• Massive hepatocyte necrosis sparingnarrow periportal and pericentral rims.
• Hepatocytes showed a swollenappearance but strikingly, cellremnants stayed in place, a proportionof them with ghostly nuclei.
• Councilman-like bodies could be easilyspotted.
• Hepatocytes contained cytoplasmicmacro and microvesiculation.
• Although sinusoidal congestion waspresent it wasn’t a prominent feature.
