El Tejido Conectivo (tambin llamado Tejido Conjuntivo) es un tejido caracterizado por estar formados por
clulas, fibras y por presentar un abundante material intercelular. Al tratarse de un tejido que desempea
funciones mecnicas y representa el espacio intersticial (entre las clulas) del organismo, se halla
formando parte de la piel y las mucosas; sirve de vehculo a los vasos, nervios y conductos excretores,forma estructuras modeladas con funcin mecnica como tendones, etc.
Este tejido desempea funciones mecnicas, de transporte, de almacenamiento, cicatrizacin y reparacin
de los tejidos; desempea un papel muy importante en la defensa del organismo contra agentes nocivos
infecciosos o de otra naturaleza debido a que inhibe su pasaje. Tambin interviene en el sistemainmunitario facilitando la salida de linfocitos y anticuerpos circulantes.
