We were saddened to hear of

    the

    we

    our

    most im portan t

    was to take care of

    the

    Kitchen*s home.

    We

were thankful that we were able

    to

    of help. Mrs.

    Dear Brothers

    The

    supplied

    u s with

    m a n y

    blessings during the

    month of July

    for which

    we

    are

    thankful.

    Steve's parents and

    For four

    i n Ontario,

    shared

    a passage

    the

    a

    lot

    of help

    from the

    Rosses

    and

    the Simons a , n d a teenager, our neighbor

    in

    the

    old

apartment building. It has taken us most of the month

    to

    get the place organized.

    It

    is

    quickly

    beginning

    to feel like

    h o m e - , .

    The teenager,

    Mark,

    and

    his mother moved

    in next

    door

    to

    us here

    shortly

    after

    we moved.

    So

    we

    were

    able

    to help

    them

    a

    little

    too. We will have

    many

opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ with them. They are good

    friends

    and

    very open

    to

    us.

The 15th and l6th of the month, Rhonda

    and

    Louise Kitchen attended

    a ladies' retreat

    at the Christian

service camp in Shelburne, Cnt. They had a

    great

    time

    of

    fellowship

    as

    they

    got

    acquainted with

    many ladies

    from the

    Ontario cong re

    g a t i o n s . Autumn

    Huron from Canton, Ohio, was

    the guest

    speaker.

    On Sunday, the

    2 4 t h f

Steve was g uest speaker once again with the Ottawa-Garleton Christian Church in

Ottawa, Ontario. W e enjoyed the time of fellowship and g etting

    acquainted with

    our

brethren there. The last weekend of

    this

    month, the West Island

    Church

    of Christ

    and

    the Ottawa

    congregation

    will be having

    a

ellow ship campout near Gracef ield, Quebec

    with the Richard Kitchen

    family. W e are

    looking

    forward

    to a

    gceat

    time.

    We have b e e n with our church m e m b e r s quite a bit

    this

    month. W e

    have entertained

    in

our home and have been invited out

    to

    others'

    as

    well. Recently»

we had the priviledge of sharing our

    home

    with the Daniel Kalnin

    family as

    they

    travelled

    through

    Montreal on their way to

    the M a r l t i r a e s . They

    are missionaries to

Thailand. Since they were here the night of

    our

    weekly prayer meeting, w e

    asked

    them

to share their work with us. It was an interesting evening

    for all.

All of these things have kept us busy, and October promises to be

    just

    as full.

    Thanksgiving comes

    on

    the

    9 ' t b .

Then on the 11th, Steve will be

speaking in chapel at Ontario Christian Seminary and we will attend the college convo

    cation

    and inauguration

    of Donald Stevenson

    as

    their second

    president. Then we will

    b e

    in

    the States

    for

    some

    of our supporters.

    Dear Brothers and Sisters

    In

    Christ,

    October

    can

    be summed up

    in two

    words - travel"

    and

    "fellowship."

    The driving

    was tiring but the

    fellowship made

    It all worth It

The month started with the weekend

    camp-out

    In

    Gracefield, Quebec

    which

we mentioned In our last letter. It

    was

    more

    of a *camp-ln

    due to

    the

    rainy

    weather. There

    were

    I5 of us In all

    from

    Montreal, Gracefield, Manlwakl, and Ottawa

    and we

    all

    enjoyed the fellowship that

    only

    Christians can have.

    The Canadian Thanksgiving weekend

    (Oct.

    9)

    was

    a

    busy one

    for

    us too.

    We spent

    Saturday

    at a

    lodge

north of Montreal with the Simon family and three of

    their

    friends.

This gave us the opportunity to get to know a young couple

    who

    had

visited our worship service earlier and a young

    man,

    a

    former

    member of

    the

    church

    who

    Is

    now attending

    school in

    the Eastern

    Townships

    area of Quebec. Sunday

    worship

attendance was quite low with everyone gone for the holiday.

    But

    since

    then

    our

attendance has picked up again. Our group Is small (12) but faithful.

    On

the 11th of the month Steve

    spoke

    In

    chapel

    at Ontario Christian

    Seminary

    In

Toronto. The 13th we were present

    for

    the

    school's convocation

    and

Inauguration of their second president, Donald Stevenson. Our three

    days

    In Toronto

    were a great

    joy.

    We became better

    acquainted

    with

    the

    students s i n

    our.brethren

    there

    were a

great encouragement to us. We are

    grateful to Nelson Deultch

    and

    his

    family for offering

    us

    their loving hospitality.

    We then

    spent

eleven days In the States visiting

    some

    of our

    supporters In

    Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.

    Ihe

    love

    and

    Interest we

    encountered

    has gr eatly encouraged

    us

    In our

    work.

    We thank all of you

    whom

    we had the oppor

    tunity of sharing

    with

    for

    your

    openness and hospitality

    and

    continued support.

    After

    we

    returned

    home

    to

    Montreal, Steve and David

    Simon left

    for

    the men's

    retreat

    at the

    Church camp

    In Shelburne, Ontario. The

    guest speaker

    at

the retreat was Robert Phi llips,

    president

    of Lincoln

    Ch ristian C ollege.

    We were

    uplifted

    and challenged

    by

    the

    program

    and the fellowship. We learned

    a

    lot about

    our slster-congregatlons

In Ontario as well The Skip Daniels

    family

    graciously

    offered their hospitality

    to us f ollowing

    the

retreat. All of this travelling Is

    a

    great

    effort

    and

    expense

    but the

    church

    here deeply feels the need

    for

    fellowship

    with those of

    like

    precious faith.

    Each

    time we participate

    In

    a program with th e

    Ontario churches of Christ

    this

    tie is strengthened

    and

    all

    the members of the body

    Dear

    Brothers and

    Sisters

    in Christy

    I l a n y good things have

    happened

recently and i r e have been very

    busy. .But

    there

    have

    been

    frustrations too. It seems

    sometimes

    the

    two must

    go together.

    Church group activities

    are

    keeping us busy.

    We

    just finished

    a series of

    four

    sermons from

    the

    book of Jonah. These s e r r a o n s i dealing with

    e v a n g e l i s m

    l e a d right i n t o o u r s t u d y of

    e v a n g e l i s m

    in

    m i d - w e e k p r a y e r m e e t i n g s .

    Our study

    is

    a

    series

    of

    lessons

    on evangelism from

    David C. Cook

    Publishing

    entitled Good l i i r s

is for Sharing. This is proving beneficial

    to

    our group

    already

    as we

    have discussed

    what

    evangelism is

    and

    the

    fears t l i a t

    plague us

    all.

We recommend this material to you.

    We had a

    bowling party

    in

    mid-Uovember

    and a

    few teenage

    boys

    came along

    with Graham

    Ross, Afterrfard

we came hone to the Rosses for

    a

    chili

    supper

    and

    the parents

    and family

    of one

    young

    man joined

    us.

    V f e

    had

    a

    nice visit

    together

and we learned a lot about Jamaica, their homeland.

    Future

    contact v r i t h

    this family is

    promising.

    Please be

    praying that

    God

    will provide opportunities

    to talk

    more

    with them.

On Ilovonber 19 Steve w as privilodged to preach and speak about

    our

    work

    the
