Hiro Mashima• Hiro Mashima( 真島 ヒロ ,  born May 3, 1977) is a Japanese manga artist. He gained success with his first serial Rave, published in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Manga from 1999 to 2005. His currently ongoing Fairy Tail, published in the same manga since 2006, is experiencing even greater popularity.

ABOUT THE BOOK• It written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima, Fairy

Tail has been serialized in the manga anthology Weekly Shōnen Magazine beginning on August 2, 2006.

• In Japan, the fifth volume of Fairy Tail was ranked seventh in a list of the top ten manga.

• Fairy Tail was in 2011 the 4th best selling manga in Japan.

• It also won the 2009 Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen manga. It has also won the Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation's Industry Award in 2009 for best comedy manga.

This book is set in a fictional kingdom of Fiore, where magic is a part of life. Magic is bought and sold their everyday and is an integral part of people’s life and there are those who use magic as occupation. They are referred to as wizards or mages. The wizards belong to various guilds and perform jobs on commission. There are large number of guilds within the country.

In a certain city there lies a certain guild. From which various legends were once born…. Or rather, will continue to be born long into the future….

And its name is…Fairy tail

GuildsThere are 3 types of guilds –• Legal guilds• Dark guilds • Independent guildsThe main power in the Kingdom of Fiore is the King and his Government. Under his order is the Magic Council. When Guilds cause destruction or other disturbances to the peace, it’s the responsibility of the Magic Council. The Council is made up of very powerful Mages, some of whom have the power to legalize or disband Guilds. 

Legal and Dark guilds•  A Legal Guild is one that has been

approved and registered by the Magic Council while a Dark Guild is one that has not been approved by the Magic Council and is treated as a criminal organization.

• In general, guilds are formed for individuals to take Jobs and earn Jewels, and also for them to train and grow stronger. Legal Guilds also work to defend against Dark Mages and other criminals.

Guild ranks• Guild master :- A Guild Master is a Mage who

is the head of the guild that he or she is affiliated with. Typically, Guild Masters are very powerful, often being the strongest Mage in their guilds.

• S-Class Mages :- An S-Class Mage is a powerful Mage that is recognized by the Guild Master and is able to undertake S-Class Jobs. The jobs they take are so dangerous that even the simplest mistake can cost them their life.

• Mages :- Mages are simply users of Magic that are able to undertake Jobs.

• Zeref Dragneel is considered to be the strongest, most evil Mage of all time, who possesses extremely dangerous, and powerful Magic. In reality, he is a reclusive, self-hating youth who cannot control his powers.

• He has been there in this world for 400 years, and is immortal.

Fairy tail is a guild that contains tons of wonderful mages, some of its powerful mages Gildarts ,Erza and Laxus are known throughout the country for their power. A mage Salamander is famous throughout the continent for his level of magic and his way of performing jobs.

• In the guild of fairy tail each member is considered a part of the family, and living in the guild is the most enjoyable part of a mage’s life. They celebrate, party, fight to their fullest.

Natsu Dragneel

Natsu Dragneel  is a Mage of the Fairy Tail Guild, wherein he is a member of Team Natsu. He is the younger brother of Zeref Dragneel, having originally died 400 years ago and was revived as his brother's most powerful Etherious: E.N.D.

He considers his Igneel the king of fire Dragons as his forester father.He is a wimpy headed guy, but when it comes to fighting his brain works at lightning speed.He is a fiercely loyal and protective friend. He is willing to go down fighting for his friends, regardless of how futile it might seem. Natsu has a straightforward mind, and often tackles issues with a "hands on" approach.

Gray Fullbuster

• "Sorry, but it doesn't matter if you're a woman or even a child. I don't go easy on anybody who hurts my comrades."

Gray is one of the prominent member of team Natsu. He uses ice make magic that allows user to create a anything he wishes out of ice. This magic is used to create weapons and shields. He is a student of Ur, she was considered as strong as Gildarts.

• Erza Scarlet is an S-Class Mage of the Fairy Tail Guild, wherein she is a member of Team Natsu. She also served as the guild's 7th Guild Master during Makarov's.

• She is the strongest female in fairy tail and is called ‘Titania’ or ‘the queen of fairies’.

• She has defeated a 100 monsters all by herself and is considered more stronger than the protagonist Natsu himself.

Lucy Heartfilia is a Mage of the Fairy Tail Guild, wherein she is a member of Team Natsu.She comes from a very rich family but does not likes the way she is treated by her father and she runs away from her house to join a mage guild and become stronger.Lucy practices Celestial Spirit Magic, which allows her to summon Celestial Spirits, Magical beings residing in the Celestial Spirit World, using the Keys of their respective Gates.
