Message From Our Dean

科技管理學院 黃朝熙院長 College of Technology Management

本院在今年 3 月份向學校提出申請成立兩個在職專班：科技管理學院財

務金融碩士在職專班，以及科技管理學院公共政策與管理碩士在職專班，期

望能在明年暑假開始順利招生。

目前學校非常鼓勵在職教育，在職專班的成立可擴大學院以及學校的整

體社會影響力。科管院自 2000 年成立至今，已成立兩個在職專班：清華

EMBA/MBA。其學員來源有兩部分：大約有超過半數是以新竹科技園區為主的

中高階主管、經理人階層，另外包含桃、竹、苗地區中小企業，最遠至台北、

台中。

財務金融碩士在職專班的學員則招收金融服務體系裡中高階主管，對於

本院與學校在金融產業可建立更深更廣的人脈關係。另外，公共政策與管理

在職專班，招收公部門與社會企業的管理人才，即國家公務員、政府部門官

員，以及非政府組織(NGO)學員等。此二在職專班除了提升本院的影響力，本

院師資影響力也可延伸至政府部門與金融體系，此發展對本院在推動 AACSB

具加分效果，符合 AACSB 所強調學院在學術、社會、專業方面的影響力需取

得平衡，並為學生帶來最佳學習成效。

Professor Galit Shmueli is a distinguished professor in business analytics and data mining methodology. Her research is mainly developing and evaluating different methods from statistics, data mining, and visualization for use with contemporary data and especially Big Data. These methods are useful in any field that collects data, from healthcare to education, marketing, operations, manufacturing, and more. Today, data is collected and used by many: from small businesses to corporates and governments.

During our interview, Professor Galit pointed out that the Institute of Service Science (ISS) is very special because we have the unusual combination of expertise in different fields, all focused around service. The reason why Professor Galit chose NTHU was because of the novel combination of expertise and interest and the humanistic and entrepreneurial spirit that is unique to NTHUs ISS. Professor Galit has taught in many parts of the world. She found that students from Taiwan, especially her NTHU students, are extremely personable and have an open learning attitude. She appreciates students’ strong ability to work in groups to achieve excellent team results. She encourages students to complement this skill by also working individually. Professor Galit pointed out that studying in Taiwan is much healthier than in other places because of the wholesome campus environment - there are no hangover students coming to class after late night parties! At ISS, there are multiple activities where students can interact academically and socially with each other and with faculty. Such activities help students learn important lessons about themselves and others, paving the path to their growth. Nowadays, learning English is important in the global market. Professor Galit suggested students to travel and study in different places or to be exchange student in a place where they use English as the main language. She regarded this practice as the best way to improve English ability. Also, she encourages our students to take courses taught in English and to be confident to speak. Finally, Professor Galit emphasized that knowledge is infinite. Learning will become more exciting and we will become more humble. She encouraged students to open their mind up. To take a course outside your field or to engage in activities different from your main focus will make you completely different.

服科所雷松亞 Soumya 老師 榮獲 Decision Sciences Journal (資管領域排名頂尖期刊)2014 年 Outstanding Reviewer Award Prof. Soumya won the 2014 Outstanding Reviewer Award of Decision Sciences Journal.

理碩士在職專班開班計畫書」，已送交教育部審查。

【AACSB】小常識 AACSB 認證過程

清華大學科技管理學院於 2000 年成立，相對起步較晚，開始申請認證

的時間也較慢，自2010年底開始籌備，本院於2015年進入了最後關鍵階段。

申請認證期間歷經申請 AACSB 會員資格、積極參與認證會議、認證顧問

（Mentor）來訪…等。

2015 年 10 月 26 至 28 日 AACSB 評鑑小組（Peer Review Team）即將造

訪本院進行實地訪視。評鑑小組主席是美國 Robert Morris 大學商學院院長

Dr. John Beehler，其他二位成員皆為知名大學商管學院院長。接下來這個

學期是關鍵時刻，本院國際事務辦公室將舉辦一系列 AACSB 相關活動，希望

大家踴躍參加，全院動員起來為 10 月的訪視做好準備。本院規劃邀請認證

小組主席 Dean Beehler 於下學期初至本院進行初訪，深入瞭解本院後能夠

更進一步協助我們完成認證程序。

AACSB 認證為幫助商管學院永續自我改善的機制，自首次通過認證後每

五年將再次進行持續改善審核，檢視學校是否依舊符合其嚴格認證標準。

104年 2月 7日經濟系於旺宏館清沙龍舉辦了「閱讀經濟講座活動」，邀請高中生到清

大交流讀書心得，並安排經濟系二位傑出系友的閱讀分享與「經濟學對工作上的幫助」

的座談，藉此活動增加大家對經濟學知識領域的了解與認識，並持續推廣「閱讀經濟」。

林維銘系友的簡歷(資料來源是林系友之前提供)：

1998年清大經濟系畢業，當兵兩年後，到台北的美商美林證券上班，擔任業務助理。2002年到香港的

美林私人銀行部門擔任財務顧問，之後晉升為首席副總裁，協助客戶做資產規劃和投資理財。2013 年

美林私人銀行部門被瑞士寶盛銀行併購後，仍繼續從事相同的工作內容，職稱為執行董事。在香港期間，

曾攻讀英國伯明翰大學 EMBA的碩士學位。2015工作之外，最近剛出版一本經濟學小說，希望用奇幻

冒險的故事來講解經濟學和金融風暴，讓讀者在樂趣中學習經濟學。
