Society’s Goals: The Pharmaceutical Society (PSK) of Korea aims to improve pharmaceuticals and public health, strengthen cooperation among academia, industry, and government with advancement and globalization of education system. PSK shall foster advancement of the Society’s activities, improve academic activities, globalize the English academic journal, accelerate the advancement of the pharmaceutical industry, and maximize members’ participation.

The Pharmaceutical Society of Korea has been continuously improved since its foundation

in 1946, thanks to the efforts of the previous presidents, and the passion and hard working

of all the members of the Society. More than ever, the Society has become multidisciplinary

and require intensive integration and research networking in many areas of pharmaceutical

sciences. It has become important to communicate and collaborate with pharmaceutical

scientists in interdisciplinary fields. Technological advances in the pharmaceutical science

have made together the directions that have taken in drug discovery, efficacy and safety, and drug development.

Apparently pharmaceutical science must stand at the center of interdisciplinary fields especially, biotechnology

and nanotechnology that will prosper most in the future. These advances afford us an unparalleled opportunity

to develop new drugs to treat the numerous diseases such as cancers, AIDS, cardiovascular diseases and

many others. As pharmaceutical scientists we are also in charge of conducting researches for the improvement

of health and welfare of people. Today and in the future we have the opportunity to better address key issues

related to drug discovery and development of new drugs. These missions of the Society assure us to be a leading

organization in the areas of human health and safety. It truly is an honor for me to take a role as the president of the

Pharmaceutical Society of Korea and assume such important responsibilities and challenges at this crucial period.

International journal Archives of Pharmacal Research (SINCE 1978) ※2016IF:2.324Archives of Pharmacal Research (APR) is a leading English pharmaceutical journal published in Korea. Indexed in the Thomson Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database, APR publishes original research articles, and critical reviews on the latest developments and issues concerning the pharmaceutical science. To accelerate the research in new drug developments, APR has a unique section titled “This month in APR” as a commentary by a special impact papers selected in each issue. Also each year APR publishes at least one special issue regarding a topical theme. The Journal’s scope includes the areas of Drug discovery, Drug development and Drug action. APR upholds its forte by particularly focusing on papers that can be applied directly to the development of new drugs. The contents of the journal are classified into discovery, efficacy and safety, and drug developments. The journal as a whole is categorized under the subject category of Pharmacy and Pharmacology. The journal is co-published monthly by Springer and the Pharmaceutical Society of Korea (PSK), and its articles can be downloaded through Springer’s website. Strictly peer-reviewed, APR only publishes papers that are validated and in high quality that receive the attention of broad leadership in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The editorial board of APR consists of internationally well-renowned and distinguished scientists in the field of pharmaceutical science. The journal continuously strives to expand the pool of peer reviewers who has the knowledge and expertise in the subject matter related to pharmaceutical science and to improve its international recognition. With its recent remarkable progress, being indexed by the Science Citation Index (SCI) database is expected to be just around the corner.


YakhakHoeji(SINCE 1948)Korean journalYakhakhoeji, a Korean journal published bimonthly by the Pharmaceutical Society of Korea, has been publishing continuously since 1921. Its original journal name “Chosun Yakhakhoebo” was changed to “Yakhakhoeji” in 1948. The journal accepts research papers that have been conducted in collaboration with at least one PSK member (honorary, life-long, regular, student members). However, the editorial board can make decisions on the scope of authors under the special circumstances. The journal publishes original articles, short communications, notes, and reviews within the scope of the pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. It strictly prohibits duplicate publication of papers that have once been published elsewhere or are in the review process in other journals. The newly refurbished editorial board will make all the effort to have the journal indexed in the Science Citation Index database in the near future.
