collection of information, services and websites
supported by the internet.
The internet is a vast network of computers that
connects millions of people all over the world
Organisations, schools and governmentorganisations have all connected their internal

A website is a specific location on the web whereyou visit to gather information
A website address is a unique name thatidentifies a specific computer on the web This is referred to as a domain name
Eg http://www.ghanaweb.com
The domain name identifies a computer on the weband the main pages of the entire site
We usually use the term web site address instead ofdomain name.
Most website are made up of several webpages.

Every computer on the internet has a uniqueaddress known as an IP address
Internet Protocol addressis a unique numberconsisting of 4 parts separated by dots, e.g.165.113.245.2 identifying every machine that ison the Internet.
If a machine does not have an IP number, it is notreally on the Internet.

Personal blogs The personal blog, an ongoing
diary or commentary by an individual, is the
traditional, most common blog. Personal bloggers
usually take pride in their blog posts, even if theirblog is never read by anyone but them.
Sites, such as Twitter, allow bloggers to share

Corporate and organizational blogs
A blog can be private, as in most cases, or it can be forbusiness purposes.
Blogs, either used internally to enhance thecommunication and culture in a corporation orexternally for marketing, branding or public relationspurposes are called corporate blogs.
