WELCOME - a three year project financed by the CARIPLO Foundation ended in June 2013.
The project was born in 2010 to answer the needs of the Third School Complex in Pioltello. WELCOME was conceived and developed by the School and the Social Cooperative MILAGRO which collaborated as a partner.
The social cooperative MILAGRO has been working in an area east of Milan. Its main purpose is to create new social services for the young and their families and manage them in collaboration with local government and other voluntary or non-profit organizations.

A SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT SUITED TO EACH CHILD
PIOLTELLO is a town of 37.000 inhabitants. 23% of the local population is from 88 different countries.
WELCOME was set up in the Primary school and Kindergarten of “E. Bontempi” School Complex located in a neighbourhood called SATELLITE.
800 students attend this School Complex every year. 83% of them are foreign nationals.

other schools, in Pioltello and the surrounding area.
Effective sistems for integrating foreign students and preventing
drop out.
Improve the network by involving new local institutions and
organisations to consolidate and empower the social services the
schools already provide.
Build up a local network of schools, cultural associations,
the public library, the family counceling centre (ASL Mi 2) and the counseling service for
foreign citizens.
