Arab RootsMany scholars believe our forefathers left the Horn of Africa and headed north, which w
take them to what is now Egypt. From there, it is theorised, they spread through North Africa the Levant to the rest of the world. But another theory suggests the world's first moimmigrants might have taken a different route: the so-called southern route through Yemen aacross the Arabian Peninsula. This would mean that most non-Africans in the world descended from those pioneers who made their home in what are now Arab lands.
In historical race classifications, the Semitic peoples are considered to be of Caucasoid ty
not dissimilar in appearance to the neighbouring Indo-European, Northwest Caucasian, Berband Kartvelian speaking peoples of the region. Some recent genetic studies have found analysis of the DNA of Semitic-speaking peoples) that they have some common ancestry. Genestudies indicate that modern Jews, Assyrians, Samaritans, Syriacs-Arameans, Maronites, DruzMandaeans, Mhallami and Arabs from the regions north of the Arabian Peninsula all haveancient indigenous common Near Eastern heritage which can be genetically mapped back to thancient Fertile Crescent, but often also display genetic profiles distinct from one anoindicating the different histories of these peoples.

Arab RootsMuch of the information available relating to the early lineages of the predominantly desert-dwelling Bedouin Arab
based on biblical genealogy. The general consensus among 14th-century Arabic genealogists was that Arabs areof three kinds:
1. Perishing Arabs : These are the ancients of whose history little is known. They include Jadis, Imlaq and others. Jadis and Tasm perished because of genocide. d and Thamud peristheir decadence. Some people in the past doubted their existence, but Imlaq is the singular form of 'Amal
and is probably synonymous to the biblical Amalek.
2. Pure Arabs : They allegedly originated from the progeny of Yarub bin Yashjub bin Qahtan so wQahtanite Arabs.
3. Arabized Arabs : They allegedly originated from the progeny of Ishmael (Ism'l), son of theandIslamic prophet, Abraham (Ibrhm), and were also called Adnan.
The several different Bedouin tribes throughout Arabian history are traditionally regarded as having emerfrom two main branches: the Rabi`ah, from which amongst others the Banu Hanifa emerged, and the Mudhfrom which amongst others the Banu Kinanah (and later Muhammad's own tribe, the Quraysh) emerged.

Arab RootsIn Islam, Arabs consider Ishmael as their ancestor. He is a figure in the Hebr
Bible and the Qur'an, and was Abraham's first son according to Jews, Christians an
Muslims. Ishmael was born of Abraham's marriage to Sarah's handmaiden Haga
According to the Genesis account, he died at the age of 137.
Ishmael is recognized by Muslims as the forefather of Muhammad. Muslims abelieve that Muhammad was the descendant of Ishmael that would establish a greanation, as promised by God in the Old Testament.
And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fand will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of 12 rulers, and I make them into a great nation.

Arab Roots
Prior to the 20th century, Arab designated the bedouin, tribasociety of the Arabian desert, which is the birthplace of Arabic. Historigenerally agree that the ancient Semitic peoples Assyrians, AramaeanCanaanites (including the Phoenicians and Hebrews) and, later, the Arabthemselves migrated into the area of the Fertile Crescent after successivcrises of overpopulation in the Peninsula beginning in the third millennibefore the Common Era (BCE) and ending with the Muslim conquests of t7th century CE. These peoples spoke languages based on similar linguististructures, and the modern Semitic languages of Arabic, Hebrew, an
Amharic (the language of Ethiopia) maintain important similarities.

Jewish Roots According to the Hebrew Bible, all Israelites descend from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
Abraham was born in the Sumerian city of Ur Kadim, and migrated(commonly known as the Land of Israel) with his family. Aristotle believed thatJews came from India, where he said that they were known as the K
studies on Jews show that most Jews worldwide bear a common genetic heritagwhich originates in the Middle East, and that they bear their strongest resemblance tthe peoples of the Fertile Crescent. According to archaeologists, however,
culture did not overtake the region, but rather grew out of Canaanite culture.Despite being one of the most genetically analyzed groups, the origin
European Jews has remained obscure. However, a new study argues that thEuropean Jewish genome is a mosaic of Caucasus, European, and Semitancestries, setting to rest previous contradictory reports of Jewish ancestry. Thcould have a major impact on the ways in which scientists study genetic disordewithin the population.

University of Arizona studied the Ychromosomes of 1,300 males of differentJewish groups and compared with Arabgroups
Both show Semitic origin (Near East) 70% of Israeli Jews and 82% of Palestinian
Arabs shared the same chromosome pool.
