数えられない名詞 × the water water

①a/an は、「１つの」という意味で、「数えられる名詞」の単数形と結びつき、複数形や数えられない名詞とは結びつきません。the は、話の中にすでに出てきているもの・こと・人、あるいは、もともと１つしかないもの・こと・人などと結びつきます。

・I want to buy a desk in this shop. The desk in the corner is my favorite. ・We drink water from Rokko Mountain. The water is very delicious.

② 数えられない名詞とは、水、自然、情報など、どこからどこまで区切ったら良いのかはっきりしない名詞のことです。
