Q122A waste connector. APPLICATIONThe Automatic Air Vent EA122 is suitable for heating systemsand other hot water systems (not potable water) which requirethe efficient automatic removal of air from water. The vacuumbreak on the bottom of the valve prevents an air lock forming andencourages air to be released from water. The air vent can befitted anywhere in the positive pressure side of the system whereair is likely to be trapped.

AUTOMATIC AIR VENT EA122

� InstallationThe EA122 should be installed at anypoint in the system where air collects.To ensure efficient operation wheninstalled on a horizontal pipe run, ashort upstand should be provided sothat the vacuum break is not in thewater flow.The vacuum break enables the air tobe released more easily by providingseparate pathways into the valveenabling water to flow out as airenters. The Q122A wasteconnector enables 6mm pipe to beconnected to the air vent wheninstalled in difficult inaccessiblepositions.

The body can be twisted against thebrass base and the integral stop valvewill shut off the water flow. Thisenables the cover valve and float tobe removed for inspection andcleaning.

NOTE. Automatic air vents should onlybe fitted to the positive pressure sideof the system.

� Leakage GuardSometimes dirt can get under theseat of an automatic air vent causinga leak. The EA122 is fitted withexpandable discs under the red capthat expand on contact with water sopreventing the possibility of leaks andwater damage.

NOTE. After initial venting, the capshould be screwed down tight.
