INTRODUCTION Erion is a majestic world comprised of five mighty nations. But in the times of old, once stood the mightiest kingdom of them all, the kingdom of Valentine. It is known that its king used a powerful artifact called the Cauldron to conquer all nearby kingdoms. The artifact brought glory to the mighty nation, but it also brought destruction as well. The kingdom of Valentine and its inhabitants have perished. In one, cold night… Now, the other nations waged a war into one another, trying to take the Cauldron for themselves. Now, heroes rise, driven by their own resolve and reason yet unbeknownst that their fates are intertwined…

AUTHOR’S NOTE
First things first; since the world is full of lame punks taking advantage of other people’s hard work, so please note that if you bought this guide from someone or from some website like E‐Bay then you have been ripped off. As much as I want to earn money from writing this, I prefer not to, just to have this guide to be accessed by all gamers around the world. This is distributed FREE thru the gamesites I voluntarily submit my faqs and to those who asked for my permission. Odin Sphere is one of my most anticipated games for the PS2 this year. I will be writing my 2nd PDF guide for a PS2 game (one is for Dawn of Mana, an IGN exclusive) now with better quality screenshots since I will using the Gamebridge instead of taking pics using an external camera. Any feedback from you guys is very much appreciated. If you have corrections or suggestions tell me so; remember that I am doing this for FREE and I am investing my time and effort to make this guide as helpful as possible. I will try to cover everything I can but I can’t guarantee you that this will be perfect. Spoilers are also ahead so read with care. I can’t assure you that I can answer all your questions, but in the best of my ability I will. Thank you for grabbing this faq and enjoy.

Odin Sphere is a 2d platformer with great graphics and unique gameplay and battle mechanics. This section of the guide will guide you through the basics and help you understand the unique aspects of the game. The game allows you to save anywhere; however, there is no LOAD option. This means that if your HP reaches zero, you will need to start the stage all over again‐ keeping experience, gold, and items you have acquired. This will not bring back the items you have already used. So, if you just don’t feel like doing the stage again but you keep on dying against a group of enemies or a boss/mini‐boss, then you need to restart the console and load your most recent save.
BASICS
Enemies can be unpredictable; hence, I would like you to save often, especially if you know that you are entering a mini‐boss or high difficulty (four‐five star) area. Navigation The map as shown above is divided into several areas. Each area is considered ‘round’ so while you are running, you will just notice that eventually you will reach your starting position. This simplicity saves time in too much navigating but doesn’t take out the fun either. Ranking, Grading Items shown in the areas when viewing the map are the prizes for completing the areas. When you are completing areas, you are graded on how fast you defeat all the enemies, how much damage you have take and how much carry over points left (from the previous grading). Getting a total of 1000+ gives you an S, which is the best rank. This will allow you to receive more rewards other than the prize for the area. Getting a D however, will just net you the prize and another random item.
Phozons These are materialized energy produced after a creature stops living. They appear as pink wisps in the air and are vital to grow magical seeds and give you energy to perform magical attacks. Absorbing them enables characters to fill up their Psypher Gauge, at the same time, earn Experience as you absorb them. Also, from time to time, a Butterfly will appear on the battlefield. It is considered rare since it releases a good amount of phozons. You can only absorb it though.
Phozons are also used to grow seeds. Growing seeds are the cheapest way of producing recovery fruits. Each fruit has a required number of phozons to absorb in order to grow. Higher grade seeds require more phozons, naturally.
Psypher Skills Psypher skills are learned when your Psypher level increases. This is done by absorbing phozons and filling up your Psypher gauge. Psypher skills for each character are technically the same but
TIP: The Rosemile plant requires no phozon to grow. It will grow by itself and best of all, release phozons. You can use this to grow other seeds without killing any enemies and you want to stock up before a fight.
they do learn it on different levels and from different orders. Some skills are unique only to certain characters. These skills are considered as your special attacks. Cyclone: Summons a tornado that hits all enemies in front of you. Useful in taking out groups of aggressors in a straight line. Can damage you if you jump into its path as well. Phozon Release: Releases 6 Phozons into the air. Great for growing seeds while not fighting. Uses up a full Psypher bar. Excess released phozons can be absorbed again for experience. Invisible: Shifts your body into an immaterial form, which renders you invulnerable. However your attacks won’t harm enemies but you can still use your Psypher skills. Phozon Burst: A powerful burst that hits all enemies in a small area around you. High Damage and may stun. Psypher Heal: Restores HP until it is full or until you move. Overload: Increases attack power temporarily. Piercing Shot: A powerful blast that pierces through multiple enemies. (Mercedes only) Shadow Ally: Creates a shadow/double of self that mimics attacks in battle. (Gwendolyn only) Food and Recovery items Aside from recovering HP, food and recovery items is your primary source of experience as well. Some foods have low HP recovery but have high experience and vice versa. Some plants are even odder since they grow into animals which in turn you can attack to turn them into edible meat. You can grow food by planting seeds and let them absorb all surrounding phozons. Each seed has their required number of phozons to grow. Higher level seeds must be planted in a LV3‐5 area. This will ensure you that you a good supply of phozons to grow the plant. Also, later in the game you will be able to collect Recipes and enter the Pooka Village’s Café and Restaurant. Aside from the normal ingredients, there are certain coins needed to pay for the food. Note
that unlike ordinary nuts and fruits, foods served in the Restaurant and Café net the most experience and also add value to your max HP. Bring in new recipes. Make sure you check out the ingredients you have so that you won’t waste your time visiting the village. For basic ingredients, there is a Pooka vendor outside the Restaurant as well. Controls You will be in active battle constantly. The controls may be a bit different to each character. These are the basic controls. Attack – Press Square button. Press up to four times consecutively to perform a combo Guard – Hold Square button Movement – D‐PAD or Left analog stick Psypher Skills – Press Triangle Button Jump – press X button Double Jump – Press X button twice Air Attack/ Combo – Jump then press the attack button once or consecutively Open Item Ring – Press O button Absorb Phozons in the area – Press R1 View Bags’ contents – Press R2 button View Character Status Screen – Press L2 button Open Map – Press L1 Open Game Menu – Press Start button Cancel – Press Triangle Another thing you should note is the POW gauge. Every swing takes a portion of the POW gauge. Letting it drain to zero will make your character dizzy and open for attacks. To avoid this, perform a few combos, then move away from the enemies to ‘rest’ and refill your POW gauge. Items and Alchemy You won’t survive any adventure without collecting and the help of items. Sometimes, it is cheaper to just create your own items than to buy ready product. You can only have one accessory equipped at any given time. To create new items, you should have the appropriate Mix. Like recipes, these are item drops or prizes in different areas you explore. The main ingredient is called the Material. Also, there are plants called Mandragoras that ‘squeak’ when you step on them. All of them are vital ingredients in any alchemy mixes.
TIP: Don’t just go in and swing your weapon at the enemies. Mind your distance. When facing a group of enemies, don’t rush in since they can easily chew your HP away, especially for those high damaging enemies. Fighting haphazardly will just bring you trouble.
It is simple, really. Just select the material and scroll to the appropriate ingredient. By default, a material’s number starts with zero (0). This indicates the number of phozons it will release after mixing. For number zero, there will be two phozons that will be released. Materials can also be combined. Their numbers will be multiplied. (Example: Material 4 + Material 5 = Material 20) If the result exceeds 99, then the total is divided instead. (Example: Material 75 + Material 3 = Material 25) Note that some potions can be derived only when combining a certain material number. ‐ End of the basics section. Ready? Let’s hop to the main walkthrough ‐
The main game is comprised of several interconnecting, individual stories. They are represented by Books which our little girl, Alicia will read. More books will be selectable once you finish a character’s story. For the first book, Valkyrie, we will join Gwendolyn in a quest for honor, pride and love.
Gwendolyn – Valkyrie
"The soul shines proudly after falling in battle; the birds have a belief: This is the only method of earning an immortal soul"
For the first part of the game, just familiarize yourself with the controls and follow the tutorials. You will also have a taste of your first battles here. Just practice with your attack timings. Chests that are dropped by enemies or rewarded to you require a few good hits to open. Note that the chests disappear a few moments of leaving them unopened or untouched. Exit the area and you will find yourself inside the Castle. You can talk to everybody here to learn more about what is happening. There is also a merchant just before the exit of the castle. You don’t really need to purchase anything, but you can take a peek at his goods if you want.
WALKTHROUGH
In the world map, you only have one destination for the meantime. Select Raging Battlegrounds.
Chapter 1 – Raging Battlegrounds (Valkyrie) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Mulberry Seed 5G Hot Cross Bun 5G Power Stone 15G Luck Stone 15G Spirit Stone 15G

This stage is fairly easy. Try to get accustomed with the battle system and other stuff. At this point of the game, Mulberries give a good amount of EXP so try to increase your Psypher and HP levels.
The game will inform you to use Napalms against Unicorn Knights. However, I still think that Toxins are still the best against these hard armored targets. They are tough to take down themselves. Just don’t try to attack him head on. They hit hard and you may need to watch your HP to avoid getting killed accidentally. Try to glide away when he charges. Using As always, c lear the other areas first before heading to the boss of this area. Also, make sure you have a good amount of recovery items ready.
BOSS: Raging Dragon, BELIAL Belial has a series of attacks. His normal attack includes a powerful ram attack that can knock you down and also a more dangerous ‘gobble’ attack that can deal tremendous damage. It will also call forth some debris, which you can attack and make hit Belial. He summons a sandstorm, which carries the debris, dealing damage as it hits. Try to air glide while he is
summoning the sandstorm. Better yet, try going to his back and attack him from behind. Try not to stay close to him for a long time. You may never know when you’ll end up getting swallowed. In case you get dizzy, immediately move your analog button. This will decrease the stun time recovery. To be safe as well, you can equip the Ancient Crystal you have gained a while ago. After the battle, you will back in the castle. You can talk to everyone and check out some new inventories in the shop as well. Once done, you can now save and head to the next destination. The Detox Charm will save you a lot of troubles in the next stage. It may be expensive and depending on how well you have performed in the last chapter, you can either afford this accessory or not. Either way, you will need some Antidote for the next stage. If you want, you can buy one here in this shop since you will be able to create your own antidotes in the next chapter as well.
Chapter 2 – The Deep Forests of Elrit (Valkyrie)

This stage will introduce you to one of the many negative statuses in the game. When you are inflicted with poison, you need to treat it immediately. You can wait it out but it takes quite a while before it completely wears off. And that could spell trouble if you are in the middle of a fight. Having a Detox Charm or some Antidotes will help you out here a lot. Don’t waste money buying Antidotes. You will just need to make them.

At the start of the stage, you will receive a tutorial about alchemy. You can check out the basics above to review if you want. You just need to follow the instructions and you’re all set. You will learn about Mandragoras as well The Manticores have some damaging attacks that can inflict poison. To be safe, try to attack it from the air. Using Napalm and Cyclone wields the best results. In some stages, there will be bees. Destroy the hives since they’ll just keep on coming. The goblins are fast and annoying. Most of the time, a successful hit from them can poison you. Try growing as many fruits as you can as well.
After clearing all the other areas, you can now head to the boss. To be safe, just stock on healing items as always. Save, then enter the battle against this chapter’s boss.
BOSS: Velvet, the forest witch Velvet has some tricks on her sleeve that you should be cautious about. Fortunately, her HP is not that high which means you can end this battle quickly, so long as you can deal damage to her more than what she can deal to you. Most of her attacks can be avoided. Just get rid of the frogs that will appear from time to time since they can deal unnecessary damage and inflict poison as well. The best time to attack Velvet is when she is on top of the tree branch. Do a couple of combos then glide away from her. Also, you can perform a combo by attacking her behind but be careful since she can counter it with her own devastating combo.
TIP: Antidote =Material 0 + Onionne ‐ or ‐
Material 6 + Cubsbane
After the battle, you should see a scene. So ‘tis another family secret, eh?
After the scene, you will be back inside the Demon Lord’s Castle. You may want to check the merchant’s new items. I suggest getting a bag if you still haven’t. You will need the additional space later on. The next stage is a freezing one so I suggest getting at least one Warmer. Exit the area and select your next destination in the world map. You can also revisit Elrit if you want some extra EXP, items and gold.
Chapter 3 – Winterhorn Ridge (Valkyrie)
When you enter an area and you see that your life is being drained slowly, immediately use a Warmer to avoid further damage. A new kind of Mandragora, the Turny is here as well. This is one raw ingredient in making some Warmers.
The Berserkers are dangerous sub‐bosses. They can chip large chunks of HP on their normal attacks. Don’t hesitate to use healing items whenever needed. One good way of defeating them is by using Toxins and Cyclone. Try also not to attack them by normal combos. You can use air attacks to avoid most of its attacks. Ice elementals here can FREEZE you. You will be unable to move, attack or defend which makes you open to enemy attacks. The only immediate solution against this status effect is by quickly ‘shaking’ your left analog stick. Note that those large Yetis recover health by burrowing in the snow and their breath can freeze you as well. They are dangerous in groups so avoid rushing in and just keep your distance as you fight. As usual, check out what you can get in the shops you are visiting. If you can, get another large bag if it’s available. More storage means more items. When ready, save and make your way to the boss area.

TIP: Got scraps? Bones, grape stems or napple cores can be used to increase the levels of your materials. Instead of throwing them out, combine them with materials instead; this will allow you to create high leveled materials.
BOSS: General Brigan Brigan is slow but hits hard. Again, one of the most effective ways of attacking him with minimal risk is by down thrusting. Some Valkyries and Ice Elementals will appear from time to time to help him as well. Be careful also since Brigan has one powerful grab attack. He will grab Gwendolyn and pour heavy ale on her. (see image below) Though it doesn’t seem that he is forcing her to drink all those ale, expect your character’s HP to drain steadily and you will be dizzy afterwards.
Brigan has some openings whenever he performs some of his attacks. Example, when he is breathing fire, you can attack him from behind, and even score a full combo. Just avoid facing him head on. Just attack him for the first part of the battle. You won’t do that much damage but you will be able to destroy the four shields in his body. After those are taken care of, you can now deal greater damage. Save your Phozon Burst as a finishing blow, just to be safe.
After the scenes, you will be punished. Well, not really that much but Gwendolyn will just be staying in the Castle Terrace. You can still talk to the NPCs here to get a feel more with the story. The pooka in the far right is a merchant. Check you his inventory. Again, the Bag is probably the best thing you can get right now. If you still have a lot of space, you can just save your gold and wait for the Large Bag. Remember that you can only have a maximum of 6 bags. Now exit and choose your next destination in the world map.
Chapter 4 – Nebulapolis (Valkyrie) You will immediately start in a Sub‐boss area. Just use the same tactics you have used before to defeat the berserkers here. Be careful of those little dwarves and their bombs. They can cause burning while dealing high damage upon explosion. The ordinary axe‐wielding warriors are dangerous in groups and they don’t stagger easily – which means they can attack you while you are attacking them. Magic works best against them. Their weakness is their slowness. Once they start their attack combos, you can fly behind them and attack them. Valkyries will be here as well. They are not that hard just deliver a few solid blows and they’ll be done for. Shop # 1 Shop # 2

If you can, try to get the large bag. It has the most capacity that will save you a lot of trouble when storing much needed recovery items.
BOSS: Demon Lord Odin This boss could be the most challenging you’ll have to face yet. His Balor must be avoided at all costs. It can definitely kill you in one hit. You way want to immediately fly away or past him while he is charging for the Balor. His attacks are really damaging so stay on your toes and as much as possible, try not to attack him head on. Using air combos and air rushes are pretty effective. If you have painkillers, don’t hesitate to use it at the start of the battle. This will at least lessen the damage you’ll get. Use healing items as often as needed. Phozon Bursts will be helpful here but you can make the most out of Cyclone as well. Just remember that there are delays in between Odin’s attacks. If you are cautious, you can evade most of his attacks. Equipping a Cythera Bangle will further increase your offensive capacity.
Back in the Castle Terrace, the Pooka merchant should have new items for sale. Check it out. The portal also behind him transports you to the Pooka Village where you can visit the Restaurant and Café. There, you can eat the food indicated in the recipes you have acquired, so long as you have the proper ingredients and the right coin to pay for it.
Food served at the Café and Restaurant has high experience and permanent HP bonuses. More sophisticated dishes require more ingredients but pack more experience. If you have a lot of ingredients in stock and some coins as well, then expect to gain more than a couple of levels when visiting the village. There is also a merchant just outside the restaurant that sells some basic ingredients. When ready, leave the village, then the terrace. Select your next destination.
Chapter 5 – Volkenon Lava Pit (Valkyrie) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Opposite to the Winterhorn Ridge, areas here can drain your HP due to extreme heat. You will need to create some Coolers here. 2‐3 bottles will suffice. Just create/buy more if you need it.
Sub‐bosses here are Vulcans. They are not that dangerous but their attacks can cause burning. To quickly remove that status ailment, quickly move or glide away. You will also get some good recipes here so navigate all the areas. Fire Elementals will be abundant in this stage as well. Try to avoid or destroy them or you’ll be on fire quite often.

BOSS: LEVanTHAN
Overall, this boss is probably the easiest. His attacks are not powerful, except that fire blast shown in the image to the right, which can kill you in one hit. This baby dragon’s attacks can be avoided and during most of his attacks, he will be open for attacks. Although this boss has considerably high defense, you won’t notice it if you keep on damaging him. The most effective way to get through this battle quicker is to immediately get behind it while he is preparing for an attack. Equipping a Mars Bangle will let you deal heavier damage but it is only optional. This boss will occasionally ram you but it has low damage so don’t worry about it.
This little guy can be staggered by powerful blows so you can score some more free hits in case that happens. After a few scenes, you will be back in the Castle Terrace. You can sell some excess baggage (Any excess coolers you may have will be useless from here on) and get some new stuff. If you are planning to get a new bag, remember that you can only keep SIX bags. So, try getting the large bags since you can’t exchange the smaller ones you have acquired earlier.
When ready, exit to the world map and select your next destination. You may revisit the other stages you have cleared if you want some extra gold, experience and items.
Chapter 6 – Ringford Forest (Valkyrie)

Enemies here are the same in the Raging Battlefields but stronger. Sub‐bosses include Unicorn Knights. They are as threatening as ever, so make use some Toxins and Napalms if you have them. The boss is not that hard so you won’t need to use them. Also, the shop in the lower area has a transporter to the Pooka Village. I suggest collecting some Mandragoras since they are the prime ingredients in most dishes in the Restaurant and Café.

BOSS: Fairy Queen Mercedes Like the boss from the last stage, this battle is not that hard. Her only attacks will be projectiles, though many, most of them deals not that much damage. Look out for the enemy reinforcements that will arrive. You can always attack her from behind or just simply use air rush attacks. Using Painkillers will further decrease the damage you will receive from her attacks. She is not that tough. Her defense is low and her life is low as well. This battle will not take long. Just keep attacking. After some scenes, you will find yourself in the terrace again. Pack up, sell some extra baggage. I suggest getting the Jupiter Bangle or Vampiric Ring. Exit and head to the last stage on this story.
Chapter 7 – Endelphia, The Netherworld (Valkyrie)
Shop # 1 Shop # 2
In this stage, you may experience some lag. This comes even worse in areas with lots of ghastly enemies. Plan your attacks carefully since you will need to adjust with the slow speed on the entire gameplay in this stage. Some areas here are pitch black. You need to use Shine since some enemies can only be seen or attacked after using it. Or simply, you can just stay with those candle carriers. They can provide some limited light. The sub‐bosses can be stubborn. Try using air
rushes against them. Not to mention those floating ghosts can be troublesome too. Using phozon burst can help you around in these situations.
BOSS: Odette, Queen of the Netherworld This battle is horrible. Not with the boss’ difficulty but with the slowdown. Fighting with Odette only is no problem. The lag starts when she summons more minions. Though they can be annoying and can be dispatched with one hit, with their numbers, they can be dangerous. Instead of using Phozon Burst, you may want to use Cyclone to get rid of them if they start to gather in numbers. Well, not bad for the last battle. Odette’s attacks are quite damaging if you don’t avoid them. One of the most lethal is when she summons an orb (shown in the 2nd image) and several limbs will pin you. She also summons a rolling blade. Get out of its way and glide to the other side. Odette can also heal herself. When she releases her spider‐like limbs, you need to rush her and attack to cancel the healing process. She heals with quite an amount so expect this battle to last longer if you don’t cancel that.

The secret for defeating her is to be aggressive. Casting Overload then staying close to her while performing combos will surely drain her HP considerably. Just watch out from her lethal attacks. It may take several tries (save in the middle of the battle so that you can load and start with this battle immediately. Her life will become full however) but eventually, once you learn her attack patterns then it will be easier to predict what she will be doing next.
After defeating Odette, watch the following scenes. Congratulations! You just finished Gwendolyn’s storyline. You can still use her but the story will start again from the beginning but all your items, skills and experience will be carried over. You can also now select a new book and a new storyline; The Pooka Prince.
Cornelius – The Pooka Prince
"Destiny can appear like a pitfall beneath one's feet; who can say that tomorrow will be just like today? Souls have been known to vanish as easily as a lost coin"
The story will start with some scenes. After a while, you will find yourself in the same stage where you last left off. Netherworld Endelphia. When you start off, you can talk to everybody here then check out the shop. The Spirit Stone is a good item. With this, you can increase your Psypher levels quickly. Exit to the world map and select your destination. Though generally, the controls are the same, Cornelius can’t glide like Gwendolyn. You can use a Spin Attack, which lets you hit enemies continuously without consuming too much POW. Try to familiarize yourself with Cornelius’ attacks then head to the next area. The enemies are basically the same and the sub‐bosses too. They will be a lot weaker since this is an early stage. Make your way to the boss area. As usual, use Shine here as needed.

BOSS: Odette, Queen of the Netherworld Her attack patterns are still the same. She will be a lot weaker now but her attacks can be fatal if not careful. The lagdown issues are still here. Just keep on attacking her aggressively. Her minions won’t deal that much damage so just ignore them and concentrate on taking down Odette. Cyclone works well against her as well.

Also, try to make as much Healing Tonics as possible. This stage is full of Caroteers and it will just require one caroteer and a Material to create a Healing Tonic. This will be very helpful in the later stages where you need quick healing. For now, berries and nuts will be enough. Fight your way to the last area. You won’t be facing the Demon Lord Odin but you will face Brigan instead.
BOSS: General Brigan His attack patterns are still the same. You still need to remove all the four shields protecting him or your attacks won’t do much damage. This can be done by performing successful combos. It will be effective to spin attack him then perform an Air combo. This will lower the risk of getting hit by his melee attacks. If he starts hopping around like a crazed rabbit that just got a vasectomy, quickly get out of the way. This can cause considerable damage and can daze your character as well. He is also open when breathing fire. After some scenes, you will find yourself back at home, in Titania. Walk along the alley. You will also find two shops here. Exit the area for more scenes.
Chapter 3 – Elrit Forest (Pooka) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Elrit Forest is still the same as before. Try to stock up at least two bottles of Antidote in this stage. All enemies here are dangerous since they can inflict poison with their attacks. Use Cyclone when groups of enemies are rushing towards you.
The Bee Hives are still here so use Cornelius’ air combo to destroy them. Manticores can be easily defeated by using Napalm and Spin Attacks against them. Compared to Gwendolyn, Cornelius is a bit tougher so you can endure more damage before even needing to heal. Make your way to the stage’s boss.

BOSS: Velvet’s Impostor Her attack patterns are still the same. All her attacks can be avoided. She doesn’t have that much life or defense so you can pummel her with your combos. Be careful not to get caught in her counterattack. She can perform a combo also. The best time to attack her is when she is on top of the tree branch. Just use air combos or spin attacks.
After the battle, watch a few more scenes. Get rid of any excess items you may not need anymore and check out the merchants’ inventories. Exit and head to your next destination.
Chapter 4 – Winterhorn Ridge (Pooka) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
As usual, you need to use warmer in the areas here or you’ll fin your HP slowly decreasing. Be careful of those Yetis and Ice Elementals that has some attacks that can turn you to ice. To recover from frozen status, you just need to ‘shake’ your character. The Berserker sub‐boss is still as dangerous as ever, yet the Revenant will be as annoying as well. Just use spin attacks and air combos to get rid of them. If you have spare space, try to stock up some Mandragoras and some Napples.

BOSS: wagner, raging dragon Wagner has some damaging attacks. Not to mention that he also summons elementals. One of his most basic attacks includes a dive sweep that can knock you down and cause dizziness. He also sprays fire which can cause burning. Quickly move around to avoid recover from it quickly. If you have Painkillers, use it as well. Remember that Wagner has a blind spot. That is over his head. You can jump over his head and attack him from there. From time to time, he will summon tornadoes. Just avoid getting caught near the vortices. If you have some Healing Tonics, this is one of the battles where you should use them. Fruits don’t recover that much so use meats instead if you have them.
After the battle and some scenes, you will now be in the Pooka Village. You can now visit the Café and the Restaurant. With the proper ingredients and coins, you can buy some dishes here to boost your HP a few levels. You can also check the shop here for some items. If you have spare money for the large bag, grab it. Remember that you can only have a maximum of 6 bags. When ready, exit the area and head to the next area.

The sub‐boss before the boss is a Unicorn Knight, so try using a Toxin or Napalm if you have any. As always, stock up with healing items. Well, generally, the next boss is just easy.

BOSS: Mercedes, the Fairy Princess Mercedes is just as easy when you faced her with Gwendolyn. Her attack patterns are just the same and not that damaging – though you may want to avoid getting hit by her Piercing Shot. Well, she is mostly airborne, so you need to use your air combos and spin attacks so reach her. She is open whenever she is attacking, so you can use that time to land some successful hits on her. Mercedes doesn’t have that much HP and defense so expect to end this battle quickly. Watch out for her reinforcements since they deal more damage than Mercedes herself. You can use Phozon Burst to deal damage to Mercedes and to the soldiers if they get close together.
Watch the scenes and you will be back in the Pooka Village again. Visit the café and restaurants and try your new recipes. Check out the shop as well. When ready, exit and head to your next destination.

Be careful of the enemies here. The goblins can still inflict poison. The fire elementals here can cause burning. The most dangerous of all the common enemies would be those fire stones. After their HP depletes to 0, stay away from them. Their explosion damage can always kill you unless you are in full health.

Vulcans are not that hard. Just use Spin Attacks and air combos often since she mostly stays airborne. When inflicted with burning, quickly move to recover from it. Unfortunately, the map is available in the last area before the boss. During this stage, I suggest stocking up some Napples, a Withered Napple and Rueworts. You will need them to cook the Strudel
BOSS: Levanthan Like the last time, generally, this boss is not that hard. His normal attacks doesn’t deal that much damage, though you need to look out for his devastating fire blast, as shown in the second image above. Most of his attacks does leave him open, not to mention that he staggers often too. Just use your special attacks to end this battle quicker. After the battle, you will be back in Titania. There will be two shops there and a portal leading to the Pooka Village. I suggest visiting the Café and Restaurant and try to earn some levels. The Strudel is the best dish you can get at this point. You may also want to revisit other stages to earn additional exp, items and gold. Remember that the items available in those stages can be acquired again, not to mention the extra stuff you’ll get from enemy drops. Check out the shops and exit to the far right to enter the last stage. If you are on the offensive, I suggest equipping a Jupiter Bangle or an Adversity Ring. You may also want to stock up some Toxins and Napalms.

Welcome to the last stage. This stage has lots of annoying enemies that will really test your patience. The Goblins can still inflict poison to you so it will be handy to have an Antidote or two. Just use Cyclone once you see a swarm of them coming towards you via radar. The sorcerers are nevertheless annoying as well. They will teleport once you get near them or after landing one hit. The best way to get rid of them is
to kill them the first time they appear on the battlefield. Or better yet, attack the floating swords they summon to deflect it back to them. The Ooze is a threat to Cornelius since his attacks and Psypher skills doesn’t work against this moving green glob of dirty jelly. The only way you can kill them is by using Toxins or Napalms. Frog tongue attacks also works well against them (by using Metamorphosis) but that will be a bit

risky. There are no major items to look out for in this stage. There are just gold coins. Stock up with healing items, preferably Healing Tonics and Praline Chocolates/ Ginger Breads. (Acquired by taking out from the Cafe) BOSS: Raging Dragon, Belial Like before, his attack patterns are still the same, only more powerful. Not to mention that he has Sorcerers as reinforcements. Use Spin Attacks and Air Combos to lower the risk of getting hit. From time to time, he will also produce debris, which can damage you when they hit. Deflect them by attacking them with your sword. Once gathering a good number of debris, he will start sucking the air around you. Try to avoid getting gobbled as much as possible since it does high damage and can daze you as well. Ignore the magicians as long as they don’t bother you that much. Using Painkillers will reduce the damage taken. You can also use Regeneration if you want some backup healing. He will be vulnerable from behind while he is absorbing the wind but it will be risky to get there unless you timed it right. Just give it all what you have here; after all, this is your final battle. After defeating Belial, watch the remaining scenes. Well, the ending may not be that satisfying since Cornelius will still live as a Pooka but hey, Velvet still ought to be with him. Congratulations for completing the second book. Save your game and take a rest. Or just pickup the next book, Fairy Land.
Mercedes – Fairy Land "Once upon a time, in a starlit forest far, far, away; fairies lived under the protection of a
queen resembling flowers like a fleeting fantasy" Watch the scenes and get used of Mercedes’ tutorial. Her attacks are a bit different than the last two characters you have used. Here are some changes and new features:
• Mercedes can fly and land at will. • POW is replaced with AMMO. Shooting arcane bolts from her bow consumes ammo.
She needs to land to reload. • Piercing Shot is the unique Psypher Skill available only for Mercedes • She can charge her shots and release multiple homing projectiles to hit enemies. • She can’t use items, skills or reload while flying • Absorbing Phozons restore some ammo
In addition, Mercedes has low HP and defense compared to the other characters so you may want to avoid getting damaged as much as possible. Since she can attack while flying, you can quickly escape from ground forces and heal at a distance. As usual, familiarize yourself with her controls and continue along the story. Talk to everyone in the Ringford Palace; check out the shop (get the Spirit Stone to speed up leveling up you Psypher). Exit when ready.
Chapter 1 – Elrit Forest (Fairy) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
With Mercedes, the Manticores here are easy pickings. Three charge shots are enough to bring them down. Just be careful with their poison attacks. Try to stock up with some antidotes as well. If you see a swarm of enemies coming towards you, eliminate them by using Piercing Shot.

Once you reach the boss area, you will encounter a short scene with a talking frog (the very creatures Mercedes loves to hunt) Though it may look like an eerie ‘Frog Prince’ cross over, this is actually a prelude to the boss fight.
BOSS: Raging Dragon, BELIAL Belial’s attack patterns are still the same. However, Mercedes will have a little advantage here since she can stay afloat while attacking. Charge attacks works well against Belial; using Piercing Shot is not bad either. As described in the previous strategies against this boss, avoid getting gobbled up when he starts sucking wind. He will call forth metallic debris that can damage/ stun you. Remember that Mercedes is not as tough as she looks since she has slightly lower defense compared to the two warriors you have used before hand. But with proper control, she has the highest damage potential. Remember to stay away if you need to heal and reload. Take advantage of the easy level up during lower levels. Mulberries can increase your level and recover ‘much’ HP at this point.
After the battle, watch the scenes. As usual, check out the inventory in the shop. If you want more storage, try to save your gold until you can buy the Large Bag. It may take a while but it is worth it. Prep, once ready, exit the area and select the next stage.
Chapter 2 – Ringford Forest (Fairy) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
As before, Unicorn Knights can be a pain in the a**. Yet their attacks can be easily avoided by simply flying and using Charge shots. If you want to make it more painful, use Napalms or Toxins. Remember to stay away when reloading. Make your way to the boss area. Make sure you have a lot of recovery items as well.

BOSS: Oswald, The Shadow Knight As you can see in the second image above, Oswald does transform into his Shadow Knight form. While in this form, his attack and defense ratings are raised, not to mention his speed as well. His reinforcements inc lude some fairies as well. In his human form, Oswald uses recovery items to heal himself. The best way to attack him is by using Charge shots in his human form. You can just fly and avoid his melee attacks but beware while he is on Shadow knight form, he can use jump attacks. Save your Piercing Shots as your finishing blows, preferably in his normal form to deal more damage. If you have equipped a Saturn Bangle then you can deal more damage than anticipated. After the battle, watch the scenes, do some shopping and exit to the next stage. Note that you can now visit the Pooka Village. Make sure to gain some levels. If you are short on ingredients, just grab the basic dishes in the Café and the Restaurant.
TIP: Have a couple of bottles of Painkillers. Use Painkillers during boss battles to reduce the damage dealt to Mercedes. Since she has low defense, you will find yourself healing too often, which can cause you trouble if run out of recovery items.
Chapter 3 – Winterhorn Ridge (Fairy) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Obviously, you should know that you will need Warmers in this area to avoid losing too much HP. The sub bosses can be easily attacked by flying and attacking at a short distance. Furthermore, you still need to watch out for elementals and yetis. You may use Piercing Shot to eliminate them all in a straight line.

BOSS: Raging Dragon, wagner You should know Wagner’s attack patterns already. Again, you can fly to avoid his rush attacks and step on his head and attack him from there. He will summon ice and fire spirits, which you can avoid or destroy immediately. You can use Painkillers here so minimize the sustained damage to your character. Although tough as it may look, Mercedes’ bow packs enough punch to deal considerable damage to Wagner on every hit. Also, use Piercing Shot instead of Phozon Burst. PS deals a lot more damage compared to PB. When reloading, as always, you should keep distance and attack again. Charge shots deal great damage here as well but you can only fire 3 charge shots before reloading again.
After the battle, watch the scenes and continue along with the story. I suggest visiting the Pooka Village and gain a few more levels to your advantage. Check out the shops. If you have money, now is the best time to buy Large Bags. Just avoid spending your Ariel coins, Valentinian Gold and Commemorative coins. They are used to pay for the dishes at the Pooka Café and Restaurant.
When ready, head to the next stage.
Chapter 4 – Titania Capital (Fairy) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
You have conquered this stage already while playing as Cornelius so you should have the idea on how things work. Like before, your normal enemies here are the same. You don’t have to worry about those bothersome oozes since Mercedes’ attack inflicts great damage against them. For the Sorcerers, same tactics apply; you may wait for them to summon those floating swords or just simply use Piercing shot in the very first time they appear.
Stock up with a lot of healing items (Healing Tonics, Praline Chocolates and Ginger Breads recommended). It will be very helpful to have a good number of Napalms and/or Toxins.

BOSS: Beldor, the Sorcerer
This could be a difficult battle with those two Axe Knights as his reinforcements. The best way to damage Beldor is to eliminate those Axe Knights. You need to be extra careful when dealing with them; their jump attacks can hit you even if you are airborne. If possible, try to get them all in a straight line and use Piercing Shot. Avoid using Phozon Burst here since it deals lesser damage vs PS and consumes two Psypher bars. Use Painkillers here as much as you can; you will need them. You may also use Napalms and Toxins to your advantage. Once you get those two Axe knights down, you may now concentrate with Beldor. His attacks are the same as the standard sorcerers you have encountered on your way but he has the ability to turn you into a frog. In this form, you can still use the tongue attack but it is not recommended since the risk of getting killed is pretty high.
You can cancel his magic by attacking him. It may take a while if you do this since he keeps on teleporting after getting hit once. You can also wait for him to summon floating swords in front of him, attack the swords (using PS is better) to deflect them back to him, causing greater damage.
After the battle, continue with the scenes as usual. Shop, prepare and exit to the world map. Select your next stage.
Chapter 5 – Netherworld Endelphia (Fairy) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
The basics apply here; you need to keep at least 1‐2 bottles of Shine to complete this map. Having a bottle of Antidote won’t be bad either. The enemies are the same and the lag down problem is still annoying as ever. The sub‐bosses in this stage are easy pickings with 2‐3 PS’s and some charge shots. As you head to the last boss, the battle will be easy if your Psypher level is at least LV5‐6 before facing Odette.

TIP: Have a lot of spare seeds but you don’t want to throw them away? Use a Quickgrow (Material 6 + Troll Molar) to make them grow without Phozons. Plant all your seeds in one tight area and throw the Quickgrow there. Watch your garden bloom in a few seconds; you can now start eating them like crazy! Drinking Yogurt before eating can increase the experience you’ll get from them.
BOSS: Odette, Queen of the Dead
Still your main annoyance here is the extreme lagging, especially when she starts summoning her minions. If you want to make this battle easier, as I mentioned, having 5‐6 Psypher bars is enough to defeat this boss. Equip a Mars Bangle will deal more damage. If you don’t have that much Psyphers, then save what you have and attack normally. If she starts to heal herself (by releasing some spider‐like appendages) use your PS (Piercing Shot) to cancel it.
The key to defeat her easily is to remain aggressive throughout the battle. Just ignore those minions of hers since they will just take your attention and may give Odette a chance to either heal or release a devastating attack.
After the battle, read through the scenes to learn more about the story progress. You may want to visit the Pooka Village and try to gain a few levels; if you are short on Ariel Coins and other items, the best place to revisit would be Titania Capital. The enemies there drop coins often, as long as you kill them quickly. Not to mention that the Sorcerers here drop a lot of Materials. Since the enemies here are easy at your level, you can easily earn an S rank to obtain more items.

BOSS: Levanthan, the Last Dragon
Like before, this battle is a giveaway. Since Mercedes can fly, you can stay airborne while attacking, landing only to reload and use PS. Watch out for Levanthan’s fire blast. If you find yourself in the path of the blast, just stay/kneel down. Avoid its diving ram attack by jumping over him, then attack from behind. Like before, it is open after every attack, so use that opportunity to attack him.
Though it may be cute and harmless, it is still a boss you need to defeat. After some scenes, including receiving the newly‐forged Riblam and rallying of forces, you will now be ready to enter the last stage, Raging Battlegrounds. If you feel that you need some more time leveling up and storing some items, you may revisit the other dungeons and the Pooka Village. When ready, pack up and enter Raging Battlegrounds.

BOSS: demon lord odin The patterns are still the same when you first faced him with Gwendolyn. He can dash, smash and fire multiple projectiles. The most dangerous attack is when he charges his Balor. Stay away from him when you see him doing this. With Mercedes, you can just fly, use Charge shots and of course PS’s. When you see him firing his projectiles, you can quickly get behind him and score some free shots. Try not to let your
guard down since even if you are at high level, Mercedes still has low defense. Attacks from normal enemies can deal considerable damage. Use support potions here like Painkillers (definitely) and Regeneration. For better results, use Unlimited Power as well. This will give Mercedes infinite ammo – which can be fatal to the enemy if you have the Jupiter Bangle equipped as well.
After the battle, watch the ending. Congratulations for finishing another book! Save your game, and you may now play the next book, The Black Sword.
Oswald – The Black Sword "Raise that sword and the shadows draw closer spreading the stench of death; But tenderness may exist in those inhabiting in darkness while distress envelops those who would oppose it" Watch the scenes and follow Oswald’s tutorial. There are some minor changes in the controls since you will be using a melee character again. Here are some changes you may want to take note.
• Oswald has high physical defense and attack rating but has low defense against elemental damage and status effects
• Holding the Square button transforms him into the fearsome Shadow Knight. In this form, his attack and speed will increase dramatically. Hold the Square button again to change back into human form.
• While in Shadow Knight form, POW will decrease drastically. Recommended after using Unlimited Power
• Oswald can only double jump • Shadow Knight form will be cancelled if Oswald is hit. • Doesn’t stagger easily even after getting hit several times
After the basic tutorial, you will need to battle the Revenant. Unfortunately, you don’t have any items at this point so watch your HP very closely and fight defensively. After the scenes, you will now be in Ringford palace. If you want, you may want to get the Saturn Bangle from the merchant. There is a portal there that leads to the Pooka Village but since you don’t have any ingredients right now, ignore it and exit.
Chapter 1 – Nebulapolis (Shadow Knight) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Oswald’s style of combat is aggressive. You need to keep on attacking. Don’t hesitate to eat as much mulberries as you can; they can get you to level 10+ easily. Oswald’s first Psypher skill is Invisible, in combat terms, it is not that useful‐ escape for escaping and using items. You may want to prioritize growing seeds instead of absorbing phozons. Use your Muggle Seeds over and over again to further increase your level early on.

You should already know the strategy of this battle. You need to take out all the shields in his body in order to damage him good. Combos always have the highest chance to dislodge his shields. It will still be early to learn Phozon Burst here but in case you did, use it. Again, you don’t really have to worry about the amount of damage you’ll get. As long as you fight defensively and attack at the right timing, you shouldn’t have that much problem
defeating him. This will be the first encounter of Gwendolyn and Oswald. After the short scene, you will be back to base. Check out the shop and the Pooka Village. If you have the proper ingredients, try to gain some few levels before conquering the next stage.
Chapter 2 – Raging Battlegrounds (Shadow Knight) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
The enemies here are almost the same as you have faced in Nebulapolis. At this point, you should have also learned how to use Oswald efficiently. Also, as tempting as it may be, avoid buying the small or bag. Wait for the large bag. It will be quite challenging to keep a good 16 slots for your items but getting the large bags later will make your storage 4x more.

BOSS: Halja You will be facing two of them in this battle. Their attacks are not that hard to evade and not that damaging. You may want to have at least a bottle of Antidote here. At this point, you should have learned Phozon Burst already. You need to wait for them to get close enough so that you can hit them both. They will change into bat‐like things and try to dash towards you; jump to avoid it. They will
call forth minions as well. If you see some spirits forming around you, quickly jump out of the way to avoid getting damaged too much. Attack aggressively; if you are able to create some Unlimited Power potion, this is the good time to use it. If you plan to take all the damage and fight face to face, then make sure you have a good supply of healing items. After some scenes, do the usual shopping and visiting Pooka village. BOSS: raging dragon, belial
Belial’s attack patterns are still the same. However, the tactics while using Oswald may be a bit different. You can use air combos to avoid most of Belial’s melee attacks. If he starts to absorb the air, you can get behind him and attack. Remember that he can swallow you up and deal continuous damage. It won’t be that damaging as long as your HP level is high and if you have Painkiller active.
You may want to use Painkiller to lessen the damage dealt to you and Unlimited Pow/ Shadow Knight form to deal more damage. Overall, this battle shouldn’t be that difficult. After a few scenes, you will immediately find yourself in the next stage you need to conquer.
Chapter 4 – Netherworld Endelphia (Shadow Knight) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
No special notes in this stage. Same as before, you will need to use Shine to lighten up some areas. The attack patterns of the sub‐bosses here are the same as the last time you fought them. Also, you need to wait for some enemies to materialize before even damaging them.

BOSS: demon lord odin
Odin has some damaging and fatal attacks but he won’t use it immediately. Most of the time, he will be spraying scatter beams using his eyes and stomp you flat. Just stay aggressive in this battle while anticipating his next move. When you see him charging his Balor, you may wish to stay or just keep on hacking away. You may want to use all your Phozon Bursts when his HP drops below 30% Again, the best thing you can do to make this
battle easier is by using Unlimited Pow (you should know that already), change into Shadow Knight then stay close to him. Using Painkiller and Regeneration will definitely transform Oswald into one mean killing machine…
After the battle, watch a few scenes. You will now be inside the Demon Lord’s Castle. Check out the shop and exit when ready. Elrit forest can now be revisited. You may want to conquer the stage again if you want some extra levels and items. If not, just proceed to your next destination.
Chapter 5 – Winterhorn Ridge (Shadow Knight) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
The first shop has a Pooka merchant and a portal to the Pooka village. You may want to use this and gain a few HP levels. The annoyances here will be the Ice Spirits and the Trolls since they can freeze you. Note that the trolls here may drop chests containing the rare Troll Molar –used to mix and produce more potent potions, if you kill them quickly. The Revenants here are still the same; just use the same tactics you used to defeat these guys.

BOSS: Raging Dragon, Wagner
As usual, Wagner’s attack patterns are still the same; you still need to do air combos most of the time to be able to hit him and damage him. Changing to Shadow Knight form won’t help since Wagner tends to move fast across the battlefield – which means he can evade your attacks before you can even hit him. Still, watch out for those spirits, since they can freeze/ set you ablaze. You can still ride his head and attack him from there. Remain
aggressive. Using Painkillers can further minimize the damage dealt to you, while using Unlimited Power at the same time will allow you to attack continuously and take most of the damage before healing. After the battle, read through the scenes. Prepare before heading out to your next destination.
Chapter 6 – Titania Capital (Shadow Knight) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Again, you will need to conquer each area in this stage while eliminating those annoying, cowardly old‐asses (sorcerers) and those ooze as well. Ordinary attacks won’t kill them and you should know (when using Cornelius) that the most effective way to get rid of them is by using attack potions such as Napalm and Toxin. However, Oswald has another way of dispatching these moving jellos. Just switch into Shadow Knight form and attack them.
For the sorcerers, the only way to defeat them quickly is by using Phozon Burst in the middle of their group or deflect those floating swords they summon to stun them a brief period.

BOSS: Skuldi, The Sorcerer
This battle is as hard as the last time you faced a wise man in the sewers. This time around, there will be two Revenants that will attack you. They can be a pain in the a** since they can summon Ice Elementals and just appear in the middle of nowhere. You won’t be able to attack Skuldi properly without dispatching these two sub‐bosses. You may want to use Phozon Burst while you have the two of them in range. Carefully initiated combos will also help on defeating them without getting damaged too much. Beware of Skuldi’s spell that can turn you into a Frog. Usually, the floor beneath you will have a green haze when he is using it. Make sure that you get out of the way. It will surely limit your abilities and movement – very dangerous if you still have those Revenants running around. Stay on your toes always to avoid this. If you are morphed into a frog, use a Metamorphosis potion otherwise, you may need to wait for the effect to run out (At least two minutes)
After the two Revenants are defeated (and absorb their phozons to replenish your Psypher gauge) concentrate on attacking Skuldi. Just note that this bastard is as annoying as those alley sorcerers. The same tactic can be used against him; deflect the floating sword that he summons and attack with a combo. He does it after doing certain number of attacks, though there are no specific patterns. Also, he will Oozes as backup as well – be careful since Skuldi can attack you freely while being trapped by an Ooze.
After the battle, the next few scenes will conclude the chapter and will give you the idea of your last stage. You will be in Titania. There will be three merchants here but the last one has the best deals. His goods are discounted. The first merchant has a portal to the Pooka Village behind him. Revisit previous stages if you want otherwise head to Volkenon Lava Pit.
Chapter 7 – Volkenon Lava Pit (Shadow Knight) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
You will need to use Coolers in this area. As much as possible, if you can just bring what you need in this area, that will be most efficient. Also try to stock on Elixirs, Unlimited Powers, Painkillers or anything that can give you the edge against sub‐bosses and the bossfight later. If you have taken time to revisit previous stages and collected ingredients for café and restaurant dishes, your level should be high enough to survive most attacks before ever having to heal.

BOSS: Inferno King, Onyx
This could be a tough or just a normal fight. If you have stocked a good supply of healing and buffing items, then you should be fine. You may also want to wear a Fireproof Charm if you have it or just the basic Jupiter Bangle. There is almost no way to evade his attacks exclusively. His fire attacks will always set on flames – which leaves you no choice but to press on attacking. At the start of the battle, use a Painkiller immediately. You may use an Unlimited Power after that and start hacking your way. Using Regeneration at the same time will provide you backup healing while you concentrate on attacking the enemy. If you have learned Overload, use it then use your Shadow Knight form, preferably after using Unlimited Pow. His basic attacks include the normal dash attack and fire shower, which leaves fiery traces on the ground that can damage you. Attack those to
clear the path. Later in the battle, he will start using a firetrap, which encloses you in a fiery ring. Attack the ring to cool it down. After it turns to rock, smash it to escape. Using air combos will always provide you with a better means of evading his attacks. You still need however, to stay close to win this battle completely.
After some short conversation with the defeated King Onyx, you will be back in the Old Castle, Terrace. Watch the short scene that will mark the end of this chapter. Congratulations for finishing this book! You may now access Fate, Velvet’s story.
Velvet – Fate "If one succumbs to the control of destiny and despair, the outcome will be simple; But we know we shall find out our true fate only in choosing a path that defies destiny" And here is the last playable character you can take control in the game, the Forest Witch, Velvet. Again, you may need to adjust to her attack style and controls. She may not that powerful but she has some advantages that separate her from the other characters. (After all, they are all unique.) And so far, she is the sexiest. : P
• Velvet can swing by pressing the jump
button again after a double jump. This is great for evading ground enemies and obstacles.
• Compared to other characters, Velvet’s movements seem restricted when performing a combo. This can leave her open to enemy counterattacks.
• Hold the Square button to release her chain and home into the nearest enemy.
• Her chains can extend into a decent range when performing a combo, very handy to take on more enemies at once.
• Velvet’s air combo has more hits and she can stay in the air longer. • Velvet has average defense against physical, elemental attacks and status effects.
After the scenes, you will find yourself in the Pooka village. You can’t do much here but you can shop for equipment if you like. Entering the restaurant and café will be pointless at the moment since you don’t have any usable items for dishes, and the appropriate coins too. After some talking, you will know the first stage you need to visit. Yep, the Netherworld.
Chapter 1 – Netherworld Endelphia (Forest Witch) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Having the Netherworld as the first stage should not be new to you. Aside from stocking a couple of bottles of Shine, you may want to stock a bottle of antidote as well; this is for battling those Halja sub‐bosses. There could still be a lag in the overall gameplay in this area – which should be a known issue already so try to adjust yourself with the speed and delays. Aside from lighting pitch black areas, you can
also use Shine to materialize those ghastly enemies that can’t be hit by physical attacks.

BOSS: Odette, Queen of the Dead
For the first boss, this shouldn’t be that hard. Though there will still be some lag in the entire battle, you will still be able to attack and control Velvet normally. Just stay close to her and use air combos most of the time. You can deal more damage doing that compared to the normal combo in the ground. Ignore those flying minions since they won’t deal that much damage to you. If you have created a Painkiller (Material 2 + Cubsbane) use it immediately at the start of the battle. This will
allow you to stay up front and in close to the queen. Don’t stay on one position though; if you have completed a ground combo, get behind the do an air combo. She heals quickly while in her spider form so to cancel it, force your way inside and attack like crazy. Overall, Odette is not much of a boss.
After the battle, watch the scenes as usual. You will be back in the Pooka village. After that, prep and go to your next destination. You may also revisit the Netherworld for some extra goodies.
Chapter 2 – Ringford Forest (Forest Witch) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Ringford is overall not that hard. Take out those incoming enemy soldiers by using Cyclone. Use air combos against those fairies as well. For the Unicorn Knights, you can use Napalm or Toxin to take them out. The stage is abundant with Onionne and Caroteer mandragoras so you should be able to create them.

BOSS: Mercedes, the Fairy Queen
Like before, Mercedes is not that powerful (thank goodness!) in boss fights compared to playing as her. Her attacks can be easily avoided, not to mention that when she starts firing her bolts, she is open for attacks. Execute this weakness to defeat the fairy queen. She has one powerful shot but she doesn’t use that often. Just be careful and try not to take all the projectiles she’ll throw at you. Use painkillers at the start of the battle. You
may need to chase her around to hit her. At the start of the battle as well, get rid of the elementalist fairy. She will just constantly heal Mercedes. Once done, concentrate on attacking the main boss. Swing around to avoid those soldiers below, use Cyclone if they start to get in your way. After the battle watch the following scenes as always. As usual, prepare and head out to your next destination. You can now revisit Elrit Forest for some extra items and exp.
NOTE: Egg and Milk is not available in the Pooka Village since that will be Velvet’s base. If you plan to eat café or restaurant dishes that require eggs and milk, you know where to look.
Chapter 3 – Raging Battlegrounds (Forest Witch) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
You will fight Berseker and Unicorn Knight as sub‐bosses here. Again, the enemies you should look out for are the barbarians. They don’t stagger easily and can cause a lot of damage. Not to mention those annoying bomber dwarves and fairy elementalists.

BOSS: General Brigan
This battle can be quite tough if you are a bit underleveled. Most of Velvet’s attacks can’t destroy Brigan’s protective shields, aside from using Phozon Burst. Use combos, keep on your toes and always move to attack him from behind. His attacks leave him open; take this opportunity score a few hits then move into another position again. Use Painkiller, and if possible, use Unlimited Pow. If you can’t seem to destroy Brigan’s shields,
you can still defeat him, though that will make the battle longer. His most damaging attack is a grab so avoid staying in front of him and attacking like crazy. Watch the scenes and check out the inventory. If you were able to collect some ingredients for the Café and/or Restaurant, then visit them and earn a few levels.
Chapter 4 – Winterhorn Ridge (Forest Witch) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Goblins will join the fray of annoying enemies in this stage. So, aside from the usual Warmer, make sure you have stocked at least a couple of Antidotes to cure poison when you’re inflicted. When dealing with Revenants, you can use your chains’ distance to attack the sub‐boss. Use your standing combo to deal more damage than the usual forward‐pressed combo.

BOSS: Raging Dragon, Wagner
Basically, the same tactics apply here; when he attacks, evade and quickly jump on his head and attack him from there. I suggest saving your Phozon Bursts when his HP is already low. Air Combos work best against Wagner but since there are spirits floating around, this will make the battle a lot harder. Remember that Wagner’s attacks can be evaded most of the time but they deal considerable damage if it ever connects. It will be a good idea to stock some healing items. If
you have Regeneration and Painkiller, the better. Remember to use Cyclone if you ever find yourself cornered by Spirits and Wagner. After several scenes, you will now head to Elrit Forest. You won’t be able to revisit any previous stages yet until you finish the next chapter.
Chapter 5 – Elrit Forest (Forest Witch) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
The place is pretty much the same. Just make sure you carry a couple of Antidotes because enemies here can inflict poison in their attacks. Nothing special to note about this area; just play normally until you reach the boss area.

BOSS: Demon Lord Odin
Odin’s attack patterns remain the same. Be careful with his punches and combos. Look out also for his jump attacks, similar to what the sub‐bosses do. It can daze you and become open to his more powerful attacks. Avoid his Balor as much as possible; one hit from hit can cause considerable, if not, fatal damage. Save your Phozon Burst as finishing blows. The best ways to attack him is by constantly jumping behind him and use air combos. This is effective when he just uses his
scatter beams. Use Painkillers if you any and heal if ever your HP drops around 200. This is a threshold for most of his direct attacks. Watch the scenes after the battle as usual. Prepare for your next destination.
Chapter 6 – Titania Capital (Forest Witch) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
This could be the most annoying stage you’ll encounter for velvet. Those f***ing sorcerers, those annoying oozes and floating eyes can really test your patience. Those lame, old crooks loves to teleport after getting hit once or if you get too close. Not to mention that they can summon elementals, additional ooze and can turn you to a frog and other annoying stuff. The floating eyes’ projectiles can daze you, leaving you open for any incoming green globs
or those wicked sorcerer’s spells. For the oozes, you can use your charge or homing attack to destroy them. Keep an eye on your POW. This attack consumes more than half of the POW gauge.

BOSS: Beldor and Belial
This battle is two package in one. I suggest killing Belial first since he doesn’t have that much HP in this fight, not to mention that he is easier to hit. Just use the same tactics to defeat Belial, while carefully looking out for that bastard, Beldor. After defeating Belial, your headache begins. Beldor is one hell of an annoying old loon. He teleports frequently, while leaving you to deal with his magical attacks and summoned creatures. He summons oozes and spirits, which
can be a real pain, especially if you chasing him around. Be sure you have some antidotes on this battle, and preferably a good number of Elixirs. The best way to defeat Beldor is to wait for him to summon some floating swords. Attack them to deflect them back to him, and hope that they hit him. After getting hit, he will be stunned for 4‐5 seconds at least. This is good enough to complete a combo and some Phozon Bursts, Be careful of his Metamorphosis spell. Once you got turned to a frog, unless you have bottle of Metamorphosis in your inventory, you gotta wait for the effect to wear off, while evading his attacks. That alone can really piss you off. Just hold off your temper, be cool and you should be able to anticipate his next moves.
After the battle, to our dismay, Velvet is still captured and Beldor is happily chatting with his crooked friends. As much as you want to see him blow into bits and tear him limb from limb, which is not possible, you can only watch the scenes. Your next destination is the last stage you’ll enter. Before going there, I suggest stocking up with all the support potions, healing potions and make sure you level up Velvet.
You may want to revisit other stages, preferably Ringford, if you want to create some Elixers. Caroteers are abundant in that stage. You may also consider gathering ingredients for high level dishes in the Restaurant and Café. (Example: Lamb Steak)
Chapter 7 – Nebulapolis (Forest Witch) Shop # 1 Shop # 2
Alright, the last stage. At last! Now first of all I suggest collecting caroteers and if possible create 4‐5 elixirs at least. Don’t get me wrong though. This is not for the boss in this stage but for the next book after Velvet’s. We will tackle that later on. The warriors in this area are dangerous when in groups; avoid fighting them in close. Use Cyclone, Toxin or Napalm to get rid of them. Every other common enemy is practically easy.

BOSS: The Beast of Darkova
This beast’s main attacks are fire‐based so just in case you have a Fireproof Charm in stock in your inventory, use it. To start the battle, as always, use Painkiller and optionally, Unlimited Pow. You may want to use Overload if you used that. In this battle, you need to destroy all the 3 heads of the beast. You can use Phozon Burst to damage all heads at the same time.
Most of their attacks can be avoided since Velvet can swing to safety after a double jump. Just heal when needed and attack as much as you could. Now watch the last scenes for the book. Congratulations for finishing all the five books! But the battle does not end there. You can now read the next book, Armageddon. More details below.
Armageddon
“The world now bids farewell, five seals are unlocked and the catastrophe has been unleashed; Both the living and the dead will witness the judgement of heaven and earth”
Here you will need to battle 5 bosses, one for each of your character. Before doing so, I suggest having each of your characters to be at least LV40 in HP and LV35 in Psypher. Stock a lot of Elixirs and high level healing items (take outs from the Pooka Café and Kitchen) and support items (Painkillers, Antidotes, Unlimited Power, Regeneration). Carrying some Extra Phozons will surely help, in case you need to fill your Psypher gauge in the middle of the battle.
The orders of the bosses are the same and the ending depends on the sequence of the characters you’ll use to defeat all of them. You will need to go through the process of defeating them four times in order to get all the scenes and complete the archives. You can only save after defeating a boss and not during the battle, unlike the normal bosses. In case you can’t defeat a boss, you can reset your PS2, start the character’s story again to gain some levels and stock some items. Note that you don’t need to finish the character’s story over again; when you read Armageddon, you can start from the point where you last saved your game. The items you have and levels you gained during your second playthrough will be automatically be carried over in the fight. The bosses aren’t that hard, as long as you have the items I mentioned above and your levels are high. To get the good ending and unlock the last book, the Wheel of Fate, you need to follow a specific sequence when battling the final bosses1

So watch the events that set the world to its feet. The activation of the Cauldron, the rise of the dead from the Netherworld, the Undead’s successful invasion of Ragnanival, the death of the Demon Lord and the march of the fire creatures inland are one the few signs of the impending Armageddon that awaits Erion.
The Six‐Eyed Beast
BOSS: Beast of Darkova This is the same beast that you battled during Velvet’s last stage. But now, aside from having those fire attacks, they can also use Ice attacks, create stone barricades, and use Poison attacks. Make sure that you have some Antidotes and a lot of healing items for this battle. From time to time, the beast will create stone pillars to block your path. Attack those to destroy them. You can also get two phozons from them.
Expect the same fire attacks from the boss. One of the new attacks is a poison cloud. When you see the air above turn violet, do not jump! Wait for it to subside, unless you have a Detox Charm equipped. Also, the boss can create an Ice Pillar and can freeze the ground also. Stepping on the frozen ground won’t damage you but it is too slippery that you will simply slide off. The ice pillar can deal continuous damage if you get pinned there while helplessly sliding off from the frozen ground. Use your air combos and Phozon Burst while in the middle of all the 3 heads. Concentrate on taking out one head at a time. If you have Painkiller and Regeneration both active, then you can remain aggressive in this battle. Just be careful of the attacks mentioned above and you should be fine.
Lord of the Netherworld
BOSS: Gallon, King of the Netherworld Meet the original three‐headed beast that used the power of Darkova. You should do fine as long as you have a good supply o f healing items. Like the first boss, you need to destroy each of the heads.
His common attack is when he shakes some debris from his body, which deals small but continuous damage if you don’t move away. Also, he can stretch his tongues and target you. After a while, he will burrow his head to the ground and attack you with his head. From time to time, he will also summon a Halja (which you can’t attack, by the way). You can evade this by double jumping out to safety. If ever you get caught between his necks, stay
away from it while it is moving. Once it stops, you can jump out to safety. Use air combos here as usual. Remember that you can step over his heads and attack there. When near death, he will open his chest, revealing a stone/heart for a short time. You need to destroy it before his chest closes again. If you failed to destroy it in time, his HP will recover, but not full. You will repeat the process again until you defeat him.
Incantation of Fire BOSS: Inferno King Onyx
This boss could be the hardest yet. He has a high defense, not to mention that his attacks are damaging as well. His rush attack leaves you with no space to evade at all. Since evading most of his attacks are almost not possible, you should do it the noob’s way. Take damage while attacking like crazy. Surprisingly, it is effective. First, you should have a lot of healing items in stock. If you are using low DEF characters like Mercedes and Velvet, consider using Painkillers
first. Having Regeneration and Unlimited Power active can also save you a lot of trouble attacking this boss up front. Just attack, heal and attack.
The Cauldron BOSS: The Cauldron
The only way to defeat this boss is to attack the eye located in the top. Now, getting there can be a bit tricky, especially if it starts to move. Step on the gray pipes to reach the top level. Double‐jumping is enough to traverse from pipe to pipe. For the first part of the battle, the Cauldron will stay in the ground, while sending its snake‐like tentacles to attack you from the sand. Make your way to the top and attack the eye. Having
Unlimited Power active here can save you at lot of time and will enable you deal continuous damage without recharging. Make sure that you watch out for the messages on the screen; if you see the eye absorbing phozons, you can actually absorb some yourself. But when everything brightens and the message to stay away from the Cauldron appears, quickly get off and go at a distance. The eye will release a very powerful attack (at LV47, it dealt about 900+ damage) After the attack, you can make your way back to the top again. After a short while, the Cauldron will stand up and walk. Avoid getting underneath it since its feet can crush you. Make your way to the top; be careful of the steams since it can eat up a large amount of HP if you don’t move quickly. Once you reach the top, the eye will deploy several protective limbs that can attack you. Get rid of them quickly or you will be thrown off if they hit you. Use Phozon Burst while in their midst will surely take care of them all at once, while dealing damage to the eye at the same time.
After a few attacks, the eye will somehow be ‘stunned’. When that happens, the Cauldron will fall to the ground. Now the eye will be open for some attacks before it recovers. Once it recovers, it will deploy the same protective limbs. Repeat the process or if you are short in Phozons to use any skill, you can just jump and use air combos to avoid getting hit by the limbs while dealing damage to them as well. Repeat the process to defeat the boss. It has a very high HP so it may take a while. It is also possible to
stay on top and repeat the pattern against the eye.
Last Dragon BOSS: Levanthan, the Last Dragon
This could remind you of the famous Snake Road in the anime, Dragon Ball Z. Anyways, who would think that the small baby dragon you keep on defeating in the previous books, can grow this enormously large? You will start off in the lower level. You need to work your way to the top, to Levanthan’s head. As you make your way up, lightning orbs and strikes will try to stop you. For lightning strikes, you can anticipate where they will hit since you will see a white line in the screen, few seconds before they strike. For the orbs, it is tricky to evade them but they don’t deal that much damage anyway. From time to time also, Levanthan will lower his head and attack you with his ever powerful blast. You can just use air combos then avoid the blast altogether. If you made your way to the top, immediately use Overload and Unlimited Pow. After that, attack like crazy. Compared to the past bosses, this one is a
giveaway. After the battle, you will now be able to unlock the last book, Wheel of Fate. (This will be delivered to Alice’s attic by Cornelius and Velvet, by the way) Read it to view the true ending.
Wheel of Fate Nothing much to put here but some screenshots from the book. And the foreign merchant for Bombay has some cameo appearance too.
