1. 「深海探奇」專題展覽 展期： 29.6.2012 – 17.10.2012 地點： 香港科學館特備展覽廳 海洋佔地球上超過百分之九十九的生存空間，但人類只不過探索了其中的百分之三左右，而科

學家幾乎每次潛入深海都會發現新物種。「深海探奇」展覽將帶領大家窺探地球上最難以接近

的生態系統 — 深海。海洋世界的神奇與奧妙絕對超乎我們的想像。浩瀚的汪洋大海生活着各

式各樣的生物，有許多更是數量繁多，但人類卻對牠們所知甚少。雖然海中有着地球上最惡劣

的生存環境，但那些地方竟是許多奇珍異物的家園。在寒冷的漆黑深海中，許多動物只靠發光

溝通，此外，如此深度的水壓也是陸地上生物所無法抵受的。 「深海探奇」專題展覽佔地約700平方米，展出約40件展品，包括一些與實物一樣大小的海洋

生物模型、機械互動遊戲、多媒體節目以及大型展板和地圖，從而讓觀眾了解深海的環境及在

此棲息的獨有物種。展覽會帶領觀眾潛入深海，跨越遼闊的海床，登上海底山，深入海底峽谷

與熱液噴口，探究這個神秘浩瀚、令人驚嘆的異域。除了潛入海洋深處察看獨特而稀奇的古怪

生物外，大家也可以一睹世上最大的魷魚品種 — 大王酸漿魷的實物模型，觀賞時難免會想到

有人被牠的觸鬚緊緊纏着時的感覺。走進「生物光劇場」，各位會了解深海生物如何藉着身上

發出的光芒，在完全黑暗的環境中互傳訊息。讓我們懷着探索的精神，前來參觀於2012年6月

29日至10月17日在香港科學館展出的「深海探奇」專題展覽吧！ 「深海探奇」展覽教師工作坊（活動以粵語進行） 為讓老師加深了解展覽內容，我們特地舉辦免費的「深海探奇」展覽教師工作坊，內容包括展

“Creatures of the Abyss” Special Exhibition Exhibition Period: 29.6.2012 – 17.10.2012 Venue: Special Exhibition Hall, Hong Kong Science Museum The ocean provides more than 99% of the space available for living things on the planet, but only 3% or so of such space has been explored. Scientists will discover new species almost every time they visit the deep ocean. “Creatures of the Abyss” exhibition will take audience on a journey to the most inaccessible ecosystem on Earth – the deep ocean. The marine world is far more wonderful and mysterious beyond human’s imagination. Inhabiting in this vast underwater environment are a wide range of organisms many of which are countless in quantity. However, we only know a very little about them. It is home to some of the strangest creatures living under some of the most inhospitable conditions on the planet. In this cold and dark environment, the communication of many animals takes place through light emission of their bodies, and no terrestrial creatures can withstand the enormous water pressure there. Covering an area of about 700 m2, the exhibition features about forty exhibits including some full-scale models of marine life, mechanical interactive exhibits, multimedia programmes, full-image graphic panels with text and maps. All these will enable visitors to discover and learn about both the physical environment of the deep sea and the fascinating creatures inhabiting therein. The arrangement of presentation leads visitors to travel down into the depths of the ocean, traverse the vast seafloor, climb up seamounts, and enter into undersea canyons and hydrothermal vents. It is an awe-inspiring glimpse of such a vast and mysterious world by descending to the deepest parts of the ocean and discovering the downright sort of extraordinary strange creatures. It is easy to think of someone being entangled by the tentacles of a colossal squid when you are appreciating the life-size model of this largest known species of squid! Inside the Bioluminescence Theatre, we will learn how some creatures of the abyss produce fantastic, colourful light shows for communication purpose in complete darkness! 科訊廊新主題 電腦大變身 － 智能手機或筆記簿型電腦變身機械人

機械人科技已經廣泛應用於汽車裝配、拆除炸彈、家居服務及醫療護理等多個範疇。

近年，香港大學計算機科學系與本港多個機構合作，開發新一代的視像遙控機械人

及藍牙控制機械人，以智能手機或筆記簿型電腦作為機械人的核心，簡化操作設定

及程序，並且進一步提升機械人的功能。研究的項目包括透過互聯網以第一身視像

控制機械人移動及作出其他複雜動作，例如移除模擬輻射物品，或以智能手機控制

機械人進行足球比賽。

機械人科技整合了軟件、電子及機械等科技，是一個激發科學創意及探索的平台。

香港大學計算機科學系與香港電台於2011年舉辦了一系列的《機械人科技工作

坊》，而香港更是2012年《亞太廣播聯盟機械人大賽》的主辦城市。這個展覽將介

紹機械人的主要相關科技，包括機械工程、人造肌肉、感應器、軟件控制、人工智

New Exhibition in Science News Corner “Computer Transformation - Transform Smartphone or Notebook Computer into Robots” Robotics is already widely applied in many industrial aspects and our daily life such as assembly of automobiles, bomb disposal, domestic services and nursing. Recently, the Department of Computer Science of the University of Hong Kong (HKU), together with various institutions in Hong Kong, develop a new generation of video tele-present robots and Bluetooth-based robots. With smartphone or notebook computer being the core of control, the setup and operational procedures of a robot are greatly simplified with more new features provided. The study items include global video control of robots with a first-person view through Internet, performance of very complicated movements such as removal of simulated radioactive substance, and football game played by smartphone-based robots. Through the integration of technologies in computer science, mechanics and electronics, robotics technology has become an effective platform for scientific exploration and creativity. HKU’s Computer Science Department jointly organised a series of “Robotics Technology Workshop” with RTHK in 2011, and Hong Kong has become the hosting city for the ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (Robocon) in 2012! 其他學生活動Other Student Programmes 1.「小小科學家」探索活動 —「巨大的力量」（活動以粵語進行） Little Scientist Exploration Programme – Gigantic Force (To be conducted in Cantonese) 香港科學館於6至7月期間再度推出深受歡迎的「巨大的力量」探索活動，讓學生探索力學

的科學知識及在日常生活中的應用，內容包括介紹牛頓三大力學定律，操作簡單機械及製

作水火箭等。本活動歡迎學校及家長教師會報名參加，詳情請參閱附上的報名表或瀏覽

2. 2012/2013年度學校參觀申請 2012/2013 School Visit Application 凡師生人數達20人或以上及當中的學生人數不少於15人，並於參觀日期前最少兩星期所

提出的申請，在其獲得批准後有關的參觀人士可獲豁免入場費用。所有申請會以先到先得

方式處理。 （註：豁免入場費用只適用於教師和學生。參觀的學校團體中如有家長／義工等其他人

士，則該團體的聯絡人須於參觀日期前，向本館職員查詢為該等人士購票的事宜。） Admission fee will be waived for school groups with 20 or above teachers and students and at least 15 students among them upon approval of application for visit which must be made at least 2 weeks before the date of visit. All applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis. (Remarks: Waiving of admission fee is applicable to teachers and students only. The contact person of a visiting school group has to contact our staff before the date of visit regarding admission fee for persons other than teachers and students such as parents / volunteers.)
