A quick overview on Finnish RAS farms
• Current nominal capacity in farms establised prior 2015:
• seven farms with appr. 1200 tons capacity
• Two bankruptcies with capacity 190 and150 tons
• One farm building up the biomass with capacity for over 3000
tons
• Constructions starting for one farm with app. 1300 ton
capacity
• At least three other farms in licensing phase

Fifax - 3000 tn RT farm in Åland Islands
• Starting up
• Brackish water 7-8 ppm
• Discharge limit of 200 kg P and 1500 kg N
– 0.07 and 0.5 kg per tn (98-99 % reduction)

Carelian Caviar - 400 tn sturgeon farm
• In the middlle of a pulp mill area
• Farm uses pulp mill active sludge WWTP
• Each grow-out tank has its own fluidized sand bed bio
• Next to this farm, 1200 tn rainbow trout farm construction
starting this summer (Finnforel)
