EDISON

Thomas Edison was one of the most influential inventors in America. There is a lot of controversy around his success but one thing that cannot be denied is that he was an incredibly hard worker. His work process was unorganized and frantic, his ideas sometimes illogical, but he fervently searched for answers. Edison was a firm believer in trial and error and never believed in something until he was able to test it out. In his lifetime, he successfully acquired 2, 332 patents for his inventions. When referred to as a genius, Edison replied, “Genius is hard work, stick-to-it-iveness, and common sense.” Thomas Edison knew having a good idea was not enough and showed the world that anyone can accomplish their dreams through hard work. The amount of things he improved or contributed to in our modern society is astounding.
