• Early Childhood Education learners– Pre-K 2nd grade
• Special Education students– All ages
• An engaging SMARTboard lesson to help children identify how they are feeling.
• Great for subjects such as:– Health education– Physical education– ESL learners
GROUP WORK/SHARE EXAMPLE
I would have one student come up and roll the dice and then split the class up into groups and have them share their “embarrassing” stories with each other.
I would then ask if any student wanted to share their story with the whole class.
HOW I WOULD UTILIZE IN MY CLASSROOM• Go through the presentation and let
each student volunteer to come up and preform the activity in front of their class
• Make sure every student has an understanding and can accurately identify their feelings and what they mean.
• Not all students feel comfortable publicly sharing so…
– Split them up into pairs or small groups and allow them to also discuss and share that way every student gets an opportunity to share.
UNIVERSAL DESIGN• Pairs or working in small groups
accommodates students who are uncomfortable sharing with the whole class
• This SMARTlesson provides interactive opportunities that are flexible and can be easily interpreted.
• Targets students’ metacognitive abilities
