The combined textile machinery show "ITMA ASIA + CITME" was launched successfully in Shanghai in
2008, and has been followed by two further combined shows in 2010 and 2012. These milestone events
featured the unique strengths of the ITMA brand and China's most important textile event - CITME.
The move to combine the two shows into one mega high-quality event continues to be strongly supported
by CEMATEX, China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA) and the show’s special partner, Japan Textile
Machinery Association (JTMA).
ITMA ASIA + CITME has received unprecedented support from the world’s major textile machinery
associations. These include: American Textile Machinery Association (ATMA), China Textile Machinery
Association (CTMA), CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers, which
comprises ACIMIT (Italy), AMTEX (Spain), BTMA (UK), GTM (Netherlands), Swissmem (Switzerland),
Symatex (Belgium), TMAS (Sweden), UCMTF (France) and VDMA (Germany), as well as Japan Textile
Machinery Association (JTMA), Korea Textile Machinery Association (KOTMA), and Taiwan Association of
Machinery Industry (TAMI).
The fourth ITMA ASIA + CITME event will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 16 to
20 June 2014.
According to Global Industry Analysts, Inc. (GIA), the global market for textile machinery is projected to reach US$20.75 billion by 2015. Asia-Pacific as the largest single market, will be a dominant buyer of textile machinery globally. Spurred by initiatives of local governments to boost textile machinery trade and bolster sales and investments, particularly in China and India, the Asian region is forecast to emerge as one of the fastest growing markets worldwide through 2015.
During China’s Twelfth Five-Year Plan period (2011-2015), the Chinese Government will encourage and develop advanced craftsmanship, technologies and equipment for various applications. Energy-saving, emission-reduction and environment-friendly technologies will be the focus for China’s textile industry in the coming years.
Against this backdrop, China’s textile manufacturing industry will evolve into a technologically advanced and creativeindustry.

Review of ITMA ASIA + CITME 2012
A total of 1,298 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions took part in the exhibition which grossed over 130,000 square metres of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). The top five participating economies in terms of number of participants were China, Germany, Italy, China Taiwan and Japan.
ITMA ASIA + CITME 2012 welcomed visitorship of more than 92,000 from 106 countries and regions during the five-day show. Over 25 percent of the visitors were from overseas. The biggest group of foreign visitors was from India, followed by Japan, Indonesia, Korea and Iran.
