• Bright Futures (BF), Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG), and Florida Resident Access Grant (FRAG) received increases

• Florida College System Institutions get new names
• Two community colleges to state colleges
– Lake Sumter State College (formerly Lake Sumter Community College)
– Eastern Florida State College (formerly Brevard Community College)

Business Cycle: Reporting
• Disbursement Eligibility Reports (DERs) are due for:– FSAG‐CE, Bright Futures, CSDDV and others
(Rosewood and José Martí ) ‐ no later than 30
days after the Last Day of Drop/Add
– FWEP ‐ no later than 30 days after the end of each term

• Security breach in fall 2012 led to restrictions in accessing and downloading data ‐Memo sent December 5, 2012 (OSFA‐STATE: # 12‐13:07)– Removing the following decentralized programs from the Master Eligibility List file: Florida Student Assistance Grants Florida Work Experience Program Mary McLeod Bethune Scholarship Program First Generation Matching Grant Program Florida Resident Access Grant Access to Better Learning and Education Grant Minority Teachers Education Scholars Program

Eligibility Files
• Institutions will have the capability to download files only for their own students of record (per the SSFAD). The files affected are:
– Master Eligibility List (MEL) All or Bright Futures Only pre‐Dec 2012
All (BF, JM, RFS, CSDDV) 2013
– FSAG Eligibility Determination List
– Talented Twenty (T‐20) List

• Notifications sent to students to keep their information updated with OSFA
– The first Friday May through August
– Notice available on any students FARH
• If student is not on your institution’s MEL, you can look up the student individually online

Eligibility Files
• Beginning with the 2013‐14 academic year: – Complete an annual ‘Certification of Student Data Files’ survey. This activity will occur as part of the annual Institution Application (see last page of the application).
– Use the OSFA File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for file up/downloads Call 888‐827‐2004 for assistance
• You still have the option of entering students one at a time

Disbursements
• Do you have both clock hour programs and credit hour programs?– Use optional field to convert credit hour course of study to clock hours
– The minimum required certificate program length to receive FSAG‐CE is 450 clock hours
– If your institution uses both clock hours and credit hours, you must convert the hours to the type of hours your institution reported as its primary hour type on the PSI Application
• 30 clock hours = 1 semester hour• 20 clock hours = 1 quarter hour
