ARCHITECTURE• Buildings were made with
poor-quality construction materials, such as brick, wood or plaster.
• The external decoration of the buildings were simple, but inside they were covered with marble and coloured tiles, and decorated with wood or plaster.
• Designs were usually decorations of vegetables (arabesque), geométric figures (tracery) and inscriptions from the Koran (epigraphy).
