SCOPE
1) This Project Design Specification (PDS) contains the Line Class 2500 tables that accompany PG-PDS 03-01-01. Additional valve information is contained in PG-PDS 03-20-10.
2) Line classes G1, G5, G11 and G18 are developed to cover the basic requirements for the design of piping systems for onshore production and processing facilities governed by ASME B31.3.
3) Line class G8 is developed to cover the basic requirements for the design of pipelines governed by AS 2885.
4) EPC4 are using line classes G1, G5, G11 and G18.
5) EPC5 are using line classes G8.

The Notes for this PDS can be found in PG-PDS 03-01-01. Additional notes that apply to this PDS are shown below:
112. Special transition pieces may be required to allow connection of ASME B36.10/B36.19 piping to API 6A flanges and other fittings in line classes containing API 6A flanges. If pipe and fittings compliant with API 6A dimensions are used, the designer must calculate the wall thicknesses required for each applicable size used.
113. ASTM-A694/A694M and MSS SP75/ASTM-A860 normalized materials shall be impact tested in accordance with the following:

118. Minimum requirements for materials, manufacture and testing of pipeline and flowline fittings and flanges installed as part of facilities piping within AS 2885 piping areas in accordance with PG-PDS 29-01-11, unless otherwise noted.
119. Butt welds between components of unequal nominal wall thickness shall comply with AS 2885. Transition pieces may be required in cases where piping components have a specified minimim yield stress lower than that of matching pipe. The internal diameter of the transition piece shall not be less than the minimum bore of the matching pipe. Weld test rings shall be supplied for weld procedure qualification.
120. Branch O-let fittings shall be designed for the pressure-temperature limits stated in the piping material classification sheets, and shall take into account the diameter, wall thickness, and material of the header pipe when determining the required branch reinforcement, whilst ensuring branch attachment welds are not excessive. Branch O-let fittings shall have a clearly designated weld line that is supported by the branch reinforcement calculation. Custom designed O-let fittings shall be supplied with area reinforcement calculations and certified dimensional drawing of the fitting, including weld detail. C Assigned to paragraphs whose primary purpose is reduced costs. Reduced cost in this context refers to initial investment cost and does not include life cycle cost considerations. Life cycle cost considerations are captured under reliability, maintainability, or operability purpose codes.
E Assigned to paragraphs whose primary purpose is driven by environmental considerations.
