The project team is now actively seeking partners and sponsors to accelerate and widen the impact of BFFC from awareness to advocacy.

BFFC enables an online assessment of a city’s urban transport environment. It highlights successes and pitfalls so that the user can explore methods to create a more sustainable urban transport system with the bicycle at its core.
The BFFC system is heuristically built to identify the most critical issues impacting biking and will suggest the most appropriate best global practices that could be implemented to help improve a city’s urban transport issues.
BFFC is a simple to use website that may be used by urban planners, local policy makers and initiative leaders to better understand the connection between their city’s transport characteristics and effective biking practices.
BFFC is the result of a project between Good to China and graduate students from the China European International Business School: the project aims were to determine the integration of cycling in urban transportation systems.
The project behind BFFC points to the necessity of government sponsored initiatives to encourage cycling and increase its convenience, using progressive examples as seen in the US and UK where incentive programs make cycling the easy option. Currently there are still many opportunities for policy making and urban planning to fully embrace cycling.

EATING TO BE ECO
There are hundreds of eco-actions you can take on any given day to help you live a green and earth-friendly lifestyle. One of the more powerful steps you can take starts with what you eat, and opting for a plant-based whole foods diet. Not only does it do wonders for your health, but opting for a vegetarian diet is one of the most eco-friendly moves you can be making….ever. Here are just a few facts and tips to help you make the move to do your body and our planet good.
Eating a plant-based diet saves more water than you can imagine. Sure, brushing your teeth without the faucet running and taking quick showers helps to save water.
But check this out.
According to the Water Education Foundation, it takes 9,300 liters of water to produce one pound of beef in California. This is about the same amount of water you would use if you took a seven-minute shower every day for six entire months. In contrast, only 190 liters of water are needed to produce one kilo of wheat.
By cutting out beef, you can be making the single biggest impact to save one of earth’s most precious resources needed for life.
Ditch the hamburgers and try veggie burg-ers instead, made with a variety of ingredients such as quinoa, beans, soy, lentils or seitan.

Cutting down on meat doesn’t have to happen overnight. You can start by taking a small step every week. Go meatless once a week as a great way to practice eating eco-friendly. It’s a small change, you’ll feel great and the earth will be better for it. You will find it isn’t difficult at all, and it truly is one of the most impactful ways to living green.

Juice cleansing, like any fad diet that demands extreme changes to one’s diet, can be detrimental to one’s health. For people who eat lots of animal products and not enough plant-based foods, juicing is an excellent way to add a wide variety of fresh produce of all colors into their diet. In addition, it is an effective way to supplement nutrients like minerals, vitamins, chlorophylls and antioxidants typically missing in our daily diet and food supply.
But on the other hand, if people rely solely on raw juices as their main source for energy and nutrients, juicing can become dangerous, especially for those who are diabetics, undergoing chemotherapy, and/or challenged with nutritional deficiencies. The average juice drink that can be found on any store or supermarket has between 60 – 100 grams of sugar; an amount that equals the sugar found in 2-3 cans of Coke. It takes about 4 medium oranges to make one 8-ounce glass of orange juice, and while it is rare for someone to eat 4 oranges in a sitting, no one thinks twice about throwing back that same amount of sugar (or more) in the form of juice. It adds up to a lot of sugar.
Juicing also skips the first step in the digestion process: the mechanical breakdown of food via chewing as well as the chemical breakdown via saliva. When drinking juice, the liquid spends very
WHY NOT JUICE FASTING? Raw (cold pressed) juice cleansing has become such a craze that it has attracted a large customer base around the world, including China. Not only did cold pressed juice companies create fancy products and 3-day to 7-day juice fasting plans, they make claims that fasting will lead to weight loss and body detoxification. As result, people are paying big amounts of money to put themselves on regular juice-only diets, hoping to lose a few pounds or to improve their health through this quick-fix craze.

Even though raw juices add a tremendous amount of valuable micronutrients and phytonutrients to one’s diet, it still misses the important macronutrients like protein, fat and valuable dietary fibers. A juice-only diet can result in serious health issues.
And like most fad diets, juice fasting is not an effective way to keep any weight loss off. At first, some people do lose weight with juice fasting because of the restricted calories consumed. Long term, however, juicing can permanently lower the body’s metabolism as the body incorrectly assumes it’s starving and the person will likely gain the weight back.
As for juicing’s detoxification claim, people are attracted to it as they see it as a quick fix to their inappropriate lifestyle and/or environment pollution. The truth is, our body does an excellent job of detoxifying on its own: our liver, kidneys, and intestines filter the unwanted items we ingest and expel them through our urine, bowel movements, breath, and sweat. We don’t need to deprive ourselves with strict juice-only diets
to detox, not to mention fasting adds additional stress to our bodies, and stress is yet in another form of toxin that our bodies have to process.
Moderation is the key to any diet. The best way to maintain a healthy weight is to make healthy lifestyle changes that you will be able to maintain throughout your life. If weight loss is needed to reach optimal weight, then replacing one meal with a vegetable-based juice can be beneficial, as long as the other “chewed” meals are well balanced.
Vegetable and fruit based juices can also be drank as supplement to have a healthy diet and to give our bodies all the nutrients they needs and cannot get from our daily meals. A very good example is FSJuice. This can be a great solution for people willing to have an easy healthier lifestyle in China

Whenever anything is made, there’s bound to be left overs. Unless you’re a super-humanly efficient designer (in which case: can we have your number?). If you’re working with fabrics you’ll have trimmings. If you’re working with yarn, you’ll have loose strings. If you’re working with mass production, you’ll have defectives. If you’re working with cats... why?
What can we do with left over material? Well, ‘Upcycling’ is the concept of taking these kinds of overstocked, misprinted, or otherwise unwanted/unneeded materials and giving them new life as a new item! All it needs is a creative mind to see the potential, and then realize the possibilities.
Take for instance Jonas! He uses old discarded Chinese cookie tins and water flasks to create one-of-a-kind clocks and lights, proudly displaying the vintage designs of long ago! With some technical magic he’s even made his lamps touch sensitive! He sells these designs under the brand name of Jonas’ Design, because his name is Jonas and they’re his... well, you get it.
The left over yarn after an intense knitting or crocheting session might be too small for large projects, but a butterfly decoration, a crocheted flower or a stunning pattern? Perfect! Gloria, of Ruyi Crochet, looks at what she’s got to work with and uses traditional crochet techniques to create everything from necklaces to covers for your electronics!
Chinese design brand Yoxi creates with the most unlikely of materials: rejected watch parts! The inner workings of a watch are intricate and fragile, so when a factory batch of watch parts is defective and unusable, Yoxi takes them and fashions them into stunning jewelry. The parts don’t need to tick to get their chance to shine!
With Upcycling the possibilities are only as limited as one’s imagination; anyone with a touch of creativity can participate and, above all else, have fun doing it! We can all turn waste to treasure, with impact, heart and a story to tell.

都可以将废弃物变为宝藏，去影响，去感受，去讲述那一个个故事。

Daily Life Toxins
Let’s review the common sources of environmental toxins in the home:
• Furniture, kitchen ware, cleansers, disinfectant, insecticide often generate harmful substance. For example, air fresheners often contain phenol, a chemical compound can cause breathing problems, headache and eye irritation.
• Accessories, carpet, sofa, bedding articles, clothes, plush toy, flowers, pets can all be sources of viruses and parasites.
• Dust collectors, air conditioner filter, and dry-cleaned clothes often have harmful substance residue. Frequent contact with solvent residue in dry-cleaned clothes--such as zellon--can cause dizziness, mental disorders, and even harm the liver.
Toxins are frequently found in cleaning, skincare and cosmetic products, like diethanolamine (DEA) in shower gel and moisturizing lotion, fluoride in toothpaste, toluol in perfume. Most powdery cosmetics like eye shadow and make-up foundation contain talcum powder--a carcinogen. A report published in American Journal of Epidemiology pointed out that females who use talcum powder regularly have a 60% higher chance to get oophoroma--a kind of cancer.
WHAT CAN YOU DO? Throw out air fresheners and replace with mixed soda water, white vinegar and clean water
Beautify your home with flowers and grasses that can absorb toxins, like cactus or aloe, both easily available in Shanghai at many local flower shops
Insist on carpets made of pure natural materials like wool, cotton and jute, or go completely wooden floor
Spray soda water on a wet cloth to clean the kitchen counters and sink, mix vinegar and warm water to clean the glasses instead of commercial soap
Purchase pure natural or organic skincare or cosmetic products
Use pure cotton bedding in your bedroom

致呼吸困难和头疼，还可能让人眼睛感到不舒服。
· 各种装饰品、地毯、沙发、被褥、衣物、毛绒玩具中，以
及 饲养的花鸟鱼禽和猫狗宠物上会寄生各种细菌和
寄生虫。
· 吸尘器、空调滤网、干洗的衣服也含有有毒物质。例如，
长期接触干洗衣物上四氯乙烯之类的溶剂残留会令人头昏
眼花、精神混乱，甚至还会伤害肝脏。
· 各类个人洗护、护肤、化妆用品也是常见的毒素温床，
如沐浴露、润肤乳中含的二乙醇胺(DEA)、牙膏中的氟
化物、染发剂中的对苯二胺、香水中的甲苯……。大部
分粉状化妆品，如眼影、粉饼、粉底等都含有致癌物质
滑石粉，一份发表在《美国流行病学杂志》上的报告表
明，使用滑石粉的妇女患上卵巢癌的风险会增加60%。
