4. Do whatever it takes to change. Change is constant, and it is what keeps life
interesting and intriguing. Don’t fear change; rather, embrace it. Change is a gift, and we
get to unwrap it every day. It’s the present!
To do nothing or to do something is a decision; are you making the right choice? Iwas confronted by a suspect once who was high on PCP. I had no backup, and there I
was, dealing with a life-or-death situation. I decided to offer this person a choice. I told
him he must either get on his knees and allow me to handcuff him, or I would shoot himfor my own safety. He had a choice, and as high as he was, he realized I had given him
the dignity to do the right thing. He looked into my eyes and knew that I cared and did
not want to take this confrontation to a fatal end. He turned and allowed me to handcuff him.
On the way to the station, I spoke to him about purpose and that he could make a
decision to live a life of blessings or to die a horribly ugly death. I don’t know if what I
said directly influenced him, but possibly a seed was planted. Somewhere along the way,he did decide to make a change, because today, this gentleman is an attorney in civil
rights and is making a difference in the world. He made a change that came directly from
a decision.A) Write out what you are willing to change in order to live your life with purpose
and happiness. If you are willing to change careers or cut down on your TVwatching, for instance, include that here. You may wish to refer to your list of
complaints and distractions that you listed in steps 1 and 3.

B) Now, list five to ten words or phrases representing the most important aspects of
your life, such as your children and your spouse. This could also include things
in your job or volunteer work or within your chosen path of spirituality/faith.This list should include personal aspects of your life that motivate and inspire
you—that make you want to live a purposeful life and to leave a lasting legacy.

5. Create energy and enthusiasm in your life. A warrior is passionate and
directed. Once you have discovered your purpose and made the decision to be a warrior, your energy level will skyrocket into the next dimension. Passion, energy, and
enthusiasm are absent in most of our lives. Unleashing your inner warrior will create an
energy field that will attract success, happiness, and spiritual contentment.
I was bound and determined to be a police officer. I was told by most people that inspite of my desire, I was too short and small in stature to ever make it. My purpose and
my decision to do whatever it took created an unstoppable energy and excitement. I
studied and researched the field of law enforcement extensively, and to meet departmentrequirements at that time, I even inserted lifts in my shoes to meet the height
specifications.
I began my career in the police department as a cadet at the age of 20. One day in theclassroom, I overheard the chief of police and the sergeant discussing that one of the
academy candidates had quit and they were short one officer. I immediately excused
myself to tell the chief of police that I would be 21 years old at the end of the academyand that they would never find another person more dedicated and enthusiastic about law
enforcement than me. I told them they didn’t even have to pay me; just put me in the
academy. I was hired on the spot and started the academy the following Monday.I finished ninth in a class of fifty, and two days after my 21st birthday, I was on the
streets as a full-fledged police officer. Purpose, along with a decision fueled by energyand enthusiasm, created a vibration that shocked the world—and ultimately, I succeeded.
When you wake in the morning, do you have that energy, enthusiasm, and the kind of
vibration that shakes the world in a positive manner? Or are you just going through the
motions? Spend some time writing out the things that give you the most energy andexcitement. What are you passionate about? Write it down!

After working through the steps above, you should have a fairly good idea of whatyour purpose is. Now is the time to take action! Stop living in the past, and stop
predicting the future. Be in the present—remember, it is the gift we get every single day.
Do the next appropriate thing that gets you one step closer to your purpose.
We will ultimately be judged on our actions and not our intentions. I have had tomake very difficult and life-changing decisions in my life, and until I was willing to takeaction, and did so, nothing ever changed. Actions and new habits must be done
consistently to form new and positive changes. Through the steps I’ve described inUnleash Your Inner Warrior , you can make these changes. The questions remain, are you
willing and are you teachable? I hope you answer “Yes!” to these.
The fundamentals of becoming a warrior are simple, and it all begins with that first
step. Replacing fear with faith and taking direction is the key to unleashing your innerwarrior. You are here to do great things, and I believe that no matter where you have
come from and what abuse or difficulties you have experienced, it is your blessing to live
your life with a purpose. Unleashing your inner warrior will give you the strength and thewisdom to live in the present and to leave a lasting, positive legacy.
