The 29th CommencGment exercises of
Aparri
Bible
Seminary
were held
on March 4, 1983 at the Aparri Church of Christ, with Lowell Applebury of
Bakersfield, California, as guest speaker. Seven young men received diplomas
and degrees, and seven girls their Christian Education certificates. Rogelio
Guillermo left), an outstanding student and preacher, was valedictorian of the
class. He preached at the last chapel service of the Seminary.
All
these young
men are now out preaching in various places.
Harvey and Helen Beard
were presented with

Appreciation
for their three
years of dedicated
life
and teaching at the Seminary.
Their presence has been a great blessing to students
and faculty alike, and they
will
be missed greatly.
Music plays a big
part
inSeminary life Mrs. Bella
Tenorio s Voice Class presented a recital in
February. The choirs and various small groups and
soloists
had
a very successful Chr is tmas concert ,
presented
in Aparri and five
other
nearby Church
es. Roberta taught a girls trio and men s quartet
which alternated at the two high schools for the

October and March.

the
great need for more
classroom space. More than 100 students were crowded into these
and three other small
classrooms
this school
year.
As soon as the architect finishes the blueprints and a permit to
build is granted, construction
will
begin on
the
new Seminary
building. The property is paid for, fenced, and materials are being
gathered. This will be a two-story building with a large chapel,
library, recording room
and
music practice rooms, as well as six
large classrooms. It
will
provide
some room
for growth in
our

and three daughters arrived inManila on March 10,
from
Hawaii, where
they had ministered to the Waipahu church for eleven months. Exactlya month later, April 10, Romeo
Gorospe, Jr., was born to them here inAparri. Romeoand Mercy are happy to be backhome
again,
and
are
looking
forward eagerly towhat theLordhas for them todohere in
His
work
in
theyearsahead.
Mercy
will resume her work in the office later, and Romeo will be working full-time in the fieldsof evangelism and
radio.
We praise God for them and
look
forward to
working
with them here. Romeo did a good job as
manager
of
Senior camp
in April.

was given very
wonderful treatment in theBasehospital. How
lhankful we
were
for this help a nd c ar e from our U.S. government for a little
Filipino boy in
desperate
need. Romy is backhome an d improving daily as he learns all
over again to eat, walk, talk, etc. He seems very alert an d we trust

many of our high school teachers. Charles taught

Selby left April 17 for furlough. It is nearly four
years
ago that Lloyd
arrived on
a
business trip and
visit,
and th e Lord
laid it
upon
his heart
to
stay
an d fill
a
great need
in administration of
th e
over-all work.
They are
available for
speaking on
behalf of
th e Lord s work
in
Northern Luzon and
can
be
