SSttaarr SSiiggnnssStar Signs22 December to21 JanuaryCAPRICORN
Meeting people that can benefit your career, gettingtogether with colleagues, or getting to know your superiors
on a more personal, friendly basis is quite likely at thistime. Take advantage of all opportunities to socialize withthe people you have professional ties with for the outcome
is likely to be quite positive.
21 January To20 FebruaryAQUARIUS
A furious battle of wills is quite possible, for you are firedup, impatient, aggressive, and inclined to put your owninterests and desires ahead of anything else. You may
also have to stand up for your rights against some fiercecompetitor. Also, you can't sit still right now and hasty,
abrupt, impulsive action may result in accidents.
20 February to21 MarchPISCES
This is a good time to assert your own needs anddesires, to communicate to others what you
really want. You are sharp, clear, decisive, andarticulate. You can't stand being idle now; youare ready for challenging, intellectual activities
and attacking difficult problems on the job.
21 March to21 AprilARIES
You experience sudden insights, make discoveries, comeup with fresh solutions to old problems, and seek
alternatives to the usual routine way of doing things.Your mental processes are speeded up and you move
more quickly now. Try to make room for a lot ofspontaneity and flexibility in your schedule at this time.
21 April to21 MayTAURUS
Your personal charm and attractiveness has a positiveeffect on your career, reputation, or public image. Peoplesee you as a loving and lovable person and as someone
who is aware of their needs and feelings, which canbenefit you at this time. Others are willing to help and
cooperate with your aims.
22 June to23 JulyCANCER
For now, your energy needs to go into your personal life, home, andfamily matters. Stress which has been building up both at work and inyour family relationships needs to be released now. Try to work out or
find ways to express yourself physically, like working in the yard orplaying sports; otherwise, you are prone to becoming pugnacious with
the people you are closest to.
21 May to22 JuneGEMINI
You are fascinated by the mysterious now. Unsolved orpuzzling problems and the hidden or behind the scenes
aspects of a situation interest you most, and you delve andprobe until you discover the truth. An interest in psychologyor other peoples' secrets comes to the fore. You enjoy spy,
mystery, and supernatural stories.
23 Julie to24 AugustLEO
Misunderstandings with a friend or someone you areusually in harmony with are likely to arise now, especiallyif you feel you are being taken for granted. You are moreacutely aware of differences in style, taste, or values. You
will want your personal preferences to be appreciated andtaken into account.
24 August to23 SeptemberVIRGO
You will want a break from the predictability of your usualroutine and methods. You're in the mood to experiment andto learn something new. Offbeat or original ideas excite youand you will seek people who can offer you a different way
of looking at things. Discovery, inventiveness, andspontaneity are major themes now.
23 September to23 OctoberLIBRA
At this time you have important discussions with people youare (or once were) very close to. You may wish to visit, write,
or make a telephone call to someone from your past.Connecting with your roots is the theme now, with an
emphasis on seeing the past objectively. Memories and oldfeelings surface very clearly now.
23 October to23 NovemberSCORPIO
You experience sudden insights, make discoveries, comeup with fresh solutions to old problems, and seek
alternatives to the usual routine way of doing things. Yourmental processes are speeded up and you move morequickly now. Try to make room for a lot of spontaneity
and flexibility in your schedule at this time.
23 November to22 DecemberSAGITTARIUS
You know just what you want right now and woe to anyone oranything that gets in your way! You are much more likely to becomedomineering, pushy, or inconsiderate of others now, so it is a goodtime for you to do what you need to do by yourself rather than withothers. Accidents, mistakes made in haste, or ego conflicts may occur
due to your impatience and willfulness.

colour. Beat in the eggs, one at a time until mixture is light and fluffy. Sift together the flour, mixed spice, nutmeg, baking powder andcinnamon and fold into the wet ingredients together with the dried fruit and 90ml brandy. Pour batter into the lined baking tin, and
using a spoon make a slight dent in the middle. Cover cake with foil. Place a Bain-Marie on the bottom shelf of the oven and place thecake on a wire rack directly on top. (This prevents the cake from drying out). Bake in oven for 3 ½ hours or until a skewer inserted in
the middle comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to cool on a wire rack. Pour 3 tbsp of brandy over the cooled cake and storewrapped in foil in an airtight container. Douse cake with a few extra tablespoons of brandy every week until ready to decorate. Cover
cake with marzipan and plastic icing if desired.

You the Entrepreneur: Where are the jobs?DAVID MALHERBE
After 12 years of school, youngpeople are usually bright-eyedabout the future, but roundabout this timeof theyear,news-papers will tell you how littlechanceyouhaveof landinga job.
This is nothing new though. I’veread about that since I left school.
Please do not lend your ears tonoisy negatives. It is not the news-paper thatwill define your future. It is in yourown hands. Believe in yourself. You canmakeit. You need to be sure of yourself before youcan ever win a prize. It is all in the state ofthe mind.
The way we think about something deter-
mines our attitude and thereforeour actions and future.
Zig Ziglar says most of us sufferfrom“stinkenthinken.”Webelievethat we can only have a “bright fu-ture” when we can land a job witha stable income at some big compa-ny. If not, we tend to blame the sys-tem, the school or whatever.
We think that adversity in anyform is bad. But it isn’t. Peter Cur-ruthersinPetesWeeklysaysthatad-versity is not the opposite of a
bright future.Adversity is fertile soil inwhicha bright future blooms. Think about it. Whatlife skills do we learn if we walk into the firstjobwe apply for? Ten rejections teach usmorethan the five years we spent at high school.
If you cannot “find” a job, perhaps you can
“make” your own job. Many peoplewho todayhave those “bright futures” that we dreamt ofwhen I was at school, are those who venturedout on their own.
Most probably they started on a small scale, experienced hardships; some might even atsomestagehavelosteverything, butgotupandstarted anew. They knew their destiny was intheir ownhands and they just kept going. Andtoday they reap the benefits.
The best time to start out on your own iswhile you are still living at home. And believeme, you can. God gave you a spirit to conqueradversity.* David Malherbe is a business and career
consultant and lives in Wellington. He can becontacted via his web page www.jedidi-ah.org.za or 021 873 0262 or on Facebook at “Jydie Entrepreneur.”

About tenyears ago hestarted writingtraining manu-als for work-shops.
“One day my wife showed me all thetrainingmanuals I’vecompletedandaskedme: ‘Herbert, why don’t you write abook?’.”
“In 2012 I started towrite themanuscriptformy first book, but did not finish it. Lastyear my wife asked me when am I goingto finish my writing. I decided to take themanuscript out again to finish it.”
AftermuchresearchMulondodecided to
self-publish hisvery first book, which is a spiri-tual book calledThe Supernatu-ral Power of thePropheticAnointing.
“When I heldmy first book inmyhands, it wassuch a good feel-ing. I felt like therichest man inthe world.”
This year heself-publishedtwo more books,How to Plan andPrepare for Suc-cess and WhySuccessful Lead-ers are not likeOthers.
The last twobooks are self-helpbooksaboutsuccess.
Today hewould like tohelp other aspir-ing writers toreach theirdreams.
“I had no help, but refused to
throw in the towel. Now I want to help oth-ers who have the same dream I had. I wantthem to remember that today’s sacrificeswill be for tomorrow’s rewards.”
Mulondo said the response he got fromhis books, tells him that there is a need toeducate people onhow to be successful per-sonally and in business.
