• Flamenco was created in Andalusia and it is a result of rhythmic mixture of la Jota, Cuban music, folk songs of the Andalusian farmers and Gypsies’ music from the 19th century. All these elements contributed to its particular sound. The characteristics of flamenco are the sound of guitar, clapping hands and tap dancing. In the 70s of the 20th century one more element was added, which was cajón, a traditional Peruvian percussion instrument, introduced to Flamenco by Paco de Lucía.
