The Paulo Freire Method• Originally an adult education method;
• 1962: taught reading/writing for 300 sugar-cane workers in 45 days without using textbooks;
• 3 steps method:1. Aquaintance with the students’ previous knowledge ;
2. Social analysis of the words and themes – from common sense to a critical view ;
3. Challenge the students to go beyond the simple, non-critical view of the world.
