The Restoration

2  Peter  3:3­4  “Knowing  this  first,  that  there  shall  come  in  the  last  daysscoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise ofhis coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they werefrom the beginning of the creation.”

Is this not the world’s condition today? 

2 Peter 3:5­6 “For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of Godthe heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in thewater: Whereby  the world  that  then was,  being overflowed with water,perished:” 

So the antediluvian world was destroyed by flood. 

2 Peter 3:7 “But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same wordare  kept  in  store,  reserved  unto  fire  against  the  day  of  judgment  andperdition of ungodly men.” 

This World Reserved for Fire.

2 Peter 3:10­12 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in thewhich the heavens (Greek, ουkανός, oo-ran-os', the sky, the air; only heaven byimplication) shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements (Gr. στοιχείον stoy­khi'­on, only appears four times in Scripture, referring here to the elementaryprinciples of this world) shall melt with fervent heat, the earth (Gr. γή  ghay, theEarth’s dirt, the soil, the ground, but not necessarily the planet) also and the worksthat  are  therein  shall  be burned up.  Seeing  then  that  all  these  things  shall  bedissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation andgodliness,  Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein theheavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with ferventheat?” 

So just as God destroyed the first “world by water,”it appears that “this present world,”

i.e., the surface of the Earth will be destroyed “by fire,”but planet itself may remain.

Acts 3:21 “Jesus, whom the heaven must receive until the times ofrestoration of all things, whereof God spake by the mouth of Hisholy prophets that have been from of old.” 

God is the Creator of all things, Satan the destroyer.It appears that God wills to

restore His creation to what it wasbefore sin caused the fall. 

Revelation 21:1­21 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the firstheaven  (Gr., oranous, sky, only heaven by implication) and the first earth (Gr.,ge the soil. It is unlikely that God intends to destroy His creation, only the sinwithin  it) were passed away; and  there was no more sea (of  the variousnations). And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down fromGod out of heaven, prepared as a bride (the bride herself, not the dwellingplace for the bride) adorned for her husband.  And I heard a great voice outof heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle (dwelling place) of God is with men,

and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himselfshall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears fromtheir eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.”

Revelation  8:1  “And when  he  opened  the  seventh  seal,  there  followed  asilence in heaven about the space of half an hour.”

Why is the final Seal a half­hour and how long isthis half­hour in day­years? 

Revelation 21:1­21 continued . . . “ And he said unto me, Write: for these wordsare true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega,the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountainof the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and Iwill be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, andthe abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and . . .

sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake whichburneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

“And there came unto me one of the seven angels (this is not Jesus, butindeed an angel) which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, andtalked with me, saying, Come hither,  I will  shew thee  the bride (Not  thedwelling place of the bride, but the bride herself), the Lamb's wife. And hecarried me away in the spirit to a great and high  (figurative) mountain, andshewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem (so the New Jerusalem is not aplace, but  the sum  total of God’elect, Old Testament and New. We’ve beenlooking at the holy city from a humanistic standpoint. Sovereign God is notmaking a city for man to dwell in, but a city for Himself to dwell in out of all thepeople His Son redeemed), descending out of heaven from God, Having theglory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like ajasper stone, clear as crystal (the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ); 

And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gatestwelve  angels,  and  names written  thereon, which  are  the  names  of  thetwelve tribes of the children of Israel (So to enter this city through one of

these gates you need to be either a physical or spiritual descendant of Israel):On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates;and on the west three gates. And the wall of the city had twelve foundations,and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb (all of the Gentilebelievers who are in Israel by adoption, Gal 4:5). 

And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and thegates thereof, and the wall thereof. And the city lieth foursquare, and thelength is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed (a spiritual measure,  first  appears  in  Ezekiel  and  always  used  figuratively),twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it areequal. And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and  forty and  fourcubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel (figurativenumber, actually the total of the redeemed, both Old Testament and New). Andthe building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, likeunto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnishedwith all manner of precious stones. The  first  foundation was  jasper;  thesecond, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald . . .

The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth,beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth;the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; everyseveral gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as itwere transparent glass.” (The beauty of the Lord Jesus in which God’s servantsare clothed).”

The Two Books

Revelation 20:11 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it,from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there wasfound no place for them. And I saw the dead (spiritually dead, those whobelong to the Lord are “alive in Christ”), small and great, stand beforeGod; and the books (of the deeds) were opened: and another book wasopened, which is the book of life: and the (spiritually) dead were judgedout of those things which were written in the books, according to theirworks.  And the sea (Rev 17:15, all the lost people who have ever lived)gave up  the  (spiritually)  dead which were  in  it;  and death and helldelivered up the (spiritually) dead which were in them: and they werejudged every man according to their works (“There is therefore now nocondemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus” so we are not included inthat group). And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This isthe second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book oflife was cast into the lake of fire.” 

His Mansions

John 14:2­3 “In my Father's house ARE many mansions (The mansions arealready there!!!  The Lord isn’t up in heaven building castles for us): if it werenot so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you (So where didJesus have to go to prepare a place for us? To the Cross, because if Jesus hadnot gone to the cross we could never spend eternity with holy God). And if I go(to the Cross) and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive youunto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

So where are God’s heavenly mansions?

Do you believe the Lord made this vast Universewith billions of stars and galaxies

 to no purpose?

“Even so, come, Lord Jesus””
