下鴨 Shimogamo（下鴨神社 Shimogamo Jinja・鴨川公園

Kamogawa Park）

下鴨は鴨川と高野川の合流点の北側に位

置し，有名な下鴨神社がある．下鴨神社は

京阪出町柳駅から徒歩で約 15 分のところ

にあり，正式には「賀茂御祖神社（かもみ

おやじんじゃ）」と呼ばれる．奈良時代以前

から神社の祭りである葵祭が行われていた

記録があり，かなり古い時代に創建された

と思われる．境内は糺の森と呼ばれ、南北

約600 m東西約200 mの常緑広葉樹の森

である．

下鴨神社境内や神社近くの鴨川公園の樹

木には痂状地衣類や葉状地衣類，石垣や露

岩には痂状地衣類が多数観察された．

Shimogamo is in north area of the

junction of Kamo River and Takano River.

A famous shrine, Shimogamo Jinja

located in this area is officially called

"Kamo Mioya Jinja", that is at 15

min.-walk from Demachiyanagi Station of

Keihan Railway. This shrine was thought

to be built in ancient times, because Aoi

Festival held in this shirine has continued

since the Nara Period. It has

Tadasu-no-mori where evergreen

hardwoods cover an area of 600 m in

north-south direction and 200 m in

east-west direction.

In this shrine and Kamogawa Park near

by this shrine, many of crustose and

foliose lichens were found on bark of

trees and crustose ones grow

aboundantly on stone walls and rocks.
