadores
expertos.

nuestra comunidad, repartiendo
comidas en 50 recintos escolares. El
73 por ciento de los estudiantes de las
M-DCPS reciben el almuerzo escolar
gratuito o a precio reducido, lo cual
demuestra la alarmante inseguridad
alimenticia en el Sur de la Florida.
“Estaremos con nuestra comunidad,
durante esta crisis, en cada paso”,
dijo el Superintendente de Escuelas
Alberto M. Carvalho. “Quiero
destacar los valientes hombres y
mujeres de las Escuelas Públicas del
Condado Miami-Dade que mantienen
la línea a la distribución de comidas
para los más necesitados de nuestra
comunidad y agradecer a tantos
donantes y socios generosos que
apoyan nuestros esfuerzos”.
También las M-DCPS se han
asociado con donantes individuales,
organizaciones y restaurantes
locales para proporcionar miles
de comidas adicionales a niños y
familias.
entregan comidas calientes y bolsas
de productos vegetales frescos
a familias. Desde el 25 de marzo,
el inicio del programa Meals-on-
the-Go, se han entregado miles
de comidas calientes a hogares en
nuestras comunidades más frágiles.
La asociación ya ha acumulado más
de 500,000 dólares. Para informarse
más sobre cómo puede apoyar
este esfuerzo, visite http://www.
giveourstudentstheworld.org/.
Además de la distribución de
comidas en los recintos escolares;
las organizaciones asociadas a las
M-DCPS ayudarán. La distribución de
comidas también está disponible por
parte de los siguientes socios:
• Share Your Heart
• Farm Share
• Feeding South Florida
El compromiso del Distrito a
proporcionar seguridad alimenticia
a nuestros estudiantes y familias no
ha cambiado. Para más información

CONNECTION A NEWSLETTER FOR MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS PARENTS
INSIDE THIS ISSUE:
- FEEDING OUR COMMUNITY
- DISTANCE LEARNING
- CENSUS 2020
Volume 12 | Issue #62 |
April 2020
For the past several weeks, we have
been thrust into the throes of the
COVID-19 pandemic. The entire
country has had to adjust priorities
and accept a new normal to our
daily lives. This includes classroom
instruction and student learning.
Like school districts across the
nation, Miami-Dade County Public
Schools (M-DCPS), its students,
teachers, and parents have had
to rethink traditional methods of
teaching and learning. Governor Ron
DeSantis’ decision to close schools
through at least May 1 came as no
surprise to our district and school
leaders. Given the health crisis
upon our nation, we were already
preparing for remote teaching and
learning. In light speed, we quickly
mobilized the district’s technical and
digital assets to ensure that robust
instruction continues despite the
pause impacting the rest
of the world.
The school district launched
distance learning in mid-March, and
it continued following the Spring
Recess with full implementation of
the M-DCPS Instructional Continuity
Plan (ICP) 2.0. Under this upgraded
version, attendance is recorded and
grades are issued. The first week
ended with 91 percent student
attendance. The plan is available
for viewing at icp.dadeschools.net.
Teachers received comprehensive
online professional development
training, equipping them with the
knowledge and tools needed for
successful digital instruction.
Additionally, school site leaders
surveyed students at their schools
to identify those with mobile device
needs. More than 100,000 mobile
devices, including phones for
connectivity, have been distributed
to support distance learning in
Miami-Dade thus far. Our principals
continue to contact parents to
ensure that every child has the
needed digital tools to facilitate
online learning, while also making
accommodations for students who
are homeless or live in migrant camps.
Recognizing that effective online
learning also depends on reliable
Internet connectivity, the school
District leveraged its relationships
with the private and public sectors
to ensure geographic areas that lack
proper connectivity are addressed.
Parents with questions about how
to obtain a device or support for
connectivity should email their child’s
school principal or call our support
line at 305-995-3000.
But as important as mobile devices
and technology are, so too are
motivation and encouragement.
Parents, along with teachers, play
a pivotal role in this new teaching
and learning environment. It’s
important that students engage
daily in their online learning, and
while our teachers are responsible
for delivering instruction, parents
are the catalyst to ensure that
students remain engaged. Now, more
than ever, parent/teacher/school
partnerships are paramount.
And while COVID-19 has forced us
to drastically augment our virtual
engagement, it has not diminished
our spirit of community.
From distributing mobile devices
to handing out more than 850,000
grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches,
our workforce has risen to the
occasion to help our students and
their families. We are accomplishing
all of this responsibly, adhering to
the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention’s (CDC) social distancing
guidelines.

This has been an extraordinary time
for our nation, impacting every
industry from health to business to
finance to education. We have been
forced to navigate untested and
uncharted waters. From day one,
M-DCPS has focused on ensuring
that instruction remains consistent
and is made available to every child.
While the lift has been heavy, the
love, support, and solidarity have
been overwhelming. Knowing that
our students’ educational journey
continues even through this
pandemic is more than gratifying
– it’s awe-inspiring. The resolve of
any community and its residents is
revealed in times of challenge and
adversity. Miami-Dade has shown
its strength and compassion. We
continue to deliver on our promise of
a world-class education because of
the leadership of our Superintendent,
School Board, committed teachers,
school-site leaders and District
workforce, as well as our parents, and
community and business partners.
And while no one knows what the
future holds, the path forward is clear.
We must continue to work together
to provide students with a learning
experience that is exciting and
meaningful.

Before all schools were closed due
to the COVID-19 global pandemic, a
typical day for 8th-grader Montserrat
“Montse” Hernandez would begin
with her arriving at Bob Graham
Education Center K-8, hurrying off
to her first period home room class
for attendance, meeting with friends,
attending her favorite classes –
Algebra 1 and World History – and
asking her teachers lots of questions
while they explained everything that
was on the board that day.
Now, one of the differences with
Distance Learning is she can
calmly finish her breakfast before
entering her virtual classes. The
13-year old, who will be attending
Barbara Goleman Senior High’s Law
Enforcement/Intelligence Studies
program next year, connects with her
classmates with the Zoom app and it
also gives her a chance to talk to her
teachers during the class.
“I use Edmodo for all my teachers. In
my personal opinion, this program is
excellent because I can communicate
with them very easily,” she said.
Like many students in Miami-Dade
County Public Schools (M-DCPS),
Montse was already familiar with
online applications. She explained
that she does all her homework
using i-Ready, Edgenuity and other
programs
“Even though I prefer attending
school because it’s not the same as
when you’re sitting in a classroom, in
this moment, Virtual School is very
beneficial for me and all the students
because it’s permitting us to keep
on learning and it’s giving us the
opportunity to finish the school year.”
As school systems around the country
continue to navigate these uncharted
waters due to the global pandemic,
M-DCPS has taken additional steps to
support students, teachers, schools
and community.
Shifting from classroom teaching
to online teaching has been an
adjustment, no doubt, but with a little
planning and practice, it can be done.
The District has identified digital
resources such as Edgenuity, Gizmos,
i-Ready, and Class Dojo among others,
that teachers can use to deliver
core content. However, there also
are digital resources that provide
students with assignments during
school closures.
The Instructional Continuity Plan
(ICP) 2.0 keeps track of attendance
and grades are recorded. Information
on available resources for students
and teachers to use during this
time has been updated and many
publishers are generously providing
free access to normally fee-based
content. The District has also included
high quality, standards-aligned
materials, which will benefit teachers
and students.

“Miami-Dade County Public Schools
has done a wonderful job at equipping
all teachers with the necessary
tools and professional development
opportunities to make distance
learning a success,” says Vanessa Valle,
the District’s 2021 Teacher of the
Year.
“Distance learning has presented
us all with a challenge,” says Valle,
who is the literacy coach, Reading
Department chair and Lead teacher
for Hialeah Gardens Senior High’s
Law Academy. “Teachers, students
and parents have been faced with
having to think out-of-the-box and
make things happen. As educators, we
are equipped with the innate drive to
make things happen because we care
for our students.”
Communication is essential in online
learning. ICP 2.0 includes information
about the District’s platform of
choice, Microsoft Teams. This app is
available through the student and
employee portals and provides secure
communications between teachers
and students. The ICP 2.0 website
also includes information about Zoom
Video Conferencing, which is also
available through Microsoft Teams.
Many teachers have opted to use
Zoom, which provides a simple and
robust communications platform. The
integration of Teams and Zoom allows
teachers to use the functionality
of Zoom in a secure environment
established through the integration
of Zoom into Teams and by requiring
Microsoft Teams/Office 365
authentication.
The District continues to offer
teachers opportunities for
professional development during
this time. Included in ICP 2.0 is
the Distance Learning Support PD
Menu that lists over 40 professional
development offerings available
to teachers and covering topics
such as navigating their remote
classrooms, exploring best practices
for distance learning, and improving
communication and collaboration with
colleagues and students. The selection
of webinars or videos – both District-
created or collaboratively produced
with our partner content providers
– are available through the employee
portal. Teachers can participate on
the dates and times that work best for
them.
Valle is optimistic with how students
and teachers are being exposed to
innovative technology tools to make
the best of the circumstances.
“From my personal experience,
students are working hard and
definitely learning. In this, we
have all learned to become expert
communicators. Communication has
driven the success of the program
in place. M-DCPS has united
and demonstrated the power of
collaboration, empathy, and the love
that exists in our community. “
The 2020 Census is in full swing! The
census counts everyone in the United
States and is used to determine
congressional representation and
how more than $675 billion in federal
funds are distributed each year to
support vital programs in Miami-
Dade County. These funds shape
local healthcare, housing, education,
transportation, employment, and
public policy. The 2020 Census will
shape the future of our community—
for the next 10 years.
Be sure to count everyone living in
your home including kids, parents
and grandparents on your 2020

newborn babies and young children as
it impacts programs such as children’s
health insurance, hospitals, child care,
food assistance and early childhood
development.

Since the beginning of school
closures on March 16 due to
COVID-19, Miami-Dade County
Public Schools (M-DCPS) has
distributed more than a million
“grab-and-go” meals to families in
need throughout the district.
M-DCPS employees have answered
the call to assist during this time
of strain in our community, passing
out meals at 50 select school sites.
Seventy-three percent of M-DCPS
students receive free or reduced-
price lunch, which demonstrates the
alarming food insecurity in South
Florida.
“We will be with our community,
through this crisis, every step of the
way,” said Schools Superintendent
Alberto M. Carvalho. “I want to
shine the spotlight on the brave men
and women of Miami-Dade County
Public Schools who maintain the
lifeline of food distribution to the
neediest in our community and
thank the many generous donors
and partners who support our
efforts.”
M-DCPS has also partnered
with individual donors, local
organizations and restaurateurs
to provide thousands of additional
meals to children and families.
With the dollars donated, food
is purchased from restaurants,
supporting the hospitality
industry and the local economy
while delivering hot meals and
bags of fresh produce to families.
Since March 25, the inception of
the Meals-on-the-Go program,
thousands of hot meals have
been delivered to homes in our
most fragile communities. The
partnership has already raised
more than $500,000. To learn

In addition to the ongoing feedings
at school sites, M-DCPS partner
organizations are assisting in
our efforts to ensure no child or

aprantisaj tradisyonèl la. Desizyon
Gouvènè Ron DeSantis pou li fèmen
lekòl pou omwen jiska 1ye me pa t
siprann distri nou an ak lidè lekòl
yo ditou. Lè nou konsidere kriz
sante peyi nou an ap konfwonte
a, nou te deja pare pou ansèyman
ak aprantisaj a distans. San pèdi
tan, nou te tousuit mobilize resous
teknik ak dijital distri a pou nou asire
n edikasyon solid kontinye malgre
poz ki ap afekte rès mond lan.
Distri lekòl la te lanse aprantisaj
a distans nan mitan mwa mas, e li
te kontinye suiv vakans ete a avèk
enplemantasyon konplè
“Instructional Continuity Plan (ICP)
2.0” (Plan Kontinite Enstriksyonèl
2.0) M-DCPS la. Anba nouvo vèsyon
an, nou fè apèl e nou bay nòt.
Premye semèn nan te fini avèk 91
pousan prezans. Plan an disponib
pou moun gade nan icp.dadeschools.
net. Pwofesè yo te resevwa
fòmasyon pwofesyonèl konplè sou
Entènèt, ki ekipe yo avèk konesans e
zouti yo bezwen pou yo ka gen siksè
nan enstriksyon dijital la.
Anplis, lidè nan andwa lekòl yo te
fè sondaj sou elèv nan lekòl yo pou
idantifye sa ki te bezwen aparèy
mobil. Nou distribye plis pase
100,000 aparèy mobil, ki gen ladan
telefòn pou konektivite, pou sipòte
aprantisaj a distans nan Miami-Dade
jiska prezan. Direktè/tris nou yo
kontinye kontakte paran pou asire
chak elèv gen aparèy dijital li bezwen
pou fasilite aprantisaj sou Entènèt
la, pandan yo ap fè akomodasyon
pou elèv ki sanzabri oubyen ki ap viv
nan kan pou migran. Nan rekonèt
aprantisaj sou Entènèt depann tou
de bonjan konektivite Entènèt,
Distri lekòl la te pwofite relasyon li
avèk sektè prive e piblik yo pou asire
yo adrese zòn jewografik ki manke
bonjan konektivite. Paran ki gen
kesyon sou kòman pou jwenn yon
aparèy oubyen sipò pou konektivite
ta dwe imèl direktè/tris lekòl pitit
yo a oubyen rele liy sipò nou an nan
305-995-3000.
Men otan aparèy mobil ak teknoloji
enpòtan, se konsa tou motivasyon
ak ankourajman enpòtan. Paran,
ansanm avèk pwofesè, jwe yon
gwo wòl nan nouvo anviwònman
ansèyman ak aprantisaj sa a. Li
enpòtan pou elèv yo angaje yo chak
jou nan aprantisaj sou Entènèt, e
pandan pwofesè nou yo responsab
pou bay enstriksyon, paran yo se
poto mitan pou asire elèv yo rete
angaje. Kounye a, patenarya paran/
pwofesè/lekòl gen plis enpòtans
pase toutan.
E pandan COVID-19 fòse nou pou
n angaje nou a distans, li pa diminye
espri kominotè a.
Kòmanse sou distribisyon aparèy
mobil rive nan bay plis pase 850,000
dejene ak repa midi “grab-and-go”
(pran e ale), anplwaye nou yo montre
yo nan nivo pou ede elèv nou yo ak
fanmi yo. Nou ap fè tout bagay sa
yo avèk responsablite, nan aplike
machasuiv distans sosyal “Centers
for Disease Control and Prevention’s
(CDC)” (Sant pou Kontwòl ak
Prevansyon Maladi) yo.

Sa se yon tan ekstrawòdinè pou
peyi nou an, ki afekte chak endistri
soti nan sante pase nan biznis ale

nou travèse moman ki difisil e san

te konsantre sou asire enstriksyon
rete konsistan e disponib pou
chak timoun. Pandan li te difisil
pou n kòmanse, lanmou, sipò, ak

enspire anpil grandè. Detèminasyon

Avan tout lekòl te fèmen akoz
pandemi global COVID-19 la, yon
jou nòmal pou elèv 8èm ane eskole
Montserrat “Montse” Hernandez t
ap kòmanse nan moman li rive nan
Bob Graham Education Center K-8,
nan prese pou li ale nan premye
peryòd klas li pou prezans, rankont
avèk zanmi, patisipe nan klas prefere
li – Aljèb ak Istwa Mondyal – e poze
pwofesè li anpil kesyon pandan y ap
esplike sa ki sou tablo a nan jou sa a.
Kounye a, youn nan diferans avèk
Ansèyman a Distans la sèke li ka fini
dejne li san prese, avan li antre nan
klas sou Entènèt li a. Elèv 13 an sa
a, ki pral antre nan pwogram Etid
Aplikasyon Lalwa/Envestigasyon
nan Lekòl Segondè Barbara Goleman
ane pwochèn, konekte avèk kondisip
li avèk aplikasyon Zoom nan e sa
ba li tou yon chans pou l pale avèk
pwofesè li pandan klas la.
Li di, “Mwen itilize Edmodo pou tout
pwofesè m yo. Nan opinyon pa mwen,
pwogram sa a ekselan paske mwen ka
kominike avèk yo trè fasilman.”
Tankou anpil elèv nan “Miami-Dade
County Public Schools (MDCPS)”
(Lekòl Leta Miami-Dade County),
Montse te deja abitye avèk lekòl sou
Entènèt. Li esplike li fè tout devwa li
nan itilize i-Ready, Edgenuity ak lòt
pwogram.
“Menmsi mwen prefere ale nan lekòl
paske se pa menm bagay avèk lè ou
chita nan yon salklas, nan moman sa
a, Lekòl sou Entènèt ofri mwen menm
ak tout lòt elèv yo anpil benefis paske
li ap pèmèt nou kontinye aprann e
l ap ba nou opòtinite pou n fini ane
lekòl la.”
Pandan sistèm lekòl atravè peyi a
kontinye ap navige nan sitiyasyon
difisil akoz pandemi global la,
M-DCPS pran lòt etap pou sipòte
elèv, pwofesè, lekòl ak kominote a.
Chanjman pou soti nan ansèyman
nan salklas pou ansèyman sou
Entènèt se yon ajisteman, sètènman,
men avèk yon ti planifikasyon ak
pratik, li ka fèt. Distri a te idantifye
resous tankou Edgenuity, Gizmos,
i-Ready, ak Class Dojo, pami kèk lòt,
pwofesè kapab itilize pou anseye
kontni debaz yo. Sepandan, gen
resous dijital tou ki ofri elèv travay
pou yo fè pandan fèmti lekòl la.
“Instructional Continuity Plan (ICP)”
(Plan Kontinite Enstriksyonèl) 2.0
a suiv prezans elèv e li anrejistre
nòt yo tou. Nou mete enfòmasyon
sou resous ki disponib pou elèv ak
pwofesè itilize pandan epòk sa a
ajou e anpil mezon edisyon, avèk
jenewozite, ofri aksè gratis sou
kontni ki nòmalman mande pou
peye. Distri a itilize tou materyèl bon
kalite, estandadize, ki pral pote anpil
benefis pou pwofesè ak elèv.

Vanessa Valle, Meyè Pwofesè Distri a
pou 2021 di, “Lekòl Leta Miami-Dade
County fè yon travay ekstrawòdinè
nan bay tout pwofesè zouti ki nesesè
ansanm ak opòtinite devlopman
pwofesyonèl pou fè ansèyman a
distans la vin yon siksè.”
Valle, ki se pwofesè lekti/ekriti,
chèmann Depatman Lekti e pwofesè
Anchèf pou Akademi Dwa nan
Lekòl Segondè Hialeah Gardens di,
“Pwofesè, elèv ak paran ap fè fas ak
yon sitiyasyon kote yo dwe panse
yon fason ki endepandan epi bay
rezilta. Kòm edikatè, nou gen yon
motivasyon anndan nou pou nou bay
rezilta paske nou sansib pou elèv nou
yo.”
Kominikasyon enpòtan anpil nan
aprantisaj sou Entènèt. ICP 2.0 gen
ladan enfòmasyon konsènan platfòm
prefere Distri a, ki se ‘Microsoft
Teams’. Aplikasyon sa a disponib
atravè pòtal elèv ak pòtal anplwaye
a e li ofri kominikasyon sekirize
ant pwofesè e elèv. Sit Entènèt ICP
2.0 a gen ladan tou enfòmasyon
konsènan ‘Zoom Video Conferencing’,
ki disponib tou atravè ‘Microsoft
Teams’.
Anpil pwofesè chwazi itilize
Zoom, ki ofri yon platfòm solid
pou kominikasyon. Entegrasyon
Teams ak Zoom pèmèt pwofesè
itilize fonksyonalite Zoom nan yon
anviwònman ki sekirize nou etabli
atravè entegrasyon Zoom anndan
Teams ki mande otantifikasyon
‘Microsoft Teams/Office 365’.
Distri a kontinye ofri pwofesè yo
opòtinite devlopman pwofesyonèl
pandan epòk sa a. Anndan ICP 2.0 a
genyen tou Meni Sipò pou Ansèyman
a Distans ‘PD’ ki gen yon lis plis pase
40 òf devlopman pwofesyonèl ki
disponib pou pwofesè e ki kouvri
sijè tankou dirije salklas a distans,
eksplore meyè pratik pou ansèyman a
distans, e amelyore kominikasyon ak
kolaborasyon avèk kolèg ak elèv yo.
Seleksyon atelye sou Entènèt oubyen
videyo – Distri a kreye oubyen ki fèt
an kolaborasyon avèk patnè ki ap ofri
nou kontni yo – disponib atravè pòtal
anplwaye a. Pwofesè ka patisipe nan
dat ak lè ki pi bon pou yo.
Valle optimis sou fason elèv ak
pwofesè ekspoze ak zouti aprantisaj
teknolojik ki inovatif pou yo ka jwenn
meyè rezilta nan sikonstans sa a.
“Nan eksperyans pèsonèl mwen,
elèv yo ap travay di e definitivman,
y ap aprann. Nan sitiyasyon sa a,
nou tout aprann pou n vin ekspè nan
kominikasyon. Se kominikasyon ki
alabaz siksè pwogram ki an plas la.
M-DCPS konbine e demontre pouvwa
kolaborasyon, konpreyansyon, ak
lanmou ki egziste nan kominote nou
an . “
