Figure 2 Simulated IR (red) vs measured by RA-2 IR (blue) for adesert surface (Central Australia). Simulation parameters: RMS
= 1m, Off-nadir = 0.05 deg
Figure 3 Simulated IR (red) vs measured by RA-2 IR (blue) for aice surface (Antarctica). Simulation parameters: RMS = 0. 1m,
Off-nadir = 0.0 deg
Also considering SIRAL data, the simulations fit the real
altimetric data, as reported below:
Figure 4 Simulated IR (red) vs measured by SIRAL IR(blue) for a desert surface (Central Australia). Simulation
parameters: RMS = 1m, Off-nadir = 0.05 deg
Figure 5 Simulated IR (red) vs measured by SIRAL IR (blue) for aice surface (Antarctica). Simulation parameters: RMS = 0. 1m,
Off-nadir = 0.0 deg
3.1. Recursive Cryosat-2 echoes analysis
A recursive Cryosat-2 echoes analysis over a satellite pass
(~ 1000Km) over central Australia has been performed.
Groups of 5 echoes corresponding to a segment of 300 m
have been compared with model simulations. Results are
shown in Figure 6
According to the DEM [7] of the considered target (Figure
7), the topography is very irregular.
