• Timeframe 2007-2013
SWITCH-Asia programme aims at achieving:
• Increased use of environmentally-friendly technologies and practices by SMEs;
• Adopting more environmentally friendly and socially fair ways of designing;
producing, using, and recycling of products and services;
• Reinforcement and implementation of legal environmental and safety instruments;
• Development and application of effective economic instruments that enhance
SCP.

that by 2020 sustainable consumption
and production in forest product markets
worldwide will be predominated by best
practice, leading to conservation of
forests and supporting truly sustainable

• Leading applicant / implementation managing body: WWF Greater Mekong Programme
• Implementation Partners: Beijing Xiangfei Market Investigation Company, China, and Vietnam Timber and Forest Product Association (VIFORES)
• Action locations: – China: Pizhou in Jiangsu Province, Jiashan in Zhejiang Province, Linyi in
Shandong Province and Zhengding in Hebei Province
– India: Rajasthan, Kerala, and Uttar Pradesh Districts
– Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong province, Dong Nai province and Binh Dinh province

Identification of SMEs; awareness raising; development of baseline
appraisal reports and action plans; monitoring and evaluation; communication of best practice implementation; support policy
development.
