FISHER, GERALD P., 62, of San Diego, California, formerly of Honolulu, died Oct. 13, 1991.
He was former publisher and part-owner of Hawaii Press Newspapers (Waikiki Beach Press) and
helped found the Japanese Beach Press. In 1979, Fisher and Duane Hagdone purchased the
Pacific Bindery. In 1962, Fisher founded American Hotel and Restaurant Supply. He was later
active in Hawaii’s tourism industry serving in Sales and Marketing Executives of Hawaii,
Hawaii Hotel Association, Hawaii Visitors Bureau, Hawaii Newspaper Publishers Association,
and the Honolulu Advertising Federation. He was also a member of the Mid Pacific Country
