STRAWBERRY-SAN The berry girl amigurumi pattern
Being soft doesn’t mean that you’re squish-able.
Strawberry-san is the sweetest girl you’ll ever meet.
She’s all prim and proper and politeness to the brim.
But if you think that she’s someone you can easily push around, well, you thought wrong.
For even the sweetest strawberries have a surprise center.

Designing the face
Eyes & Brows
1. The closed eyelids are sewn on using black crochet thread and darning needle. On a spot to the left, make a loose horizontal stitch, about 3 sts long, on Round 14.
2. To give the eyelids a curvier look, you need to make sure the stitch is a little loose, and not pulled tight.
3. Using the same thread, make 3 spaced-out vertical stitches along the eyelid, for the eyelashes. It’s okay if you have to insert your needle in between the stitches. Repeat on the right side to make the eyelids and eyelashes.
4. For the eyebrows — make one diagonal backstitch (3 stitches long) from below Round 17 to 18 above each eye.
Lips
1. The lips are made following the same instructions as the eyelids. It should fall on Round 13, centered between the eyes. Make 2 small stitches in the center to secure the curve of the lips.
Eyeglasses
1. With purple yarn and your darning needle, sew on the eyeglasses using horizontal and vertical backstitches. You may use these pictures, to the left, as a guide.
2. The top of the glasses should be a stitch above the eyelids, and sewn on in a diagonal manner below Round 15 to below Round 14.
Assembly (in order)
1. Using white yarn and your darning needle, make random vertical backstitches (3 backstitches in each space) all around the strawberryto give it some “spots”.
2. Sew on facial features.
3. Sew on glasses.
4. Sew on cheeks.
5. Sew leaves onto the top of the strawberry. You may add additional stitches to ensure that the leaves doesn’t curl up too much.
6. Sew legs onto the bottom of the body, below Round 3.
