ВВЕДЕНИЕ Учебное пособие Elementary English предназначено

для обучающихся первого курса с практически нулевым

или небольшим объемом знаний английского языка (от

уровня А1 по Европейской системе уровней владения

иностранным языком). В нем систематизируются знания

обучающихся в пределах элементарного уровня владения

языком (уровень А2 согласно Европейской системе

уровней владения иностранным языком). Этот уровень

предполагает наличие базовых знаний грамматики и

лексики, достаточных для общения в знакомых ситуациях,

понимания несложных текстов общекультурной

направленности. Цель учебного пособия – упорядочить

знания обучающихся, полученные ими в школе и вывести

на уровень ниже среднего (Pre-Intermediate, или B1,

согласно Европейской системе уровней владения

иностранным языком). Для достижения этой цели учебное

пособие структурировано следующим образом: каждая

глава разделена на две части, в которых дан лексический и

грамматический материал по определенной тематике.

Большое внимание уделено упражнениям на отработку и

закрепление лексико-грамматического материала и

упражнениям на перевод, которых нет в аутентичных

учебниках. В конце каждой части главы предлагаются

творческие задания для написания небольших сочинений

или составления рассказов на определенную тему.

Рекомендуется выполнять задания в том порядке, в

котором они расположены в учебном пособии. Пособие

также может быть использовано обучающимися для

самостоятельной работы.

II. Местоимения.

III. Артикли.

В английском языке существуют неопределенный

артикль a (an), определенный артикль the и так

называемый нулевой артикль (его отсутствие).

Неопределенный артикль a (an) употребляется, когда мы

говорим о профессии в единственном числе. Артикль a

используется перед существительными, начинающимися с

согласных букв, а артикль an стоит перед

существительными, начинающимися с гласных букв. Во

множественном числе перед профессией артикль не

ставится.

From Old English

Many basic English words come from Old English, e.g.

England, house, woman, bird, man, child, water. They

sometimes have irregular pronunciation.

From Latin

Other English words come from Latin, e.g. family, wine,

From French

I. Притяжательный падеж существительных.

Чтобы сказать о том, что кому-то что-то принадлежит,

используется так называемый притяжательный падеж

существительных. Он образуется с помощью прибавления

к существительному апострофа (’) и s в единственном

числе и только апострофа во множественном числе. Если

множественное число существительного образуется не по

основному правилу, то также ставится апостроф и s. Не

путайте это окончание с сокращенной формой глаголов is

и has!

II. Неопределенные местоимения some и any.

Неопределенное местоимение some переводится как

«какое-то количество», «несколько», «немного», а во

многих случаях и вовсе не переводится на русский язык.

Оно обязательно ставится в утвердительных

предложениях, когда мы не заинтересованы в точном

количестве предметов.

Пример:

There are some chairs in the sitting room. – В гостиной

Если предложение вопросительное или отрицательное,

то some меняется на any, например:

I. Настоящее простое время (the Present Simple tense).

В английском языке, в отличие от русского, в

действительном залоге есть двенадцать времен. Делятся

они на три группы – настоящие, прошедшие и будущие

времена. В каждой группе есть простое, длительное,

совершенное и совершенно-длительное время.

Настоящее простое время используется для того, чтобы

описать повседневные дела, привычки, ежедневную жизнь.

С этим временем употребляются следующие наречия

частотности: always – всегда, usually – обычно, often –

часто, sometimes – иногда, seldom – редко, never –

никогда.

Посмотрите на таблицу. В ней указано, как образуется

это время в утвердительных, отрицательных и

вопросительных предложения.

Употребление предлогов времени в английском языке

отличается от употребления предлогов в русском языке.

Поэтому предлоги времени необходимо просто заучивать.

III. Часы и время.

1) Если часы показывают ровное количество часов (семь,

восемь и т.д.), употребляется слово o’clock. Например: It’s

2) Если минутная стрелка находится на цифре шесть, то

есть, показывает полчаса, употребляется выражение half

past (половина после), например: It’s half past eight. –

Половина девятого (дословно: половина после восьми). It’s

half past two. – Половина третьего.

3) Если минутная стрелка находится в правой половине

часов, употребляется слово past (после), например: It’s ten

past eleven. – Десять минут двенадцатого (дословно: десять

минут после одиннадцати). It’s twenty past three. –

Двадцать минут четвертого.

4) Если минутная стрелка находится в левой половина

часов, употребляется слова to (до), например: It’s five to

ten. – Без пяти десять (дословно: пять минут до десяти). It’s

5) Часто вместо выражения «пятнадцать минут» говорят

«четверть» - a quarter, например: It’s a quarter past five. –

Четверть шестого. It’s a quarter to seven. – Без четверти

IV. Объектные местоимения.

После глаголов в английском языке ставится объектная

форма местоимений – me, you, us, them, him, her, it. Не

путайте эти формы с притяжательной формой

местоимений, которая используется перед

существительными. Изучите таблицу.

Запомните, что со словом like (нравиться) используется

The French day

Most (большинство) people start work at nine in the

morning and finish work at five in the evening. But teachers

How stressed

Professor Parker, a stress expert from the University of

London, looks at Louisa’s typical day and tries to help.

Louisa works as a guide at the National Gallery in London

and lives with her son George, aged 9.

6.30 I get up and I make George’s sandwiches. Then I do

some housework. Then I wake up George and I make his

breakfast. I’m always in a hurry and I don’t have time for

breakfast at home.

Hereford

Hereford is a small market town in the west of England. The

High Street is very short with a big square at the end of it

called High Town. There are a lot of attractive shops in High

Town and there are no cars. You can visit the beautiful Old

House which is a museum in the middle of High Town.

Eating habits (привычки) are very informal. You sit at a

table or in a circle (круг) on the floor around the food. All the

food is put out on different plates at the start of the meal. You

take what you want. Most people eat with a spoon and a fork.

You can use your fingers to make rice balls which you dip

(макать) in various sauces. Chopsticks (палочки) are only

common with the Chinese population in Thailand. There isn’t

usually any salt because they use fish sauce.

Thais can eat and drink anything. There are no social taboos.

Drinking alcohol is a normal social activity for men. Smoking

Thais eat early in the evening. They usually have their

evening meal at about six o’clock. Most traditional Thai

Dear Robert,

This is our third week here in Europe and we’re having a

great time. The people are very friendly and the weather is

good – even in Britain it was sunny and warm!

We flew to London from Montreal and we spent four days

visiting the city. There’s so much to see and do! Unfortunately

we didn’t see the Queen! Mike was very disappointed!

Then we took the Eurostar to Paris and we stayed with my

cousin, Angie. We did some sightseeing and we visited the

Louvre and the Eiffel Tower, of course. We had some

wonderful food in small restaurants in the Latin Quarter. I lost

my passport in the Metro so we went to the Canadian Embassy

to get another.

After Paris we flew to Barcelona where it was very hot. We

made friends with some local people in a bar and they showed

us the city. We took a bus to a small town on the coast and we

found a hotel with a beautiful view of the sea. We relaxed on

the beach for two days before morning on to Italy where we are

now. We arrived here in Florence early this morning and we’re

having a big breakfast before we go sightseeing.

After Florence, we are going to Rome, Athens and then

Istanbul. I’ll write again in two weeks’ time. Give my love to

Anne and the children.
