We are the diploma students of the Hotel Management Programme from INTI College Sabah, Putatan. On behalf of our college, we are hereby interest you with a charity event which will serve as a part of our subject requirements (HMG3105 Event Management).We sincerely hope to have the honour to organize the event in your premise.

For your knowledge the event is a Youth Talent Competition, which will involve the students from different secondary schools, institutions and colleges to display their performance on the stage through a series of singing, dancing and cheerleading competitions. Prizes and rewards will be given to the most talented groups and candidates to encourage their exposure and innovation on aesthetic extracurricular activities. The main objective of the competition is to gather charity funds for Rumah Bakti Harapan located in Inanam.

The Youth Talent Competition is planned to hold on 2nd July 2011 in Suria Sabah Shopping Mall from 10:30am to 4:30pm; more details regarding the objectives and particulars of the event are comprised along with the attached proposal. The competition will be conducted under the surveillance of responsible and experienced personnel from INTI College Sabah.

EVENT PROPOSAL

Event Summary

The event we proposed is a Youth Talent Competition. The event will be held as a

competition between several secondary schools, private institutions and colleges in Kota

Kinabalu. The competition is basically divided into 3 major categories: Singing, Dancing,

and Cheerleading, with each of its own rivaling rules and conditions.

1. The Singing entry will include English, Malay and Chinese songs, with performance

duration of 6 minutes maximum per candidate. The entry fee for singing competition

will be RM20per person.

2. Dancing entry will loosely base on the preference of the participants, vast range of

modern dancing styles and genres are acceptable. The performing group has to consist

of 3 to 5 crew member; the performance duration for dancing will be around 5 to 7

minutes. Entry fee for dancing will be RM35 per group.

3. The Cheerleading entry is open for any groups above 5 members; participating groups

will be given a time limit of 10 minutes to perform the rallying arts of their choice.

The entry fee for cheerleading competition will be RM45 per group.

The rankings of the competition will be adjusted to top 3,with trophies as recognition and

hampers for prizes. Other competing teams or candidates will be given a certificate of honour

to encourage their good endeavors.

Event Goals

The Talent Show aims to achieve the following objectives:

1. To raise funds for a charity organization located in Inanam - Rumah Bakti Harapan

for the sake of fulfilling their needs for societal caring and attention.

2. To introduce and involve students with extracurricular activities that falls outside the

realm of normal curriculum of school or academic education. Also to provide a bridge

for direct interactions and knowledge-sharing between students and alumni with

prospective and incoming students, parents and instructors of different institutions.

3. To construct confidence, self-esteem and teamwork of the organizing members

through exposure of practical event management. Increase vital knowledge of

planning and strength in organizing in real world circumstances.

Event Description

The Youth Talent Competition is planned to hold on 2nd July 2010 in Suria Sabah depending

on negotiation terms. The expected operation time will be from 10:30am to 4:30pm and

estimated to take 2 hours of preparation. The equipments for the event will either be

comprised along with the venue bid or brought in from outside leasing.

60% of the funds collected will be donated to the physically and mentally-challenged

handicapped children of Rumah Bakti Harapan to improve their facilities and to fulfil their

future plan of building 2 separate hostels for both male and female. The funds are also used to

assist the finance for their future benefits, savings and life time insurance. We hope to

contribute part of the funds that will accumulate a target of total RM250,000.

The target markets for the event will be the adolescent students ranging from 13 to 25 years

old. The Youth Talent Competition is themed with modern culture to inspire the innovation

and appreciation of aesthetic arts.

Sponsorship DetailsGenerous sponsorships for the event will be contributed by outside companies and

organizations. The sponsorships for the event are made via a request form; sponsors will be

highlighted in general announcements, during the introduction of the event, and in an article

of the workshop published in the academic newsletter afterwards.

The sponsorships collected will be used as event expenses and donations for Rumah Bakti

Harapan in order to support their future education and benefits. The sponsorship will also

help the event to achieve the target goal of RM250,000 to build a premise and take in more

poor handicapped persons.
