The geopark has Araucarioxylon fossil tree complete with the root of 300 million years, the oldest in Asia. Today the ancient Merangin River is usually used for white water sports. Merangin is a regency (kabupaten) of Jambi Province on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. At the 2010 Census, Merangin had a population of 336,050

Itinerary

DAY 1 JAKARTA – JAMBI – BANGKO – MUSEUM – RUMAH TUO Starting your journey with fly to Jambi, then our team provide the vehicle from Jambi to Bangko about 4-‐5 hour drive. Before visiting the geopark area in the district Merangin, it helps to first visit the Museum Geopark Merangin. The museum is located in downtown Bangko -‐ Merangin district capital -‐ precisely in Ujung Tanjung. n this museum, visitors will be guided to know and understand many things pertaining to the Geopark area. Not only the knowledge of a variety of fossil rocks, but is also presented concerning ecosystems. This relates to the flora and fauna that exist and Regional Watershed (DAS). Continue to Rumah Tuo Rantau Panjang/ The old house Rantau Panjang, is a traditional village consisting of 80 houses. Settlement with traditional houses of the old village which is estimated to have five hundred years old. In this village still preserved many ancestral heirlooms are still awake and well maintained. You will stay overnight to interact with local people

Along the river you will see the beautiful fossil tract / silicified wood, then our Interpreter will describe it during rafting. After rafting finished continue to Air Batu Village, After feeling natural adventure rafting with various beauty and experience gained, Air Batu villagers will enhance your travel adventure with a unique tradition treats. He became a cultural meditation .... v Accommodation: Air Batu Local Homestay DAY 3 AIR BATU – SENGERING CAVE -‐ JAMBI After breakfast, check out and continue journey to Sengering Cave, Sengering caves are in the karst area in the village Tiangko, sub Sungai Manau, Merangin District. Position is located on the border between Kerinci and Merangin, upstream Tiangko hill. The cave is formed from stream river flowing from upstream in the hills Tiangko and empties into the river Batang Merangin.
