Review Meeting of Rourkela Development by Commissioner-

cum-Secretary, H&UD Department

Work Shop on Awaas (Housing for All)

A work shop on Awaas (Housing for All) has been organized in Rourkela Municipal Corporation. The

government land under which houses would be built for urban poor under the "Affordable Housing in Partnership"

component of urban housing mission.

Shri Durga Prasad Mohapatra, OAS(SB), Municipal Commission of Rourkela has delivered inaugural address

and briefed about Housing for All scheme. Shri K. Sudharsan Charobarthy, IAS, Administrator, Rourkela Municipal

Corporation and Secretary, RDA, Rourkela, Shri Sarada Prasad Nayak, Chairman, RDA, Rourkela and Srhri Subrat

Tarai, Hon’ble MLA, Raghunathpali has also present in this Workshop and they are also gave their views in this

Workshop.

The Mission of the program will be implemented

during 2015-2022 and will provide central assistance

to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and other implementing

agencies through States/UTs for:

1. In-situ Rehabilitation of existing slum dwellers

using land as a resource through private

participation

2. Credit Linked Subsidy

3. Affordable Housing in Partnership

4. Subsidy for beneficiary-led individual house

construction/enhancement.

A Review Meeting was held on Dt.

04.11.2015. Shri G. Mathivathnan, IAS,

Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Govt. of Odisha

had taken review meeting for Development

work of Rourkela Municipal Corporation and

PHEO, Rourkela. He also visited various places to

review the physical & financial progress of

different projects.

Conduct of First Executive Committee Meeting of RKS under

UPHC, Urban Family Welfare Centre, Udit Nagar, Rourkela

The Urban Primary Health Centre, Urban Family Welfare

Centre, Udit Nagar was shifted to Leprosy Eradication

Unit, Udit Nagar(In front of Sub-Collector

Office),Rourkela. It was formally inaugurated by Sri

Durga Prasad Mohapatra, Municipal Commissioner,

Rourkela Municipal Corporation, Rourkela on Dtd-28th

Nov 2015 in the presence of Medical Officer and all

health staffs of UPHCs. Among others, EC members of

RKS, ANMs & ASHAs working under SCs of UPHC

UFWC. The UPHC will start functioning of OPD services

very soon with specialist services(O & G & Pedi.)

However, the same institution will be continuing in the

said place until the new building is positioned at

Balughat.

The first Executive Committee Meeting of RKS, UPHC,

UFWC, Udit Nagar was held on 26.11.15 at Leprosy

Eradication Unit, Udit Nagar, Rourkela under the

Chairmanship of Dr.Puspamitra Mishra, SDMO cum Nodal

Officer, NUHM, Rourkela after joining as Nodal Officer,

NUHM, Rourkela. All members of EC,RKS participated in

the meeting except few ones. Some key decisions were

taken in the EC meeting to make the UPHC functional

with full-fledged services as per norm of UPHC, NUHM

during a short span of time with utmost attention on

patient welfare & quality health services. The health

institutions will be equipped very shortly along with

provision of weekly part-time specialist services. Some

IEC activities for increasing awareness of people living in

nearby slums/ areas to be undertaken as per the valuable

suggestions of RKS members.

Barik, Programme Assistant, NUHM,Rourkela. The rest batches of training of AWWs of ICDS Project of Rourkela City,

Rourkela Civil Township & all ASHAs have been planned to be completed in ensuing December 2015.

Engagement of Part-time Specialist Doctors for UPHC, DAVMAC & UFWC, Rourkela

The fifth EC meeting of RKS, UPHC, DAVMAC, Basanti Colony,

Rourkela was held under the Chairmanship of Dr.Puspamitra

Mishra, SDMO cum Nodal Officer, NUHM, Rourkela on Dtd-

27.11.15 in presence of Dr. Manoj Pati, MO, Mr. N.R. Pratihary,

City Programme Manager, NUHM, Rourkela & other concerned

members. The progress of work & activities performed as per

the decision taken in the last EC meeting of RKS, UPHC,

DAVMAC was elaborated by the Medical Officer. Some key

decisions were taken which includes provision of L.T services at

the earliest, branding of some IEC activities for visibility of

hospital, display of root chart board of UPHC at various

prominent locations, supply of equipments of UPHC, formation

of Governing Body of UPHC, introduction of outdoor ticket with

free of cost, collection of users fee charges for laboratory

services etc.

There are 03 batches of field level training of

AWWs on UHND was held from 18th to 20th Nov

2015 at IMA House, RGH, Rourkela. There are 107

nos of AWWs out of 115 nos belongs to ICDS

project, Industrial Sector trained on packages of

UHND services, guideline, various role of

AWWs,ASHA and some skills like measurement of

MUAC, Stadiometre, Baby weighing scale(Sulter)

etc for increasing the capacity of workers for giving

quality health services to Pregnant Women,

Children 0-6 Yrs and lactating mothers. The

training was impacted by Dr.Puspamitra Mishra,

SDMO cum Nodal Officer, NUHM, Rourkela,

MOs,UPHCs like Dr. Manoj Pati,Dr. M.Sunita Debi,

ICDS Supervisors like Jyostna Tripathy, Sukesinin

Dr.Dillip Kumar Sahu, (O&G), UPHC, UFWC, Udit Nagar, Dr.Arun

Sanga,(Paed), UPHC,UFWC, Dr. Ramesh Chandra Nanda(Med),

UPHC,DAVMAC, Dr.Suresh Kumar Bansal(Med),UPHC,UFWC were

engaged as part-time specialist services on weekly basis in

designated UPHCs.
