essex blades ultimate alumni newsletter
DESCRIPTION
Although we may have graduated, the club we dedicated our blood, sweat and tears to continues to thrive as our legacy lives on. Although we may be stuck behind desks, on the road, travelling the world or watching Jeremy Kyle crying into our UoE hoodies, ultimately we will always be Blades. The Alumni newsletter is our opportunity to stay connected with our beloved club and each other. Once a Frisbabe, always a frisbabe.TRANSCRIPT
So...What have I missed!? Sugar Rush 2014
Another December at Colchester
Campus meant one thing, another
Sugar Rush and boy did the team
kill it this year. Raising funds for
the Colchester Gateway Clubs, 40
Frisbabes took to Square 3 in
festive attire selling candy canes
and spreading Xmas joy during their
delivery with classic carols. After
raising a total of £542.66 it’s great
to see a Frisbee legacy going from
strength to strength.
London Beginners Indoor
Winter League Champions
2015
On 17 January & 21 March two teams of
freshers took part in the London Indoor
Winter League Beginners Tournament and
we are pleased to tell you that they
came 1st & 4th! Picking up the plate,
victorious Pedro ’Tom’ Pavoux expressed
his honour: “The Blades are going from
strength to strength. We fought hard on
the pitch and I’m proud to take home a
trophy for the Frisbabes… finally!”
Spirit champions UMIR
Now we know we are all well-
versed in our spirits after years
of Feds; however we are now
also the most spirited university
indoor mixed team in the South
East (and by a comfortable
margin too!) Winning 3/4 of their
final-day games the indoor mixed
1sts were beyond pleased to be
able to take home some
glassware!
JC’s final Blades training
JC, a man we’ve all come to know and love
through his years of dedication to UEUF
has landed a new job and will sadly no long-
er be able to coach the squad. I’m sure
you’ll all join us on wishing JC the best of
luck for the future.
First Bladies outdoor team
We’ve had a lot of 1sts in our Essex
History, from our Khazak clash to Bea’s
fruitful bottom but in Feb we finally sent
a women’s team to outdoor regionals. The
girls fought hard & showed great promise.
It’s the start of something beautiful..
Who’s up for a challenge?
Frisbee friends and families, it's time for us all to come together and create
serious change. For the University's 50th anniversary, we want to raise
£2500 for Colchester Gateway Clubs. It sounds like a monster challenge,
right?
Negativo! Just like Man Vs Food, we will tackle this meaty challenge in small
bite-sized chunks.
Enter the 50:50 challenge, 50 people raising 50 pounds each to help provide
educational and artistic opportunities for young adults with autism in our local
area.. Blades, alumni or relative, it’s time for us to do something brilliant for a
worthy cause. Together, we can do this.

Alumni Weekend 2015
Responsibilities? Professionalism? Inhibitions? BEHAVE!
In the words of All Saints, if “you’ve never ever ever ever felt so low” then fear
not as Alumni Weekend is soon upon us!
We’ll be bringing you your standard competitive games where you get to remind the
Blades that we’re more than a legacy… we’re THE originals. On top of our world-
class banter, promiscuity and dance moves there will be a variety of activities to
get involved in including our very own Chinese lantern release and time capsule
celebration for the 50th anniversary, club BBQ and a game of flip cup involving
bathing suits, lubricant and a steep incline….
The theme?
The heaven’s have opened and it’s survival of the fittest as the animals battle it out
for a place on Noah’s Ark! Click through to the Alumni Weekend spreadsheet
to reserve your animal choice. The Blades will then have access to the list to pair
up with an alumni/animal. Once you’ve got your pair, please do get chatting on FB
etc. .to organise your outfits!
Follow the Facebook event for updates and be sure to click attending!
