We have celebrated with joy the Christmas season. The focus of this short ordinary
time is once again about our relationship with God. God is never far from us and
never abandon us. As the story of the wedding in Cana (John 2:1-11) shows, God
performs miracles when we are least expected. Our Lord Jesus takes water, the drink
of everyday life and the means of ritual purification, and turns it into wine, the
drink of joyous celebration.
There are miracles happening every day all around us and we need to take a mo-
ment and see that our God is very interested in our life. God loves and cares about
us; He is the one who knows what are best for us in our good and bad times.

Hemos celebrado con alegría la temporada de Navidad. El enfoque de este corto período de
tiempo ordinario es una vez más acerca de nuestra relación con Dios. Dios nunca está lejos
de nosotros y nunca nos abandona. Como nos lo muestra en la historia de las bodas de Caná
(Juan 2: 1-11), Dios hace milagros cuando menos lo esperamos. Nuestro Señor Jesús toma
el agua, la bebida de la vida cotidiana y de los medios de purificación ritual, y lo convierte en
el vino, la bebida de celebración gozosa. Hay milagros que suceden todos los días a nuestro
alrededor y tenemos que tomar un momento y ver que nuestro Dios está muy interesado en
nuestra vida. Dios nos ama y se preocupa por nosotros; Él es el único que sabe lo que es
mejor para nosotros en nuestros tiempos buenos y malos.

for our school library. It is a fun-filled, family

Ruth Patton is a Science Teacher and Girls’ Basketball
Coach at St. Thomas More
School. Ms. Patton has a Bache-
lor of Arts Degree from the Uni-
versity of St. Thomas in Educa-
tion with a concentration in Math
and Science. She is the youngest
of 7 children. Her interests and
hobbies are basketball, classical
music, movies, and books. Ms. Patton says “I love
teaching at STM because I love being able to express
my faith in the classroom and because of the amazing
coworkers who are a constant support both personally
and professionally.”
