B. What is a compound sentence?
5 It is made up of two or more sentences joined toge
by conjunctions and because or but and so
Examples:
a) The boy sings. The boy dances. The boy sings
and dances.
b) She can go to school by bus. She can go to school by
train. She can go to school by bus or train.
c) The students missed the bus. The students got up lat
The students missed the bus because they got up late
d) Tigers are wild. Cats are tame. Tigers are wild but
are tame.
e) She was cold. She covered herself with a blanket. S
