The book has been greeted with unanimous acclaim from peers and experts. Prof. Zhu Ciyun, a PhD supervisor at Tsinghua University, thinks this book lls the gap in the “disregard of corporate personality” in the eld of comparaƟve law. Special Feature

The first event was held on January 25, 2013 and included a visit of the students of

the Interna onal Business Law (IBL) Master Program of the University of Macau

plus a delega on of 36 students and staff from Taylor’s Law School of the Taylor’s

University in Malaysia to the Macau Courts and the Macau Legisla ve Assembly.

They were very well received in the mee ng room of the Macau Court of First In‐

stance by being offered the opportunity to listen to welcome words and presenta‐

ons by Dr. Tong Hio Fong (President of Court of First Instance & Administra ve

Court), Dr. Seng Ioi Man (Judge at the Administra ve Court), and Dr. Paulo Mar‐

ns Chan (Assistant Prosecutor General). Later they were also shown around in

the premises of the Court. At the Assembly, the visitors were welcome by the Sec‐

retary General of the Legisla ve Assembly, Ms. Stella Ieong and Dr. Paulo Cardinal

and, following introductory speeches about the work and role of the Legisla ve

Assembly in the Macau Special Administra ve Region shown the plenary room.

On January 26, 2013, a “Macau‐Malaysia Roundtable” was held in the auditorium

HG01 of the University of Macau, which featured first a series of presenta ons on

the uniqueness of Macau’s legal system presented by our colleagues Denis HALIS,

Prof. Fernando SIMOES, Henrique CARVALHO, IBL master student Lillian C.F. NG, and

Dr. Sten Verhoeven. In the second half, the visitors from Taylor’s Law School in Ma‐

laysia presented several interes ng topics related to the Malaysian legal system. The

presenta ons covered “A brief overview of the Malaysian Legal System” (by Ms.

Chris e Yi Shen WONG), “The Rule of Law in the Malaysian Legal System” (Ms. Peih

Fenn) and “Consent in Medical Negligence under Malaysian Tort Law” (Ms. Yin

Shang CHEW). The roundtable was concluded by a session of ques ons and answers.

To celebrate the Chinese New Year, the Faculty of Law held the “Chinese New

Year Gathering” on 5 February at Hotel Beverly Plaza. The academic and admin‐

istra ve staff as well as their family members spent a joyful night together. On

that night, we had delicious food, exci ng games and lucky draw.
