Extendable Hardware PlatformThe core of the EyeLink 1000 platform consists of custom developed high-speed imaging hardware and software. This core platform can be cost effectively extended in many different ways. The same camera allows multiple modes of highly accurate monocular and binocular recording with the head stabilized, at sampling rates up to 2000 Hz. In a fully remote 500 Hz configuration the viewer is free to move their head in a completely unrestrained environment.

Integrated Eye Tracking EquipmentSR Research provides highly integrated eye tracking equipment, experiment creation tools, and data analysis software for many areas of behavioral research.

This combined product set results in a complete eye tracking solution, allowing you to focus on your research goals, not on integrating different products from multiple vendors.

Focal Imaging TechnologyFocal imaging technology, unique to the EyeLink 1000 platform, provides extremely high resolution eye data without a limited camera field of view.

Robust eye tracking in conditions of moderate head movement allows for a less restrictive head restraint, making for quick and easy participant setup.

The EyeLink Primate system is designed for use in non-human primate research where extremely high temporal and spatial resolution is required. The EyeLink Primate system consists of our custom designed digital video camera and an IR illuminator module intended for mounting on the non-human primate restraining chair. Alternatively, our EyeLink Desktop mount can be used as a more turn-key mounting option. The EyeLink Primate system outputs eye position and pupil size in either digital or analog formats. Both outputs can be linearly calibrated using built in offset and gain adjustments. The offset and gain adjustment states can be saved and reloaded at a later date, allowing for easy switching between participants. It is also possible to calibrate using our built in 9 point and 13 point procedures for non-linear data calibration. One of the unique features to our analog output is its hard real-time scheduling, guaranteeing that each sample is updated on the analog output device with less than 50 usec of inter sample jitter. This provides a very consistent and accurate analog time base.

> Real-timeAccess eye position data with 3.0 msec delay > Reliable Head Distance TrackingMaximum head movement speed of 100 cm / second, even during blinks > Robust Blink RecoveryRecovery time of 2 msec > Silent & StillNo attention-grabbing motorized parts to interfere with participant behavior

The EyeLink Remote system is designed for areas of eye tracking research where a head rest or head mount is not desirable but high accuracy and resolution are still important.

Head distance is accurately measured at 500 Hz using a small target sticker placed on the participant’s forehead. The use of a distance measure that is independent of the eye allows for head position to be tracked even during blinks, providing an extremely fast 2 msec blink recovery delay. The fast head position sampling rate also allows for head tracking during very quick head movements.

Remote Eye TrackerEyeLink® Remote

EyeLink Arm MountThe EyeLink Arm Mount affixes the EyeLink 1000 beneath an LCD monitor on a flexible arm so that the entire eye tracking apparatus and display can be easily moved into place in front of the viewer whose eyes are to be tracked. Combined with the Remote recording option, this solution is ideal for reaching viewers in difficult to record positions or where head restraint is simply not desirable.

Multi-purpose HardwareEyeLink Remote recording works with the EyeLink Desktop and EyeLink Arm Mounts so you can quickly and easily switch between eye tracking configurations by simply changing the camera lens and adding head support. This technological advance allows you to purchase multiple eye tracking systems in one.

The EyeLink Remote is more capable than merely monitoring fixation. The system's high resolution and accuracy provide reliable fixation saccade and blink event onset times and durations.

The real-time data access and excellent temporal resolution of the EyeLink Remote make it the ideal head-free remote eye tracker for gaze contingent and gaze controlled applications.

An optical head-tracking camera integrated into the headband allows accurate tracking of the subject’s point of gaze without the need for a bite bar. The extremely low noise level of this optical tracker means that the noise level of computed gaze position data is comparable to that of the original eye position data, allowing gaze data to be used for saccadic analysis.

The EyeLink II has the fastest data rate and highest resolution of any head-mounted video-based eye tracker. This exceptional data quality results in very low velocity noise, making the EyeLink II ideal for saccade analysis and smooth pursuit studies.

The EyeLink II system consists of three miniature cameras mounted on a comfortable padded headband. No mirrors are used in the EyeLink II system, making it very robust and easy to set up. Two eye cameras allow binocular eye tracking or easy selection of the subject’s dominant eye without any mechanical reconfiguration.

Integrated Software Tool SetSR Research provides highly integrated experiment creation and data analysis software for use with the EyeLink II system.

This combined product set offers a complete software and hardware eye tracking solution, allowing you to focus more on your research goals and less on how to integrate different products from multiple vendors.

Real World Eye Tracking with Scene Camera OptionThe EyeLink II Scene Camera option records a participant’s eye position in relation to a video being captured by a forward facing head-mounted camera.

The Scene Camera extension turns the EyeLink II base system into a dual purpose eye tracker, capable of providing high quality computer monitor and real world based eye tracking.

SceneLink, a software application included with the Scene Camera option, saves the scene video and eye data to a computer hard drive. The application provides real-time display of the eye position on the scene video as the data is being recorded. SceneLink can also be used to calibrate the eye tracker and playback the saved scene videos for analysis.Alternatively, the scene video with integrated gaze position overlay can be saved to any NTSC recording device supporting S-Video or composite (RCA) input.

Software & Accessories

The EyeLink Gaze Overlay accessory converts the graphics from a computer monitor to a NTCS or PAL video stream. A cursor is drawn on the video representing the participant’s point of gaze on the display.

This option is used to provide gaze position information on a dynamic stimulus display, like a web browser, other computer applications, digital video, or DVD movie. The video signal is then typically saved onto a VCR or DVR recorder, but can also be saved to a computer using a S-Video to DV-AVI converter.

Software & AccessoriesAnalog CardThe EyeLink® Analog Output accessory is used to output eye position and pupil size data as analog voltages. The native digital EyeLink eye data is converted to 16 bit analog signals in real-time using hardware interrupt driven processing. This ensures an extremely constant output duration for each analog sample.

The analog card features 16 bits of digital input and output, which can be used for the TTL triggering of recording start / end or synchronization of the digital eye data file with external devices.

Portable Host ComputerThe EyeLink Portable Host PC includes a lunchbox style chassis with an integrated 17.1" LCD monitor, keyboard, trackpad and speakers. The portable host is compatible with all EyeLink systems and accessories.

This rugged portable computer provides an easier to transport Host PC, complete with a luggable padded carrying case on wheels. Its small footprint takes up less valuable lab space, and it is the ideal solution when the EyeLink needs to be moved between multiple locations.

1 All 2000 Hz specifications (and 1000 Hz per eye binocularly) require purchase of the EyeLink 2K camera upgrade option.2 Pupil-Only tracking mode is available for use in head fixed conditions. EyeLink II uses hybrid only at 250 Hz.3 Measured with real eye fixations at multiple screen positions on a per subject basis. 4 Measured with a stationary artificial pupil.5 Time from physical event until first registered sample is available via Ethernet or Analog output. Optional data filter algorithm adds one sample delay for each filtering level.6 Binocular tracking with Desktop Mount can reduce allowed head movement to approx. 25 mm Horizontal and Vertical.7 Custom builds are possible at up to 940 nm
