«Tu destino no es la muerte sino la desaparición del "yo soy"»

Introducción:

He llamado a esta obra "El ultimátum de Nisargadatta" porque esa fue la sensación que tuve mientras preparaba este texto. Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj nos está dando un ultimátum: «Mira, te estoy entregando algo directamente, o lo tomas o sigues sufriendo y llevas una vida miserable comoindividuo».

Estas breves citas tienen el poder de llevarte directamente al Parabrahman o Absoluto. Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj mismo ha dicho: «Toma una frase de lo que se ha dicho aquí y quédate con ella. Es suficiente; te llevará a tu fuente».

Cada sentencia puede ser una pregunta o una afirmación; además, si se observa de cerca y se reflexiona sobre ella, tiene la capacidad de catapultarte inmediatamente al Parabrahman o al Absoluto, que es lo que realmente eres.

Estas breves citas han sido recopiladas de los siete famosos libros de diálogos de Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, que comienzan con "YO SOY ESO". One: I Am That Uno: Yo Soy Eso

1. Are you a mere body or something else? Or, maybe nothing at all? 1.¿Eres un simple cuerpo o algo más? ¿O quizás nada en absoluto?

2. Before all beginnings, after all endings – I am. 2. Antes de todos los comienzos, después de todos los finales —yo soy.

3. What you are, you already are. 3. Lo que eres, ya lo eres.

Two: Seeds of Consciousness Dos: Semillas de consciencia

1. What you don’t know, that is prior-most. 1. Lo que no conoces, eso es lo más prioritario. ((en el doble sentido de "anterior" y "principal"))

2. Before you acquired this knowledge ‘I am', that is the real state. 2. Antes de que adquirieras el actual conocimiento de que "yo soy", eso es el estado real.

3. Come to the conclusion that you are not the consciousness. 3. Llega a la conclusión de que no eres la consciencia.

Three: Prior to Consciousness Tres: Antes de la consciencia

1. Prior to this identification with the body, you must recede into that. 1. Antes de esta identificación con el cuerpo —debes retroceder hasta ahí.

2. Witnessing of the beingness happens to the eternal principle, the Absolute. 2. El presenciar la eseidad/existencia le sucede al principio eterno, el Absoluto.

3. I, the Absolute never had any experience that I was alive. 3. Yo, lo Absoluto, jamás he tenido la experiencia de estar vivo.

4. I, the Absolute have no needs, I ever prevail. 4. Yo, lo Absoluto, no tengo necesidades, siempre prevalezco.

5. The non-attention Parabrahman state has no attention ‘I am’. 5. El estado de Parabrahman de no atención no atiende al "yo soy".

6. Before the beingness was there, look at that, be in that state. 6. Antes de que la eseidad/existencia apareciera, mira eso que había y quédate en ese estado.

7. Timeless, spaceless existence doesn’t know it is. That is reality. That is truth. 7. El ser que está libre de tiempo y espacio no sabe que él es. Tal ser es la realidad y es la verdad.

5. The essence and sum total of this whole talk is called Sat-guru Parabrahman, that state in which there are no requirements.5. 22. The meaning of the mantra I have given you is that you are the manifest dynamic principle, not the body. When you abide in that you become that. 22. Five: The Experience of Nothingness Cinco: La Experiencia de la Nada

1. The presence (‘I am’) itself is not there in the Absolute. 1. La presencia ("yo soy") en sí misma no está ahí en el Absoluto.

2. This knowledge ‘I am’, this consciousness, has come of a prior state, where there was no consciousness. 2. Este conocimiento "yo soy", esta consciencia, ha venido de un estado anterior, en el que no había consciencia.

3. Only the ‘non-I amness’ can meet the nothingness. 3. Sólo la "no yo-soydad" puede encontrarse con la nada.

4. In the Absolute there is no knowingness. 4. En el Absoluto no hay conocimiento.

5. At the highest level, in reality, nothing is. At the worldly level (in unreality), everything is. 5. En el nivel más alto, el de la realidad, no hay nada. En el nivel mundano (el de lo irreal), hay de todo.

6. In the process of trying to understand, you get purified and the process subsides. 6. En el proceso de tratar de comprender, te purificas y el proceso se calma.

26. Before you knew yourself, that was your true state. 26. Antes de que te conocieras a ti mismo, ese era tu verdadero estado.

27. Eliminate everything. In that state you will have no color, no design, no form, no name. 27. Descártalo todo. En ese estado no tendrás color, diseño, forma, ni nombre.

28. In the unmanifest Absolute there is no consciousness of existence at all. 28. En el Absoluto no-manifiesto no hay consciencia de ninguna existencia en absoluto.

29. The guru says: ‘You are Parabrahman and nothing else’. Accept that with great conviction and all that appears will seem to be palpably false. 29. El gurú dice: "Eres Parabrahman y nada más". Acepta eso con gran convicción y todo lo que aparece te parecerá palpablemente falso.

Six: The Nectar of Immortality Seis: El néctar de la inmortalidad

1. Whatever you think, is not you, you cannot think about yourself. Perceive this clearly and be thought-free. 1. Cualquier cosa que pienses, no eres tú; no puedes pensar en ti mismo (no puedes conceptualizarte). Percibe esto claramente y sé libre de pensamientos.

2. To realize and abide in that state prior to conception is the highest. 2. Discernir y permanecer en ese estado anterior a la concepción es lo más elevado.

3. Before conception is you most natural and perfect state, it always prevails, even after the beingness goes. 3. Anterior a la concepción se encuentra tu estado más natural y perfecto, el cual siempre prevalece, incluso después de que termina la existencia/eseidad.

4. Before my birth, at my conception, who pulled me into the womb and in what form? That was possible only if I had a form prior to conception. 4. Antes de mi nacimiento, en mi concepción, ¿quién me llevó al útero y con qué forma? Eso sólo sería posible si tuviera una forma antes de la concepción.

5. There was no need for knowledge when this beingness was not. 5. No había necesidad de conocimiento cuando esta existencia/eseidad no estaba presente.

6. Once the seed (‘I amness’) is gone you are in your eternal state. 6. Una vez que la semilla ("yo-soydad") desaparece, estás en tu estado eterno.

7. Right now I am interested only in the state eight days prior to conception, the Parabrahman state. 7. En este preciso momento sólo estoy interesado en el estado que había ocho días antes de la concepción, el estado de Parabrahman.

8. Understand the beingness and its play, transcend it and abide in the state prior to conception. 8. Comprende la existencia/eseidad y su juego, trasciéndela y permanece en el estado previo a la concepción.

9. If you have understood what ‘you’ really are, is there any necessity for spiritual pursuits? 9. Si has entendido lo que "tú" realmente eres, ¿hay alguna necesidad de actividades o búsquedas espirituales?

10. The waking state, sleep, beingness, all this experience combined, is the ignorance only. That ignorance termed as ‘birth’ means these three. 10. 11. Prior to the appearance of this beingness, you were purely Parabrahman, the Absolute. 11. Antes de la aparición de esta existencia/eseidad, eras puramente Parabrahman, el Absoluto.

12. Witnessing happens to the Absolute, which is the unborn eternal principle called the Parabrahman. 12. El presenciar le sucede al Absoluto, que es el principio eterno no-nacido llamado Parabrahman.

13. ‘You’ the Absolute are not the body, and not even the indwelling beingness. 13. "Tú", el Absoluto, no eres el cuerpo, y ni siquiera el ser interior.

21. Not identifying with the body-mind sense, you will first transcend into the beingness and later you will transcend the beingness as well. 21. 43. No path, no instruction, no method, no technique. You are full, you are all One. You feel you aretwo (dvaita), so OK, understand you are not two, advaita. 43. Sin camino, sin instrucción, sin método, sin técnica. Eres pleno, eres completamente Uno. Sientes que eres dos (dvaita), así que está bien, pero entiende que eres no-dos, advaita.

44. Constantly return to that point from where you seem to have come, and see if you have really come, whether you are really born. 44. Regresa constantemente a ese punto desde donde pareces haber venido, y mira si realmente has venido, si realmente has nacido.

45. Understand the guest-like temporary nature of consciousness and feel that you have nothing to do with it. 45. Comprende la naturaleza temporal —y similar a un invitado pasajero— de la consciencia y siente que no tienes nada que ver con ella.

50. Once you understand that the source and the end are the same point, you are free of it and you realize, I, the Absolute, am not this ‘I amness’. 50.
