FUSD-Washington Hospital Partner to Provide Athletic Trainers
FUSD and Washington Hospital have teamed up to ensure all of the district's high school student-athletes will have access to certified athletic

FUSD Schools Rally in Support of Wildfire Victims
Several FUSD school rallied to assist those affected by wildfires in Napa and Sonoma Counties including Chadbourne Elementary, Glenmoor Elementary, Weibel Elementary and American High School. Thank you to everyone who

FUSD/Gomes Elementary Featured in Alameda County TK Video
The Alameda County Office of Education visited Gomes Elementary August 28th as part of a video feature on Transitional Kindergarten programs in the

Vallejo Mill’s Erik Mortensen Named KRON 4’s ‘Teacher of the Week’
Vallejo Mill Elementary 5th-grade Teacher Erik Mortensen got a surprise

US Physics Team Featuring MSJHS Student Finish 8th in World
Last summer, the 2017 U.S. Physics Team - featuring Mission San Jose HS's Michelle Song - finished 8th at the International Physics Olympiad in

District Notes: Parent Satisfaction Survey – Parents & Guardians asked to provide their feedback on FUSD
programs and services in the District’s annual Parent Satisfaction Survey - english | español | 中文
Report Card Feedback - FUSD is in the process of developing new elementary report cards designed
to provide families with detailed information about a student's progress toward mastering individual standards. We are asking parents and guardians to complete a quick online survey to share feedback. We are also holding an in-person focus group for families and community members on Tuesday, February 13th from 6-7 p.m. at the district office. If interested, please RSVP on the link at the end of the survey.
Measure I Citizens’ Oversight Committee Vacancy – The Measure I Citizens’ Oversight
Committee was formed in January 2017 with the purpose of providing independent oversight to ensure that the revenue received by the District is spent in accordance with the commitment made to the voters of Fremont. Currently there is one vacant position for the senior member category (above 65 years). Applications and instructions are available on Fremont Unified School District’s website. Measure I is an annual tax of $73 per parcel that will generate approximately $4.3 million annually for nine years. These funds support core programs in math, science and reading, retain highly qualified teachers, keep school libraries open, and protect student safety and security, to name a few.
Measure I Parcel Tax Senior Exemption – Applications are now available for seniors living
within FUSD boundaries to file for an exemption from the Measure I Parcel Tax. This is for FIRST-TIME applicants only. If you applied in 2016 0r 2017 you are automatically exempt for the duration of the Measure.
FUSD Hiring Bus Drivers – Training is provided for qualified applicants. Apply online, or call 510-
657-1450 x13102 for more information.
Bus Passes For Sale – School bus passes are available for purchase online at
www.myschoolbucks.com or in person at the Transportation Department office, located at 43770 S. Grimmer Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538. Bus pass office hours are Monday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. For additional information, call (510) 657-1450.
Curb-to-Curb Bus Rider Attendance – As a reminder, parents of special education students who
receive curb-to-curb school bus transportation services should notify Transportation Department Dispatch if their students will not ride the bus on any given day or if they wish to cancel service. Dispatch may be reached at (510) 657-1450 ext. 13147.
FUSD Child Find – Do you know a child with special needs? FUSD actively seeks out and accepts
referrals to assess children who may have a disability. Learn more on the District website. Mission Valley
