New York, Oct 7. Dr.-- touts Marlon,a prominent physician ot Havre,France, who is at present in this city.In an Interview today said: "While ItIs not surprising that so many Amcilcans get dyspepsia, considering thoway they live, and particularly whatthey cat, yet It Is surprising that somany suffer so long from the disease,as It Is In fact very easy to cure. If thoright course Is pusued. Tho Inner llnIng of the stomach of a person sulTer- -Iiir with dyspepsia Is covered with acoating of unhealthy mucuous, whichprevents the proper flow ot gnstrlofluid. Stimulants to the gastrlu Julcomay give temporary relief, but as theydo not remove the true cause of thedisease they cannot effect a. cure, whilethey frequently aggravate It owing totheir polbonous-properties- .

"All that Is necessary to cure dys-pepsia Is to take a little hydrozone Ina half glass ot water before meals, andK teaapoonful of glycozone after meals. The hydrozone being a powerful hut

antiseptic and pus de-

stroyer, breaks down the morbid ele-ment, while glycozone, acting on aclean Burfaco, subdues tno Inflamma-tion. This method of treatment la Inaccordance with rcanon, and experi-ence shows It entirely successful.

DANGER OF INNUENDO IIAUIT.

The path of the rural editor Is notulnars one of pleasantness, as the gvntlenian who presides mw tho sanctumdestinies ot the Arena of Ilralncrd,Minn., can testify. He will testify tothis und somo other things when bogets enough tar off his person to malesroom. And all the trouble arises overtho fact that the editor persists Inusing Innuendoes In his valued sheetOther rural editors have sufferedthrough their Innuendo department, but they obstinately refuse to be In'fluenced by precedent, no matter howImpressive or how unpleasant It maybe. One of these Innuendoes was particularly obnoxious to tiralnerd s poll'tlcul boss, and that worthy recentlychased the editor up the street and into a butcher's shop, where he foundrefuge in the butcher's Icebox and itwasn't a warm day, either. Yet whenhe got out he went right back to liven-ing up the innuendo column.

Nemesis was still on his track, howeer, and she caught him when theIcebox wasn't handy, Threo maskedmen swept him from a friendly porch

hustled himuwy fiom town and then decoratedhim with a coat of warm tar, withfeather trimmings. When lie was doneto their satisfaction they turned lilmloose.

Naturally the editor Bwears ven-geance, und his first effort to secure itw III take the form ot legal proceedings. And In tho meantime tho Arena's In-

nuendo department be expectedfrom now on to fairly coruscate withscorching pen thrusts ClevelandI'lalu Dealer.

present time more than anything elseis a strong restraining hand, and thathand Is now on the helm of State. ItPresident Roosevelt will quietly inform those warring factions In Hawaiithat their conduct Is unseemly andwholly opposed to his Idea of the manner in which a Territory should begoverned, the fighting, the back-bttln- g

and the recrimination will cease.Congress will meet In December, and

during the session the law will be laiddown in n plain and unmlstakcablemanner. Thereafter there will be noopportunity for the exercise or an attempt to exercise disputed authority. In the meantime, however, there laevery necessity for bringing thesesenseless disputants back to the placewhere they left their senses. Theymust be made to understand that, not-withstanding the fact that the Tcrrl- -ory is Isolated and without sufficientlaws to satisfactorily govern, they arestill far from being an Independentsovereignty. They must learn thatprovision hns been mnde for governingtho Islands Irrespective of wranglingpoliticians striving to accomplish selfish ends.

That President Roosevelt Is capableof Imparting this knowledge and thathe will act decisively unless the quarrels cease, nobody who knows thePresident will doubt.

PEARL HARBOR WITHSTAKES AND BUOYS

FOR THE

IVnrl Harbor and the channel lead atIng from the Bea Into It liaire beenstaked nnd buoyed so that now theplace Is navigable In safety by small L.,yachts. On Saturday Commodore T. allW. Ilobron of tho Hawaii Yaciit Club sheleft this city In the yacht Gladys for theI'earl Harbor to do the work.

Off l'uuloa on the windward side ofthe channel the first bad point wasmarked at tho outer edge by a stakebearing n red nnd white flag plainlyvlslblo for several hundred fet. Thenext point marked was the mauha endof the shark pen on the ice side of thochannel which, for a long tlmo, hasbeen n favorite "bumping" place forthe pleasure craft. This second stakeshould be given n wide berth nnd It Itnot safe to go within one hundred feetof it, leaving It on the port side In en- -terlng the harbor. Opposite Puuloaand to windward, where a long sandspit extends out, a buoy with red nndwhito flag was placed. Furtheralong, on the opposite side, a stakemarking n shallow spot, was placed.Opposite the entrance to West Loch, another buoy was placed, marking abad ledge coming from the maukaside. Off the Peninsula the third buoywna placed which marks n shoal tothe left on tho port side going towardsWolau. Two stakes with Hags, tnnu- -

ka of Pord's Island, were placed andshould be left on the starboard sideIn going from the Peninsula nroumt thoIsland to windward. These two stakemark the worst place far small boatsIn tho harbor and should be kept wellto leeward. i

A chart of the hnrror frith the dangerouH spots marked Is to be gottenout by the Hawaii Yacht Club for theiiso ot Its members nnd courses laiddown on It so that a trip to nnd In thebeautiful cruising grounds will soonbe robbed of Its terrors for the ama-teur sailors, who have heretofore beenkept-awa- by the difficulties attendantnn sailing there.

Pearl Harbor Is without doubt one ofthe finest bodies of water In tho worldfor small boats and the enjoyment ofcruls'nir tiicre Is enrhanced by the factthat without some little skill, a yachtsman will get himself In trouble

In former years and, In fact, only asfur back ns yesterday, It was a com-mon occurrence for the larger boats toret Into plltkla on the shoals whichabound In Pearl Harbor. Crews wereIn tho habit of going perparrd to strip

The Bonnie Dundee, now the Maryhad a favorite trick of bringing upstanding on a reef nearly every time

On her visit yesterclay, the boat made connections twice,The first time was off Ford's Islandwhen she was on for an hour and thesecond time, near tho shark pen wherethe depth of water was misjudged,She was got off this spot without muchdifficulty, however, and then she procceded In company with the Gladys toHonolulu.

BIG YACIIT RACE

The two yachts Mary L and Gladysramc together yesterday for the firsttime since Regatta Day and had amerry race from Puuloa to the city In aline steady breeze which allowed theMnry I, to carry her gaff topsail allthe way and then be beaten. Startingtogether with the Mary L slightly Inthe lend, tho boats squared nny fortho bar. The Mary L was about fiftyyards ahead ot the Oladys off tho sharkpen when she stopped suddenly ,andher crew prepared to get her off a reefshe had found. Under the unfortunatecircumstances, the Oladys stood by torender assistance but tho largo crewaboard the Mary. When tbo boats made their secondstart the Oladys was again a little Inthe rear and the Mary L led her overthe bar. Washington, Oct 6. Tho sons anddaughters ot the' late President McKln-le- y

native State of Ohio, who are nowresident ot Washington, paid a lastpublic tribute to the memory of theirCongressman, Governor and PresidentIn a largely attended meeting atChase's Opera House today. The gath-ering was held under the auspices ofthe Ohio Republican Association, butwas not confined to Obtoans. About3000 people were present. The decorations were appropriate to the occasion.

An Interesting feature of the .meet-ing was the reading of a letter fromDr, M. D. Mann, one ot the President'sphysicians, to the secretary of the as-

sociation. It was dated Buffalo, Sep-tember 26th and said:

"As President McKlnley was dyingI stood behind a sereen In his roomand heard him say his last words. Hiswife came Into the room, and he saidto her: 'Good by, all, good-by- r It laGod's way. Ills will be done, not ours.'There was some further conversation"with his wife In tho wny ot leave tak-ing, but this should not bo repeated.About an hour later bo said to hiswife: 'Nearer, my Ood, to Thee, oenthough It be a cross, has been my constant prayer.' He tried to say some.thing more, but I could not catch It.I gavo out at the time tho first sen-tence as being1 tbo most appropriate tobe remembered as his last words. Iwrote them down at tho time, so thatthere can bo no question about It."
