operates between the airport and EXPO REAL.

emissions sticker needed for city centerThe inner-city zone of Munich (bounded by the Mittlerer Ring ring road)

is a green zone. That means only vehicles with a green emissions sticker

can enter this zone (red stickers are no longer valid). The exhibition center

lies outside this zone, so the sticker requirement will only apply to you if

your hotel is within this zone or if you wish to drive into the city center.

Green zoneThe green zone is the city-center area bounded by the “Mittlerer Ring”

road. The Mittlerer Ring itself is not included in the zone. The roads

The easy way to get to eXPO ReALLine U2 on the subway runs every 10 minutes between 5:30 and 00:10

to “Messestadt West.” During peak times, it runs every 5 minutes. A time-

Local public transport to eXPO ReALThe suburban railway (S-Bahn) and subway (U-Bahn) network in Munich

is operated by the Munich Public Transport Authority (MVV). Your ticket

to EXPO REAL no longer entitles you to free travel on the MVV services.

So, here’s a tip: buy a “Single 1-Day Ticket” for € 11.

With this ticket you can travel on public transport to EXPO REAL but

it also covers unlimited travel to anywhere on the Munich network,

including the airport, during a 24-hour period.

It couldn’t be easier:

1. Have ready the printed barcode below (Please note: the print-out of

the barcode is not a ticket!)

2. Upon arrival, go to an MVV ticket machine* and press the green

“easy button.” Then scan in the ticket barcode on the machine.

3. Pay for your MVV ticket at the ticket machine

in cash or by credit card.

From October 8 to 10, 2012, there will be a bus shuttle service

between the hotels and the exhibition center—to help you get to and

from EXPO REAL as quickly and comfortably as possible.

• In the mornings the buses run every 30 minutes from 128 hotels

in Munich’s city center and suburbs to EXPO REAL.

• In the evenings the buses run every hour from the exhibition

center to the hotels.

Sendlinger Straße

Sendlinger Straße has always had a reputation as a shopping

street. It’s a succession of one store after another. It will live up to

that reputation even more in future: by the fall of 2012 the street

will have been partially converted into a pedestrian zone.
