เมอเรว ๆนผมไดรบการทาบทามจากพล.อ.ดร.บญสราง เนยมประดษฐอดตผบญชาการกองทพไทยใหรวมเปนกรรมการมลนธเสรมสรางขดความสามารถมนษย และ ไดเขารวมประชมคณะกรรมการมลนธฯครงแรกเมอวนท21 มนาคม ทผานมา ทประชมไดพดถงศนยฝกอบรม คานาอาน(CanaanTrainingCenter)ของสาธารณรฐเกาหลซงเปนสถาบนฝกผนำาคณธรรม (Spiritual Leadership) เพอนำาหลกสตรมาเปนตนแบบพฒนาหลกสตรฝกอบรมสรางผนำาในประเทศไทย ศนย ฝ กอบรมน เป นทร จกของชาวเกาหลและนานาชาตเปนอยางดในระยะแรกเมอ50ปเศษทผานมาศนยฝกนเปนการฝกดานการเกษตรอนเปนความจำาเปนเฉพาะหนา ตอมาไดปรบเปลยนจดมงหมายไปสการฝกผนำาทมคณธรรม (Spiritual Leadership) อนกอใหเกดประโยชนมากมาย ชาวเกาหลจะร จกศนยฝกนดและ เหนวามสวนสำาคญททำาใหประเทศของเขาเจรญรงเรอง ในขณะนทงประธานาธบดประธานสภาและผบรหารคนสำาคญๆ ในเกาหล รวมถงภาคเอกชนไดผานการฝกจากศนยฝกนทงสน ศนยฝกนไดสรางคนอยางไดผลทงปรมาณและคณภาพ โดยใชระยะเวลาอยางสนๆ ในชวง 50ปเศษ ศนยฝกคานาอานฝกคนไปแลวกวา 700,000คน โดยมปรชญาในการฝกอยางงายๆแตไดผลชะงดคอสอนใหเกดความคดวามนษยเกดมาตองทำางานหนก(Work)ชวยเหลอสงคมและปรนนบตคนใกลชด (Service) และเสยสละ(Sacrifice)การเปลยนแปลงไปสแนวทางดงกลาวตองทำาในระดบตวบคคลขนไปจนถงระดบชาตโดยยดหลกเปลยนทตนเองกอน(ChangeMeFirst)เปลยนทนท(ChangeNow)และเปลยนเรองใกลตวกอน(ChangeHere)เปลยนจากเลกไปหาใหญ (ChangeSmall ThingsFirst)และ งายไปหายาก (ChangeEasyThingsFirst)ผมรสกทงและประทบใจและอยากทจะเรยนรวาเขาฝกใหประสบความสำาเรจไดอยางไร พวกเราชาวทมกรปกมปรชญาการด�าเนนงานของเรา 3 ประการเชนกน คอ S-Service, Q-Quality และ T-Teamwork ซงน�ามาใชเปนเวลานานแลว และเรากประสบความส�าเรจในระดบหนง เราอยากจะเรยนรจากศนยคานาอานนวาเขามวธการอยางไร จะไดน�ามาใชกบองคกรของเราและเผยแพรตอไปใหองคกรอน ๆใหประเทศไทยมความเจรญกาวหนาตามแบบอยางประเทศเขาบาง มความคบหนาอยางไรจะน�ามาเลาสกนฟงในโอกาสตอๆ ไป
Past, Present, and Future In2014,TEAMGROUPiscelebratingits36thyear.Suchamilestoneisbothremarkableandadmirable.Initially,theGroupstartedoffasasmallfirm.Itsfound-erswerejustagroupofyoungprofessionalsbackthen.Today,mostofthefoundershavealreadyre-tired,buttheirtiestoTEAMGROUPremainstrong.They,therefore,havecontinuedtocontributebyof-feringadvicetothesecondbatchoftheGroup’sexecutiveswhoarenowrunningTEAMGROUPwiththesamecommitmentanddedication. During the past 35 years, TEAM GROUP has undergone several changes in line with changing circumstances and emerging opportunities.Inthebeginning,itranitsbusinessunderthenameofTEAMConsultingEngineeringandManagement,andhadjustahandfulofemployees.Overtime,thatsmallfirmhassignificantlyexpandedandfinallybecomeknownasTEAMGROUPwithnearly20firmsunderitsum-brellaandmorethan1,500people.Itsservicesarenowcomprehensiveandwell integrated.Today,TEAMGROUPprovidesservicestoboththegovern-mentandprivatesectors.Asitsservicescoverawiderangeoffields,itsbusinessexpansionhasspreadintomanyforeigncountriesespeciallythoseintheASEANregion. For2014,TEAM GROUP has set up TEAM Consulting International or TEAMi.ThisnewfirmisdirectlyhandlingTEAMGROUP’soverseasconsul-tancyservices.UnderTEAMiare:TEAMLaoinLaoPDR,TotalBusinessSolutioninMyanmar,andTEAM(Cambodia)inCambodia.TEAMiisgoingtosetupasubsidiaryinVietnambyearly2014too.Withbusi-nessexpansions intovariouscountries,TEAMGROUPhasseveralvacanciesinitsoverseas-basedfirms.It,therefore,iscallingonitsmemberstocon-siderthesenewareasasameansofprofessionalopportunities.Bytakingtheseposts,youngprofes-sionalswillbeabletoacquirenewexperiencesandprosper.Theywon’tneedtoqueueupforpromotionsbehindtheirseniors.Byworkingoverseas,theyenjoyafasterandmoreinterestinglychallengingcareer,advancementtrack,plusbetterpay.TEAMGROUPislookingforgoodandcapablepeopletodriveitsoverseasbusinesses,asitseekstoestablishitselfasaleadingplayerinASEAN.
2014 and Politically-Induced Crisis SeveralpeoplehaveexpressedconcernsaboutThailand’spoliticalcrisisanditsramifications.ThelatestcrisisstartedlastNovember,andnobodyyetknowshowthepoliticalsituationwillturnout.Sev-eralpeopleareworriedthatTEAMGROUP’sprojectswillbedelayedorevenscrappedasaresult.ButIdon’tsharetheirworry.TEAMGROUPhasbravedmanycrisesbefore.Iamconvincedthatthecurrentpoliticalpredicamentwillnotposeseriousproblems17TEAM GROUP Newsletter
Spiritual Leadership: Success Factor of the Nation
Recently, Iwas invitedbyGeneralBoonsangNiumpradit,Ph.D.—formerSupremeCommanderoftheRoyal ThaiArmy—to join theHumanCapacityBuildingFoundationonitscommittee.On21March2014,Iattendeditscommitteemeetingforthefirsttime. The Republic of Korea’sCanaan Global Leadership Centerwasmentioned in themeeting,and referred toasaSpiritual Leadership Institute.TheFoundationwishedtousetheCanaanCenter’scurriculumasamodelforThailand’ssimilartrainingcourses. Well-recognized both domestical ly andinternationally,duringitsfirst50yearstheCenterwasanadhocagriculturaltrainingcenter.Onlylaterdidittransformitsactivitiestoprovidespiritualleadershiptraining.MostKoreansknowaboutthisCenterandagreethatitcontributesalargeparttothenation’sprosperity.ManyofKorean’spublicfigureshavebeentrainedby thisCenter;be itpresidents, leadersofparliament, or public administrators. The privatesectoralsousestheCenter’sservices. Injustover50yearsofoperation,upto700,000peoplehavebeentrainedbytheCenter.TheCenter’ssuccessinbothqualityandquantityliesinitseasybuteffectivephilosophy—humanswereborntoworkhard,toserviceboththeintimatesandsociety,andto sacrifice. To achieve this, changes have tobemade both at individual and national levels. Thechangesmuststartfromoneself(ChangeMeFirst).Theymust bemade immediately (ChangeNow).One’shabitsshouldbechangedfirst(ChangeHere).Smallandeasythingsshouldbedonefirst(ChangeSmallThingsFirstandChangeEasyThingsFirst). Iwasamazedandimpressedwiththeirachievements. With the values of S-Service, Q-Quality, and T-Teamwork, TEAM GROUP has already achieved a certain level of success. However, I still wish to learn more from the Canaan Center and adopt the knowledge in our organization. Then we can disseminate it to others so that Thailand can one day be even more developed and prosperous.
